This was a great campsite, we've been here twice now because we liked it so much the first time! The facilities were good, toilets and showers clean, they have a hair dryer as well. The washing up area is great because you don't have to be outside. The local area is beautiful. We went on a few walks, went down to Sandsend which was a very good beach.

Found this site by accident when looking for a tent vacancy in Whitby. Originally booked for 1 night only, but the weather was good and the lovely staff allowed a further 2 nights. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities were kept very clean and tidy. An excellent site I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you and well done!

Brilliant campsite. This was our first stay there and we were certainly not disappointed. Toilets and Showers excellent in a very modern building. Warden very very helpful and friendly as indeed was the Owner. Extremely easy to get into Whitby. There is a small shop in the village for essentials together with Post Office. The Stiddy Pub is right outside the campsite. The only downside regards the pub is that it only does meals on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime. Well maintained campsite. Could do with a bit more attention to getting rid of the weeds and the road into and off the campsite is a bit rough. All in all this is a brilliant campsite and we had a wonderful holiday. We would thoroughly recommend this place.

Nice small site - Selected it because of the 9/10 reviews, sea views and proximity to the pub and was available at 1 days notice of booking. Although we may return, do not think its 9/10.
Nice but small site, polite welcome with information about allocated pitch number, community shop opening hours and pub meal times.
The medium size tent pitch we were allocated was in the middle of the field close to the toilet block. Didnt realise until it was too late after setting up that we were opposite a family staying in a Pod with 6 noisy children playing football. May have asked to switch pitch to a smaller one at the back closer to the distant sea views.
Toilet block OK - Could have been cleaner but not the worst weve seen. Lack of loo rolls.
The pub wasn't open Saturday afternoon which was a surprise - opened at 6pm. So instead we drove down to Sandsend and had a paddle with the dog and had icecream. Lovely beach, super clean!
The local shop has a selection of most items you could need including cakes and local wine.
Overall good site, slightly bumpy pitch but good grass. Site could be maintained a little better, but probably will return.

We stayed for 3 nights from 04/06/15 - 06/06/15. The site reception were welcoming and the pitch was a really good size for our 4 person tent and car. It was on a slight incline, but as long as you pitch the tent in the right direction it isn't too bad.
A great point is that all the pitches have an electrical hookup. We didn't use this as we didn't have a cable. Or anything electrical. But seeing how useful this was, we may be investing in a cable for future use!
The tent pitches are well sheltered by mature trees/hedgerows, and despite some strong winds, we were barely a ripple on our tent fabric.
The toilet block was lovely and warm with nice music playing, but was often flooded and mucky. The latter I feel was due to users and not any fault of the owners.
There is a washing up block consisting of a couple of washing machines, a freezer for ice packs and a double sink for dishes. There is also 2 drinking water taps.
You could also rent a firepit for around £15 for a night, which although we didn't do, looked quite a good idea.
There is a pub called 'The Stiddy' just a couple of hundred yards from the site, which serves decent pub food on Friday and Saturday evenings only. The landlord was friendly and the service was good.
In terms of location, the site was around a 90minute walk from the centre of Whitby. There is a 'beast' of a hill from Sandsend going up to the site, but the view is worth it and there are some lovely (but expensive) beachside cafes in Sandsend.
There is a bus stop just next to The Stiddy, and the buses are every 30mins. Last bus back from Whitby is 1935hrs. The cost for 2 adults, single to Whitby was around £5. 00 and obviously around £10. 00 for the return. Journey takes around 15mins.

A lovely campsite, We had a lovely time, pub across the road owned by the campsite did excellent food, and lovely staff. The views were lovely, and very close to the toilet block at any point on the site. Very compact site, but they could have done we a few less tents. Or open the other field, It was lovely weather but we were pack in like sardines.
I was a little put off with a family allowing their children to play football at 5. 30 in the morning 3 days in a row, we didn't want to cause a scene but I know it woke several tents up. After all its common curtsy that there is no noise after 10PM, why is it not enforced prior to 7am.
I understand kids wake up earlier and I'm not adverse to this, but to have parents shouting whilst they play was unacceptable and felt the wardens could have had a quiet work. No pun intended.
You have to be quick with the showers, the hot water runs out if your not there early. - I don't think the showers were cleaned daily, looked lovely on the Friday but by Monday looked grubby, and had a lack of loo roll. There were plenty of toilets and showers for the site, but flooded a couple of times.
Overall even with the minor issues, the site and its pub is beautiful. Best lasagna I have ever had, bring your appetite as portions are huge.
Go for the views but I wouldn't encourage children as there isn't enough space to play unless you go to another field.

We stayed here Friday to Sunday. It's a lovely, small site in a pleasant area.
The toilets and showers were clean and warm and there were no issues with the EHU power supply. There is a freezer for ice packs in the washing up / laundry room.
The owner and on-site wardens were very helpful.
The local shop is great for essentials and we had a lovely meal at the pub.

Clean site lovely views bit windy as high on hill overlooking the sea, 300yards from main road so no road noise, Warden helpful and friendly. Toilet block warm clean & tidy, Pub is a couple of hundred yards from the site so no late night noise and it is warm & welcoming. Pub food is reasonable with warm desserts.

A real find this site, situated close enough to walk to and from Sandsend although the walk back up the bank of about 3/4 of a mile certainly blew some cobwebs out. The Stiddy situated at the front of the site is a great comfy little traditional pub which serves great food and a good pint. We found all the staff on site most friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely be visiting again

This was a repeat visit as we were here on two occasions last year. On this occasion we had three nights as the sole occupants of the site. This a great small site the caters for tents, caravans and motorhomes. There are a number of pods also. It is a very relaxed site with excellent toilets / showers. Some of the H. S. Pitches have sea views and over to Whitby. The wardens who live on a van on site are very friendly and helpful. The owner who is equally as friendly and accommodating lives and owns The Stiddy Public House at the front of the site. The pub which is extremely friendly does very good food at reasonable prices and serves real ale. Both the site and pub are dog friendly, there is a half hour bus service from the site entrance into Whitby and Middlesbrough (and then beyond in both directions). There are an increasing number of dog friendly establishments in Whitby, Becketts in Skinner Street was particularly so and served superb and slightly different delights. Walking from the site is excellent with a choice of coastal and countryside walking. Our next visit is not far off.
TV reception was poor or in our case non existent. Free WIFI is available in the pub but this is to be extended to the site within weeks but not sure if this will also be free.
