August 2005 Well What can I say, we first visited this site with tents in July of 2004. We just happened to find the site by chance and thought we'd give it a go. Price wise was quite reasonable and we personally felt we got value for money. The pitches are well set out and not in any way cramped, it was almost like pitching up on a putting green the ground was so well kept. The facilities couldn't be better. The shower / toilet blocks were clean and spacious. You didn't feel like you were imposing on the next person who was using them and vice versa.
We returned in May of 2005 again with tents. Only this time it wasn't as warm. Whilst pitching up, it actually snowed! but it didn't spoil the break we had there.
The next time we visited was in July 2005 but we had upgraded to a tourer. Yes it was slightly more expensive, but not by much considering we had an awning and hook up.

August 2005 Just returned from a short break, our first time here, had lovely time. Site quiet, clean, secure. Went with just partner and even tho there were lots of kids we had no problems with them, infact they were too busy in the park and playing to annoy anyone one. A slight gripe tho, a small club on site would complete this really nice family site, showers & toilets were spot on.
Local shop, a Spar, were low on stocks but they are about to improve facilities. Arcades and beach are nearbyand the bar off site was a bit boring but found another just a short walk in opposite direction.
Fantastic views, large site but sectioned off with shrubs making the site more cosy, oh and if you're up early you can see rabbits hopping round your tent / caravan. There is plenty of room between tents / caravans.

July 2005 Henllys is an excellent site and one that we have used for a few years now but a few things that I can't understand -
The pricing structure when Ty Mawr are charging £8 per night for Caravans up until 22nd July and it includes passes for all the facilities on site and it is now classed as high season??????.
Why oh why are the ladies toilets situated at the back of the block?, for all the excellent work that has been undertaken surely it could have been looked at?.
Why has the families only sign been taken down from the sign on the dog walking area?. Surely the policy hasn't changed.
A couple of negatives I know but would recommend the site to anybody.

July 2005 Arrived on a Sunday and we were told not to pitch on the tent field but in between the caravans. We could not find any even ground and had a VERY uncomfortable night on bumpy poor quality grass. We will invest in a decent blow up mattress next time! Also the toliet block in the middle closed at 10pm which wasn't too good. However the camp site is in a great location and the loos were quite clean.

June 2005 Stayed at this site for 1 night only as we were meeting up with family on another site in Llandulas. We didnt arrive till 9pm and left the next day about 10.30am much to the dismay of my kids. They thought it was great as they could run around and play with the other kids without fear of anyone telling them off. Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to explore the area very much and will definitely go back for a longer stay.
The owners seemed very nice we paid and they told us to find our own pitch and although there were plenty of people on site there were still plenty of good pitches to choose from. They were nice and flat, the grass was in good condition and the facilities were very clean.
There is a local store (Spa, I think) a short walk away where we were able to purchase stuff to make breakfast before we departed, it was well stocked too. We didnt notice until the next morning but there is a pub very close too.
I noticed they allow tents to pitch alongside caravans and motorhomes (I think these pitches are the electric ones though so probably a bit more expensive than the normal tent pitch) but this is a plus point as we intend joining up with other family members for camping trips and we all have different units.

May 2005 A really good site, showers and toilet facilities were very clean most of the time. My one grumble about the toilets is that they close the middle toilet block at 10 pm and if you are pitched on the bottom field its a quite a long way to walk if you are desperate late at nite.
The camp is clean and flat and evan though we had 2 days of rain it was still easy to get the car off the grass. It is a very quiet campsite (except for the sheep at 4 am lol) apart from that we had a really lovely time at Henllys and will be returning in the very near future.

August 2004 Having visited Henllys with my wife and three children I must say I found this site absolutely brilliant. There is security on the entrance which do a great job, noise, disturbance and riff raff of any sort are not tolerated and may I say all the amenities are very clean and well looked after. We enjoyed 8 nights stay and would definately do it again. In fact only last week it was packed out with no vacancies. So as far as I am concerned, Henllys keep up the good work your doing a brilliant job.

August 2004 We have just got back from a 3 nights short break at Henllys. We had a great time, the campsite is lovely and clean, and is very family orientated. The showers and toilets were always in a clean and tidy condition and there was always plenty of hot water available. The only slight complaint was the wash area for pots/pans etc. This could do with a bit of an overhaul, as the sink area was rusty and sometimes got blocked up, causing it to be a bit smelly at times. Other than that no major problems with bad behaviour or noise. So would go back for another visit and would recommend to others.

August 2004 Have stayed at this park numerous times and would definitely recommend it. We found the shower block and toilets to be very clean and also the toilets have plug sockets - a must for hairdryers etc (!!) We always stay in a 3 man dome tent and I agree with the previous reviews that the rates are a little expensive - £13 a night for a space in an unlit field with 1 water tap. Ok there maybe some noise after midnight but it's to be expected from people who are on holiday...... would rather have that than traffic niose from 6am in the morning. The tent field is that big you can go camp in a far away corner if you choose. A big plus for me is that this time there was a hot food van onsite which was ideal for a quick coffee fix in the morning!! In summary this is a clean site in a good location. Hope you find this helpful.

April 2004 onwards Having been going to Henllys for over 15 years I find some of the comments a little petty!!. The pricing structure is below other sites in the area and the facilities have been upgraded in the past few months. The owners are not to blame if a few scallys get through the system this is a reflection on society that we have to live in!!. The new shower block is excellent and a welcome addition to the site. Having decided to put our caravan on the site for the whole season the price paid was £200 cheaper than any other site in the area, which I hope will not change for next year!. One little gripe is that there is only one chemical point and maybe this could be looked at for future development as I can't imagine everybody making the effort to walk to dispose of the waste. I would also ask why the toilet block in the middle of the site closes at 10pm??????, In April and May I can see the point but not in July and August when the site is packed????.
