This site is a good old fashioned, perfect place to relax, get right away from the hustle and bustle of life.

We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who gave us all the information required. It's not a big place but has all you need.

The shower and toilet block is spotless and warm with under floor heating (bonus)

The pub at the end of the road (all owned by same family) serves a good range of drinks. They serve great home cooked food.

The site is in a lovely village not far from Whitby, which is a lovely walk on a fine day, you have to like walking, otherwise there is a bus stop at the end of the lane if you don't fancy the drive.

We had a brilliant weekend, will definitely be back.

Great location for getting about, great pub attached for lovely meals reasonably priced.

Lovely owners always available to help. Immaculate and clean shower block and toilets. Laundry and pot washing facilities all inside.

Had no children so couldn't comment.

My only dislike was pitches were not level but the good outweighed the bad so would def return.

Friendly and helpful staff. Toilets and showers clean and warm with plenty of hot water.

Pitches not marked out, but plenty of room, but we visited in September and the site was quiet. 16A electric.

There is a pub adjacent to the site and a village shop across the road.

Nice walks in the area

Booked the site due to the good reviews on here.

Main problem was the shower block, plus side, it was warm and plenty of warm water, minus was it needed a good scrub, I did see the lady cleaning the block but by the following morning it left a lot to be desired, the mop for cleaning shower area out after use was dirty and the water in the mop bucket filthy. One toilet blocked with poo and paper, no toilet paper in one. Not nice especially as was in my view relatively expensive.

We booked four nights but stayed one. Read the terms and conditions and it was clear there would be no refunds so just bit the bullet and moved on.

The views of the sea were a long way off and some pitches had no view at all. Dog bin overflowing. Food from pub was mixed, husband had steak pie and it was good, I had garlic mushrooms and chips as I couldn’t see a vegetarian option on the menu, the garlic mushrooms were awful, couldn’t taste garlic, they were soggy in a sort of soy sauce. Chips were ok though but at £24 for steak pie and my edible plate of chips and a pint and a half it was an expensive meal.

There are good reviews so just have to presume we are too fussy as this site did not meet our expectations

Good points. Near to pub. Dog friendly. Dog walk on site. Quiet. Nice lady in reception who I think has too much to do possibly. The church nearby is a must visit.

Last minute break camping, not had the tent out for about 6 years.

This site was emailed along with around 8 others the Thursday early evening before Easter w/end enquiring availability. The site made contact via a phone call within the hour, .

I hadn't made a list of where & who I'd sent emails too, but thankfully I'd only picked sites around Whitby & I wanted to stay in so when this site owner rang me I had no idea which site! but he needed an answer there & then as he would be phoning the next person on the list. Being a bank holiday I knew I was pushing it for a place so I just asked did it have a sea view??.

Yes was the reply, so I booked & paid over the phone "3 nights, £72, 2 adults, 1 dog, no electric". He then sent a tx with directions, still non the wiser exactly where lol !

Arrived about 5. 30pm, lady at reception pointed to spot where we were to set up. In hindsight wish we had gone back to lady to make sure we weren't taking up too much room as we tried to give the neighbouring campervan their privacy but made sure we left enough room for another tent beside us that they would be next to a little tourer van that looked like it had been there a while.

Anyway once pitched up a gent came along to couple up an electric point ready for a new neighbour he didn't say otherwise so I thought we were safe but later that night a camper van came along trying to get in the spot between us & the tourer, realised next day when we came back from being out all day he also had a large awning to attach, so we ended up being only about 2ft away from each others bedrooms lol "I say bedroom but think they used the awning as kitchen". Anyway like I said before in hindsite I would have camped slightly closer to other campervan.

We did have a sea view. It might have been a mile away lol but we definitely did have a sea view, loved sitting out each morning with a cuppa "sun was blaring" & then on an evening with a glass of wine or a beer.

Lovely clean site, plenty of bins.

Actual shower rooms clean & toasty warm, but let down 2 of the mornings I tried to shower as the water was freezing, was about 8-8. 30 so maybe all the hot water had gone by then, didn't try evenings, but did overhear neighbouring campers saying how cold the water was after their evening shower.

Sorry cant tell you if & what they sell at reception as we only noticed it open the night we turned up, not that we needed anything.

I believe the pub owner also owns the site, so if any problems arise I'm sure help would be at hand quickly.

Ice cream van came on site each evening.

Clean Grassy area to walk the dog. Lots of dogs on site, all kept on leads & well behaved.

Had a meal & drink in the pub "Stiddy" 1st evening, recommend the home made steak pie!. The best pie I've ever had! Large portion, Packed with meat & lovely pastry!. Partner had scampi & looked envious at mine all way through the meal lol.

Was Expecting to see real ale but alas other than bottled speckled hen & bottled black sheep "think it was" that was it, oh & the usual fosters & Carling. Oh! & another lager but forget the name, we actually had one with our meal, that was nicer than the usual 2.

2nd evening we just had the one drink, I had rhubarb/ginger gin & tonic, partner had bottle black sheep & we took away a bottle of house wine for back at the camp, came to around £20.

Site is perfect for us walkers, by the side of the church is a lane that takes you to the Cleveland way, either turn right for whitby or left for staithes, we went whitby, enjoyable walk along the coast & back.

We enjoyed our stay here, perfect base for whitby & surrounding areas, nice & quiet, just how we like it & would happily stay here again for that reason.

 Stayed here for 2 nights.

Quite a pleasant site with friendly patrons. Lovely views from some but not all pitches.

Short drive to beach but not easy if you're walking. Site is dog friendly.

Would stay here again.

Great site with level parking. Facilities clean, but busy.

We only stayed one night at a cost of £20 including EHU. Despite a quiz night at the 'local' the site was quiet.

We stayed as we wanted to visit Whitby Abbey - rip off -car park by Abbey costs £2 for first hour and £1 per hour subsequently, plus as OAPs cost of entry £7. 10 each.
