We have been coming to this site for years, both camping and with motor home our third motor being a classic mk 2 transit or banger whichever way you regard old vehicles! The manageress always remembers us as we had a lucky escape one year because of a faulty gas heater which gave us carbonmonoxide poisoning - we ended up with emergency ambulances an hospitalisation our claim to fame.
We think the site is excellent all facilities are constantly improving ie new central toilet block being refurbed. Does sometimes get bit rowdy and for some reason some people seem to enjoy making a mess in toilets at night but this is NOT the camp managements fault It is always spotless the following a.m. Although there is no family club, there are plenty of facilities within 5 min walk we love it

Just returned from a weekend (24/09/06). We arrived latish and were told to choose a spot on the left hand side of the site, the main camping field was closed due to it being late season. We choose the last row of pitches on the left, this placed us around 250 yards away from the best shower and toilet blocks I've seen for ages. These were immaculately clean and of a very good standard, best of all the showers were hot and FREE. Our pitch was on a row about 150 yards long, it had a water standpipe at each end and six dustbins in the middle (as did each row). Each pitch had its own EHU and the ground was level and well trimmed, super. There was an older (but still very clean) toilet block in the middle of the site that also had covered pot washing facilities. There's a Spar and camping shop less than 5 mins walk from the site as well as numerous fast food outlets. The Spar opens till late. I must agree with emmanealy though, some of our neighbours were, well, I'll just say not your usual camping folk. Still Towyn attracts a lot of young people so I suppose it should be expected that the odd rowdy teenager might be staying. All in all it's a super site at the edge of Towyn. If this site was in St Ives I'd go every chance I could.

Hello, Not long got back from Henllys Touring & Camping Park, and what can I say this site is top quality, the owner was very kind as this site is a family site, but let us stay on condition of good behaviour our age's 2 male's 23 and 20, and 1 female 21, (but we arn't typical hooligan's) we stayed in the camping field, which I will add is massive :) there's at least 100 foot between your tent and someone else's. Facilities are brilliant, free shower's and a laundry facilty is on site and a place to wash dishes as well, also toilets of course and (hope the women who runs it reads this) there's a hot food and drinks van on site, which is run by a very nice lady (thanks for the egg's 31/08/06) so fresh coffee, tea, and top quality breakfast food at good price's. Only draw back was the toilets were too far from the camping ground, but apart from that it was all good and if we were allowed we would go back there anyday. Toilets are very clean and set out in a modern way. Thanks for a very nice holiday Dave,Knowles,Nik

Our first experience of Henllys came earlier this year when we stayed at the adjoining Ty Mwar site. We drove on the site for a look and were very impressed! We have since visited Henllys a few times and always find it to be a wonderful place to stay. Toilets and shower blocks are spotlessly clean, noise is minimal and the staff friendly. There is a small food stand on the site that sells sweets and hot food at very reasonable prices (The egg and bacon baps are out of this world!) and the Spar shop has undergone a refit to become a larger, well stocked store. My only small complaint would be that some visitors do not clean up after their dogs despite the signs, and the excellent dog walk area to the front of the site is sometimes rather messy. We have also found little "presents" on the grass outside our awning from irresponsible owners. We are going back to the site this weekend and looking forward to it!

We have just returned from a weekend on henllys and had such a good time we are planning our next visit for later this month. There were 5 adults and 6 children in our party of 2 tents. On arrival we didnt think it would be possible to pitch our tents as the field was so packed, but we managed to find a great spot . Playing facilities for childen is a bit sparse, but that said our children still went off and played. Toilets and showers were very good, as is the small van offering hot/cold food and drinks if you cant be bothered to do your own! would definitely reccommend this site to others.

Lovely camp with excellent clean toilets and showers, the owners are very friendly and the campsite is very clean and close to local amenities. We stayed in a tent with electric hook up and did not have any problems. There was an adventure playground for the kids and a dog walking field for the four legged kids. Would recommend this site to everyone and would defiantly stay here again.

This site has everything it says on the other reviews, close to Towyn, big camping fields, lots of immaculate clean toilets and showers. £15 per tent per night for seems like a fair price until you see the people that are using this site. Don't get me wrong I am not a snob or in any way prejudiced but loud, rude, crass and bad mannered people seemed to have flocked here from all over the UK. The site itself although big is lovely, the camping field large and flat although 1 tap and a bit far from the toilets did annoy slightly but not a big deal. What was a big deal was the so called "family" groups drinking and swearing at the top of their voices at all hours. Our group had a few drinks once the kids were asleep but these people used every four letter word loudly enough to see people blushing with embarrassment. Be warned, a lovely place but a magnet for neighbours from hell.

I had a great stay at this well kept site, the toilets and shower block are very clean the water is hot. The site also has a laundry which I found useful and you can also go to the caravan where hot food and drinks are served by a very friendly lady all day. All in all I would go back every year cause its near to all the shops markets and local attractions. Please give this site a try you will not be disapointed

We visited this site during the spring bank weekend, We actually recommended the area to friends (who joined us for the break) after a visit to the nearby Ta Mawr site 2 years ago. On arrival we were processed in (after having booked well in advance) without any fuss, the tent field was open with plenty of space to pitch our 2 tents. One of our party had a caravan and due to the previous heavy rainfall (throughout the entire UK) found it difficult to get a dry pitch (but managed after a little perseverance). As the weekend went on the caravan area seemed to drain fairly quickly. Back on the tent field, It was extremely windy during set up and unfortunately within 2 hours of us finishing, the wind changed direction by 90 degrees. This caused us some minor problems to start with. We considered re-pitching but decided against this (which was a sensible decision as the next day the wind changed 90 degrees again). We took a number of children aging between 15 yrs and 18 months old, by and large they seemed to be able to keep themselves amused in the play area (although they would have liked a few more things to play on). The local fairground was in close enough proximity to the site for the older of our clan to visit on the evening. The site does not have any shop, but there is a well stocked burger bar that seemed to satisfy our kids' needs. The toilets were very well maintained with regular cleaning being carried out (I even witnessed the gents being cleaned at 10 pm on one evening). The shower blocks (which look a new addition to the site) were excellent, we found them clean, with constant hot water. There is also a laundry on site which we did not have to use, but comments overheard from other visitors sounded very good (ie - irons and boards all set out for use) We noticed that the noise from the the nearby Ta Mawr night club seemed to be louder on this site than we remember it being on an evening when we actually stayed on the site. This did not cause us to much grief as we found we were turning in at around the same time as it closed down anyway (around midnight). I observed that the bin areas on the field were cleared regularly. The only down side to the area was that the local spar shop (which was being renovated) was lacking the basics forcing us to go further afield (in the car) for our shopping. All in all - very nice, we would certainly consider going back to the site as even after 2 visits to the area we still did not manage to do everything we wanted to do in the North Wales area. There just seems to be so much to see and do, some of the scenery is just breathtaking.

Henllys is a great all round family site, I have been going there since I was born with my family in a caravan. I now continue the tradition by camping there in a tent with my partner and friends. It has such a great location with the fair beach a fabulous market and food/shops just minutes away. It is child friendly and has very good clean facilities. A place to be proud of
