Very convenient campsite for visiting friends. The showers and toilet very clean. Hot water available at all times.
Liked the code for barrier in and out, also code for toilets though not very disabled friendly.
A bit expensive for what it was. Could do with grab handles in showers and a seat or bench for those less able. 2 hooks in the shower would be more use than the one provided.
Appreciated the hard standing and tarmac paths as it has been so wet!
Staff helpful. Did not use the restaurant as we dined at Pebbles at the end of Stomes bay where there is parking specifically for motorhomes and campervans.

We have used this site for several years as it is very convenient for us when visiting family and friends,
We previously thought it was very expensive for the tired facilities but continued to use it solely for this purpose.
However, we have been very pleasantly impressed with the changes that have been put in since our last visit. Nothing major but they have all added to our experience.
The showers have been updated and are now much cleaner ( although still lots of cobwebs in the rafters), warm and with plenty of hot water. However, as a previous reviewer commented, the combination lock is difficult for visually impaired. There doesn’t appear to be any specific facilities for those with physical disabilities either. A flip down seat and handrails in one of the showers might be helpful.
The club house was very welcoming (especially with the bad weather). Food, although basic fare, was good and prices are reasonable. Nice to have some on site entertainment. All very well organised and adhering to social distancing.
The best thing for us though, as we now have a young puppy, is the access to some amazing walks.
The real plus points for this site is the location. Minutes from the beaches of Stokes Bay and Lee on Solent, walks across the Browndown Heath, the Alver Valley Country Park and the Solent Airport to see the Spitfire.
Another bonus are the bus stops outside the main entrance giving easy access to Gosport ( the ferries to Portsmouth and the IOW), Fareham and all the way through to Southampton
We have a larger motorhome and some of the pitches are a little short but you are free to choose and they are mostly hard standing.
One specific gripe are the poorly kept caravans on the left of the entry barrier as you come into the site. We think they are workers caravans ( possibly working on the major roadworks locally). We do not object to them being there but would appreciate them and the area being kept tidier and cleaner
Overall a very good stay

My stay was fine but, there’s always a but, the electrical hook up failed, this resulted in me not being able to charge my electric bike, or make a decent breakfast.
I wasn’t offered a partial refund or offered a reduced extra night which would have been nice.

Handy location with bus stop right outside and frequent service into Gosport, where there is a frequent ferry to Portsmouth. Ferry crossings to Isle of Wight are quick and easy - but need booking ahead (If only a few hours).
Basic food is available from the on-site bar along with some decent beer and the usual bar drinks. Relaxed camp site with hard standing, grass and hookups.
Secure facilities with coded locks and some control over the numbers using at any one time during this virus time.

We felt it was expensive. However it is very well positioned for the beaches, ferries, buses and great cycle paths.
We felt it lacked TLC. Maybe living on its location and the fact that’s it’s the only touring site in the area.

Lovely location, bus stop right outside should you need it. We had a motorhome so relied on it. Site itself is clean and was nice and quiet, although there was families on site.
You can choose your own spot which is nice as other sites tell you where to go. On site pub and restaurant which was open till 9. 00pm with good social distancing.
Would highly recommend
