We stayed at this site for May Day weekend, it was fairly quiet and on the whole not too bad. The toilets and showers were not brilliant and could do with being updated. We had a meal in the club house which was a bit hit and miss, my husbands cheaper meal was far better than the steak that I had ordered, on the plus side when we complained they were happy to only charge half price!

Tesco express and local pub 2-3 mins by car.

About 10 mins drive from Gosport ferry terminal and Naval Dockyard.

If we needed to stay in the Gopsort area for a short period again we would consider using this site.

Rubbish site, just got back and if anywhere else had spaces we would have moved. Pitches and site is mucky, walls need painting, toilet blocks are busted, smelly, dirty.

No play area for kids and the site seems to be full of really really old caravans and permanent residents! The barrier was broken so had no security, street lighting was mostly bust, shopkeeper kept on trying to short change the kids when buying sweets.

This site must have been a 'Has been' site and now needs a massive revamp. Only go if you have to! The nightly charge is far too great for what is offered.

The site is fabulous, clean, a great little club house with a bar, restaurant and games room. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially the lady I spoke to (Sue).

A well looked after and thoroughly friendly site.

Taking advantage of having no children for once, my husband and I spent 3 nights away at this site over valentines.

We arrived early evening and got our swipe key from the bar as the reception is only open in the mornings at the moment. Each pitch is on a hardstanding, with grass all around. There are various picnic tables around the site. We noticed a lot of caravans seemed to be empty from early morning till evening. There wasn't a holiday feel about the site and it looked quite tatty. However the toilets and showers were very clean although there was no hot water for my husband to have a shower at 7pm on the Saturday, and there was never any soap in the dispenser in the girls bathroom.

The money had obviously been spent on the clubhouse which was great. The bar served cheap pub grub and the adjacent restaurant (where we had our valentine meal) served a comprehensive a la carte menu which was very economical and tasty.

Yes, the main road nearby was quite noisy, but we were not disturbed by the clubhouse noise at all.

The worst part of the site is their policy of not allowing you to park your car on the site, once you have set up your caravan. All cars must then be parked in front of the club house, in a public, unlocked car park, out of view from the caravans!

On the whole, we do not think this is a site for children. (The children's room is filled with arcade games and there is no room to kick a ball about), but if they changed their policy on car parking, and we needed a base in Gosport, we would definitely visit again.

We have just spent a week at this campsite and found it good. The actual pitches are hard material with grass on either side making a clear boundary of what is 'yours'. The high hedge at our backs kept the wind off. There are picnic tables dotted about and we had one which we found very useful.

The washrooms were clean. Not spotless maybe [eg cobwebs] but certainly clean and kept so. There was never a shortage of loo roll, nor of liquid soap at the basin and the hand drier worked. The showers would have benefited from a partition to protect clothes / towels but hung on the door they stayed dry too. The water was hot.

There was noise from the clubhouse on the Friday evening and some on the Saturday until perhaps 11pm otherwise the site was quiet.

A cycle path crosses the campsite entrance leading to numerous others. The bus-stops for Southampton, Fareham and Gosport ferry are right outside. There is a pedestrian gate at the bottom corner of the site through the mobile homes for quicker access to the beach or the next bus stop for some additional buses.

The staff are friendly and we can only say the site is especially central for those who choose to leave their vehicle behind and use bikes and/or buses.

I have not visited Gosport for over 10 years, So it was a joy to find the Kingfisher Camp site open, good, friendly and quite. Very near the cost.

The toilet block was clean, though the showers were cold (it was -5 at night and frost on the ground) so the boiler to warm the water had to work hard.

The bar/clubhouse, well stocked and clean. The food is good and at a reasonable price, though I would up grade the restroom interior, the wooden pampling is so 70's.

A good camp site to visit and to used as a base for the the area around.

We stayed here for one night, we did not use the bar and club but heard it until late in the evening. We were woken at 6 in the morning by residents moving a caravan. There seem to be a lot of residents living in assortment of tatty vehicles near the entrance to the site. The security is good, one swipe card for the entrance is provided for a refundable deposit. The swipe card also allows access to the shower and loos not a problem if there are only 2 adults.

