Stayed at this site 3 years ago which was very enjoyable had a lovely meal in the study,
But now the site has gone down the toilet, the toilets were disgusting never cleaned property the hand dryer only worked on the first day no paper towels supplied,
The hard standing pitches where not very level in fact probably the worst pitch I have been on,
The Stiddy pub only accepts cash no WiFi and on Friday when we arrived they only serve Pizzas.
All in all the site needs a full refurbishment it’s looking very old and tired
On a plus side the Bus stop is just outside the site so you can go into Whitby

Second time at Lythe and just as good this time.
Site is peaceful, views are fabulous and some excellent walks around.
Walk to Whitby, bus back.
Didnt eat this time at the Stiddy but had drinks.
Definitely return.

A lovely welcome and explanation of the site's facilities. We booked a pitch with sea view that and that's what we got, watching the sunrise was amazing.
Facilities were very clean whenever we used them, morning or night.
I would recommend the pub, welcoming, and the food was good value too
Value for money is 8 as I feel pitch fees are just too much currently but that's the same everywhere.

Well set-back from the road, so quiet. Great view but not all pitches have it so book early - we were on one of 4 pitches without the view but nicely surrounded by greenery.
Facilities are very good for a small campsite - having a washing machine and tumble dryer is really handy but make sure you have coins as nothing was open in the village when we arrived! £3 for wash, £1 for 20 mins drying.
All in all, great place to stay with accessible beach on foot.

Our second visit to this campsite, and the view is just as lovely! We booked a hard standing pitch which was adequate and made the most of the views, the picnic benches are a useful addition to the pitches.
The facilities were good and kept in clean condition, excepting the problem of some people not cleaning the communal washing up sinks of food debris after their use. This is common on many sites, unfortunately.
The warden was friendly and welcoming.
The food at the Stiddy pub is lovely, one of our reasons for re-visiting this site. At our time of visiting opening hours were limited from Wed to Sun with Sat and Sun being the only days they were open all day.
The bus service, is excellent and from right outside the Pub. The local shop is very well stocked with essentials and has friendly service.
There is a nice courtyard type tea garden behind the shop which was sheltered and offered a choice of things to eat and drink.
St Oswald's church has an interesting display of its early history inside, well worth the stroll down to it. If you use an awning of any kind, make sure that it is well strapped down.
Although winds were light when we were there, the possibility of high winds whipping up quickly would always be a possibility in this exposed location.

Site was nice although we felt that the pitches were very close to each other, toilet and shower facilities washing up and laundry room was great.
I still don’t understand why people have to shout and let their children run around at 10pm, I know quite time is at 11pm but you would think people would have a little about them and think of others.
We only went in the pub one time but have to say the food and staff was brilliant.
Unfortunately the weather was not good for the end of the week so we left a couple of days early as there’s nothing to do much when it’s not good weather

Greeted by Mike on arrival and everything explained to us. He had decided not to heat the toilet/shower block but was heating the water at certain times of the day.
Pitches are a little basic but good enough and was hardstanding. There is a fresh water tap near the toilets and grey waste is put in the hedge. The CDP is in a small fenced compound. There is a laundry room as well.
At the end of the drive is The Stiddy pub which we went to for Sunday lunch and had it sat in front of a roaring fire.
There is a well stocked shop in the village and has good opening times.
The bus stop in both directions is close by. We caught a bus into Whitby and I caught a bus to Staithes to meet up with friends.
At the time the buses ran half hourly in either direction.
St. Oswald's Church which is a short walk toward Sandsend is well worth a visit.
I walked down into Sandsend which is quite a steep descent bearing in mind the last couple of hundred yards has no pavement.
This site is in a very good location. We have decided that we would rather come here when it is in quiet season as that suits us perfectly.
We would certainly return.

This is a fabulous site.
Views, facilities are excellent and pub is great.
Bus stop outside site as is gin distillery.
Only negative is pitches could do with a bit of work.
Will definitely go back.

Campsite - on arrival we were greeted by Mickey who made us feel very welcome and guided us to our pitch. The pitch had amazing views of the sea and the beautiful church with spire.
Showerblock - warm, clean, lots of space, what else can you ask for?
Campsite is well managed and quiet times at evening are monitored which helps when you have children.
Pub - 3 min walk from the campsite, nice country pub, friendly, food tasty and reasonably priced. The Quiz was great fun and suitable for all the family.
Nearest beach is Sandsend - we drove and parked in the new car park, which was about five mins away in the car. We drove with beach stuff as the hill to the beach is steep.
Sandsend is clearly becoming very trendy with really nice cafes and f&c but no arcades which is good imho. Pizzas were our favourite and we sat eating them looking out over the beach.
I did walk up and down the hill to the campsite which I enjoyed as the views are fantastic.
I’d recommend the campsite to all, great value for money.
