We are a family of 6 and we went to henllys for the first time for a week, and what a fantastic time we had, we will Defo be going back next year but for 4 weeks maybe 6 weeks!
The site is fantastic very clean and friendly site, security at weekends and owners drive around camp regularly.
The showers and toilet blocks where very clean and laundry was brilliant all washed and dryed within 45 minutes. (would like to see a bench outside the laundry room as weather was amazing)didn't want to sit inside)
The park kept our 4 children good.
Was lovely to see the wild rabbits every morning popping out the hedges.
I have already reccomended and will continue to do so.
There is a burger bar on site which do amazing hot chocolate and there is a shop very close with a chippy.
Little more than I originally wanted to pay for my holiday but well worth the extra few pounds.

We have just returned from our camping trip to Henllys and for our first time camping, we have to say we were very impressed.
The site was spotless - the bins were emptied 3 times a day. The shower block was huge and once again, spotless. The toilet were also very clean and never ran out of toilet roll.
The showers were free and sufficient for what you need. There were washing up facilities with free hot water.
There was a burger van on site, with a very friendly owner, which we used once for breakfast and the food was delicious.
The views from the camping field were fantastic and really made it a pleasure to get up in the morning.
From the camping field, it takes about 2 minutes to walk to the toilets so whoever feels they have to drive there is purely being very lazy!
There is a small adventure playground for the kids which didn't fill a lot of their time but we took plenty of stuff for them to play with which we could easily do with the huge amount of playing area we had.
The site is very close to everything you could need for a family holiday. The beach is a short walk over the road. There is a big funfair plus horse racing track. There is an Asda on the way into Rhyl plus a Spar and camping shop for essentials right next to the site.
We will definitely be going back to Henllys and really can't wait.
I have rated customer service 3/10 because the man in reception wasn't very friendly but we didn't see any owners again after that so it didn't affect our stay.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Henlleys, this was our first visit back here for around 18 years so we noticed quite a lot of changes, all for the better I'm pleased to say (site owners still not the happiest people in the world). Not the cheapest site in the world but the facilities are good with plenty of free hot water for washing up and free hot showers, all the toilets and shower blocks were kept spotless and rubbish bins were emptied very regular. We had an issue whilst there with a family that thought it was there right to make as much noise as possible, we went out for a drink at 10pm only to find the noise was still going strong on our return at 01:45am, a quick call to the site owner got him out of bed and visiting the culprits resulting in the arrival of 8 police officers within 10 mins and the family being thrown off the site the next morning. I only have one gripe about our stay and that is we were charged £3 per night for a dog. And my other half did comment on how far the toilets and wash up facilities were from the tent field. Would I go again? yes.

We went to henllys for our once a year family trip. We had two caravans and five tents. Ten adults and eleven kids. The camping field has been upgraded with electric pitches all over and better roads and layout of pitches.
It has great views but is a bit of a walk to toilets, with little ones. The place is kept very clean and tidy. Two toilet blocks, one with showers inc disabled.
Has a burger van open till eleven at night. It is close to all shops and fair, market etc. We found the owner really nice, she drives round site keeping an eye on things.
It has security at weekends. We were very happy with the site and are hoping to get a seasonal pitch next year. We stayed for five days inc weekend and had no noise or other problems. The prices may seem a bit much compared to other sites but the pitches are large and level
I think that there is only one other site in towyn that caravans and tourers can camp together and I would definitely choose this one first.

We have just got back from a Bank holiday weekend and only our second time camping the first of which was horrendous.
I found the campsite very clean and tidy, nice flat field all with electric hook up each with a night light fitted.
Toilets cleanish but some dirty toilets and hair in the sinks this was down to other inconsiderate people not the cleaner who cleaned each morning. Showers were clean too but the push button type which didn't last too long but water was hot.
On our arrival we were told to find our own plot and not given any advice over the use of showers etc.
My negatives of the site was that there was no rules on noise we had the tent next to us with the tv on until 3pm. Also swearing from campers even fighting at 2pm. Tent next to us in my opinion far too close but when the owner drove around in her car she didn't seem to be bothered.
Don't know if I would use this site again if I did I would choose a better plot maybe not in the middle. Slightly over priced at £30 per night for 2 adults and 1 child