We stayed at this site 5yrs ago and were not impressed thought it unkept and disabled facilities were poor, ie toilet crammed into the boiler room. However as we didn't want to tow any further towards Portsmouth on M27/A27 which seemed to be constantly gridlocked with road works. We decided to give Kingfisher another try.

We arrived at 9pm and were booked in without hassle and shown to a large field where we picked corner pitch plenty of room as there were only about 6 units on field. The ground was in good

Condition considering it had been raining for days. We didn't need to use the porch awning as

We had so much privacy with windbreakers, though there was plenty of room if we had. The site is very close to the road so we knew about the traffic noise but it had increased very much in the few years only thing that spoilt the week as even the rain stopped next day.

This site is great for parking up the car and using the buses to explore area they are very frequent. The car parking in Gosport is plentiful and ferry to Portsmouth great We went over to Ryde without the hassle of the car ferry.

One of the main reasons we chose to come to the area. Lee on Solent is ideal for parking and walking not good on shops but Gosport has all you need and we discoved they have a street market sat and tues.

Now back to the site.

We didn't use the club/bar so can't comment on service or food as there was a 2 for 1 pub five minutes walk away we went there.

They had made improvements to the disabled facilities which are now ok. Only used one of the toilet blocks which could have been cleaner as there were only a few to use them don't know what they are like during peak times, but plenty of hot water to showers and washing up area. Only complaint was having to use swipe card to enter block which was also used for the barrier a pain if you left it in the car at night.

This park is all on level with footpath towards Stokes Bay 5mins walk which is a lovely quiet spot with views of the Isle of Wight. Nice cafes at either end of prom. Don't expect fun fairs or arcades probably not a favourite with teenagers but paddling pool etc for younger children.

This site is in great location not too far to tow off motorway good accress plenty of room to park when booking in something not always available. Great staff well stocked shop all in all a good site but let down by the first impression you get when arriving onto the campsite which is spoilt by the scruffy area on your left as you enter. It appears that the caravans which have seen better days are used by people working in the area. (Judging by the vans starting up early hours of the morning.) There is also a lot of old junk hanging about this ground. This really spoils the park feel of an other wise tidy site which could be still improved wonder if this is why it was so empty in July.

Perhaps its not everyone's cup of tea but we liked

It so much here we stayed an extra 3days and most will probably return some day.

A nice quiet site situated in an idal location to get to portsmouth vis a ferry.

Mainly used this site for the portsmouth run but also for the gosport bonfire night, just down the road from the site. It was a great evening with funfair, fireworks, a great big bonfire and all in aid of the navy here.

Shower block not to bad but could do with remodernising. With only one keycard hubby had to follow me to them so he could take the card incase he needed to use the block while I was showering.

Local pub on site was nice and the restaurant served up a nice meal.

Overall nice and would use again

Initially I wasn't sure that the location of this site was likely to result in a great site, but it wasn't too bad. While not fantastically signposted it was not too difficult to find once you'd reached the road that ran along the Solent, I approached from Lee on Solent and found it a couple of miles on towards Gosport.

The sea is only a five minute walk from the site and is pleasant enough to take a stroll on and look at the various ships anchored on the Solent, but I wouldn't plan a day at the beach to bathe and make sandcastles.

I received a friendly welcome in the reception/shop which seemed fairly well stocked. The site is large and relatively well kept, much of it taken up with statics. The touring pitches are pretty flat although you may need your chocks to level your unit out, they are also fairly well spaced out.

The site could do with a few more paths so that you don't have to walk on wet grass to get to the toilet block, which was OK, largely clean but not immaculate. The TV reception was 100% perfect, terrestrial and digital, probably the result of being very close to lots of large towns and cities.

My only whinge would be that the power was down in the morning and this appeared to have been planned. I spent quite a bit of time changing the EHU around and even checking my fuses, I later discovered a note on the toilets saying the power would be down for three hours, it would have been appreciated if I had been told this when booking in.

So overall I'd probably give this site about a 6/10, could do with a little more care and attention from the owners, it's OK for a stop over for a night or two, but that would be about it, but I will not mind returning if in the area.