Just got home from a great weekend at Henllys. It's a return visit after a 6 year break due to a family member illness. I was really looking forward to the return. We would have come at the last bank holiday but broke down six miles away at Rhuddlan. Not to worry, our trusty VW Camper; Bobby, made the trip and we were so happy to get to Henllys at last.
It was great to see the standards on the toilets and showers are as high as they were back then, but the best thing was the way the field has been transformed, that was a fantastic surprise. The new setup feels an awful lot more secure, gone have the boy racers skidding between the tents, replaced by a really good and well made layout. Well done Henllys.
Only gripe was we were charged £54 for two nights, VW camper and small awning, 2 adults 2 kids. Think we were charged 2 quid a night too much. Not to worry, and coz I hate asking for a couple of quid back, it was never going to upset our break.
Bottom line is that this is my favourite campsite in the area, and I will definitely return because I love everything about it. Security on the gate was a good reassurance.
The Wendover Pub, just outside the camp has closed and is boarded up, but only a few more paces and another good club that takes kids too was our new beer hole. Many thanks to the management, you have done and continue to do a great job running this fabulous campsite.

Just got back from a long weekend at this site.
The toilet and shower blocks are clean and always have plenty of hot water, also on site a good washing up area, laundry room, and a burger van.
Well kept grounds, but the spaces are close to each other and very regimental.
Close to all the local attractions, fair ground and beach, with a few shops, but a large Asda just a few miles up the road at Kinmel bay.
The site owners didn't come across as the happest of people but once pitched up you didn't see them again, only when they came around to empty the bins.
Over all a good site but a bit on the expensive side as we paid £30 per night.

I really like this site, it is at the heart of the entertainment centre approx 5mins walk to everything you need from shops, pubs beach, fair, market, chipshops, restaurants ( a touch further)
It is a gorgeous large site with views to really look forward to. The toilet and separate shower blocks are immaculate. I completed my booking over the phone, it was easy and all based on a friendly manner. We were at this site for nearly a month and felt safe when we were away from site due to security at the entrance of the site. The owners came round on a daily basis to empty the bins. The site itself is very very clean, and the play areas for the children are in excellent condition and safe. I am booking again for this year and would have no problems recommending this site to anyone.

Brilliant location, nice clean site, plenty of electric hookups with lights on them too. Which we thought was brill. All the facilities were clean and had hot water.
Good for exploring the area with things to do, there is a small fun fair up a side street and a few shops in the area. A pub is practically next door ( which is very good to chill out after putting the tent up) and a few more 2 minutes walk away.
Asda is 5 minutes away in the car or by bus. Could do with a new playground in the area were the tents are pitched. A bit over priced though. We liked the thought of security at the entrance too.

This was our second time camping in Towyn, the first was at the larger Ty Mawr site last year. We arrived on a Saturday at Henllys after booking in advance for two pitches.
I was worried after paying, when we were told that the site was quite full but ‘we should be able to find two pitches together’. We had booked electric hook ups which were situated around the outside edge of the site and the problem was that the non-electric campers were pitched in the spaces reserved for the electric. We eventually found two spaces and pitched.
The site itself is very clean, with the tent field being regularly cleaned and rubbish emptied. It is very flat and ideal for big tents. The toilet block is just away from the field (100m and some campers had to use cars to get to the toilet) again they were spotless.
They did shut this block from 10pm-7am so you had to go a little further towards the entrance when they were closed. The shower block is massive with clean showers and hand basins and I would imagine it takes some doing to keep them all clean. The showers were free and were always hot, Though they were on those push button taps that last for about 5 seconds.
There is a very small play area for the kids and it did seem a bit of a way out, Our children are a bit older so we weren’t too worried about them going but if you have young children you may want to keep them nearer.
The site has laundry facilities which we did not use. I saw a huge amount of gas bottles for exchange so if you need one I am sure you can get it here.
There is a burger van on site but as a chef I can say with total honesty that I saw some very suspect food handling routines. There are no shops on the site but just outside the entrance is a couple of takeaways, a pub, two camping shops and a Spar so no problems there
A little further down the road is the beach, two fun fairs, scores of amusement arcades, pubs and a chemist. There is a nice open air pub/restaurant called Knightlys, and a great cake shop on route .
Unfortunately the weather on this occasion spoiled our trip (But I can’t blame the site for that) and my only real concern is the lack of any allocation for the electric hook ups, If you have booked a week here with a group, you expect to be able to pitch together and it was quite stressful finding a spot.
On the whole a very clean site in a great location with very nice people, Hope to return soon
