A lovely site, Seems to be split into 3 sections, a small electric field on the right of the Reception with 4 rows which is where we stayed and two fields either side of the lake which were busier. The staff we helpful and the toilets and showers clean although the showers were very hot but free! The play area was good for children under 7 and the bar was small and friendly. The road to the site was a nightmare, small bendy and hilly - BEWARE. I would recommend this site, nice and quite. You must go to The Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and the Big Sheep. The Tunnels Beach is a must, worth paying for and fantastic for kids. Woolacombe beach was packed and full of surfers.

Hi myself my wife and friends visited this site for a week in August and had a very relaxing time The fishing was good although at times a bit busy (but it was peak season ) The shop had all your basic needs. Food in the restaurant was excellent and keenly priced and clean as was the bar. The staff were jolly and helpful. Overall the campsite was good and pitch prices reasonable. The shower block could do with a revamp but dont let that put you off. We used local transport using day tickets £2.90 which we thought were good value to see all the sights. Bus stop ten mins walk. The bar was a bit quiet (my wife likes her karaoke) but we still had a good week and will visit again. Highly recommended and will tell all our friends

This was our 4th year at Mill Park, we usually go out of season while our 7 year old is on 'Inset week' when it is a bit quiet with not many children about. This year we went as a group of 3 families with a mix of tents and a caravan. We also had electric which is a first. With the recent heavy rain, the site was understandably soggy but bales of straw were plentiful and the staff very helpful. The showers/toilets have been smartened up and are cleaned twice a day. The old pub has been turned into a cafe and bar (very low key). The shop was well stocked with all the usual items. The new owners seem to have the right idea and we enjoyed it so much we are planning to return for 2 weeks with the 2 other families next year.

Arrived late afternoon to a lovely greeting from friendly helpful staff, when shown to our pitch we thought it was very small, all of the other caravans, tents, motorhomes were far too close together, some seemed to have only a four foot between them! The pitch we were shown to was at the roadside in the main field which is not a problem noise wise, but it is certainly not level and had a slight incline and with the amount of mud at the site after a heavy downpour it was difficult to get onto our pitch, everyone was being towed on or pushed on by the staff with a tractor. The staff were continuously bringing round bales of straw to try and dry the ground out a bit. Because the pitches were so close no one could park their vehicles by the side of their units so it looked like a car park with cars parked both sides of the road making access to our pitch difficult, because we did not have the swing to get onto our pitch. On the good side the toilet blocks/showers were free and seemed clean at every visit, children have a great area to play and there are some well stocked course fishing pools. The site shop/pub/takeaway were all great and reasonably priced. Watermouth cove is only a short walk away, Berrynarbor is also a short walk up the lane and is a beautiful village, with little pot people everywhere! They have just won best kept village 2007 and you can see why. A word of warning do not go in a factory holiday or bank holiday, I can imagine the site being very nice at a quieter time.

Narrow road up to site so beware for caravan users. Site could do with updating showers were ok along with toilets but more regular cleaning would not go amiss. Children play area basic with no safety covering on ground. All in all site not to bad but there are better in area for same prices

Just returned from a weeks stay. Agree with comments regarding facilities. The site itself is very pretty and quiet at night. Could do with the toilet and shower blocks updating and some more lighting around the site especially on the top field where all the tents are. Situated ideally in the middle of Ilfracombe and Coombe Martin. In easy driving of lots of attractive places to visit.

We stayed at this campsite last minute for 3 nights on our way home from Cornwall. We found it very pretty with the stream running through it and my husband enjoyed the fishing. I think the toilet / shower block could do with some money spending there but they were ok. Kids 5 plus would love the zip wire over the stream. I didn't think the pitches were that big if you would be staying more than 1 week.

Great position, quiet site with no noise at night, very pretty and sheltered. BUT I would echo the comments of others about the facilities - we were there in high season when even the 'smarter' loos and showers were simply not cleaned often enough. I actually complained about it (the first time I have ever done so) and the loos were spruced up a bit, but this should not be necessary. Out of high season, they would probably be adequate. Watch out in the shop - they are not above flogging out of date goods! Some of the hook ups are also well past their best, and need tweaking to restore power. What a shame that there has been no money spent on the basics for years - with a position like this, they could have the best site in Devon.

We have just returned from 4 nights on this site. I didn't book until 2 weeks before and was delighted that they could fit us in at short notice. I agree with other reviews - the toilet blocks could do with modernising, however the facilities were adequate, more frequent cleaning would improve their appeal. The pitches were level, a good size and although the electric hook-up pitches are fairly close to the road the noise was minimal, we didn't find it a problem. Not much for older children to do however my youngest really enjoyed the rope swing across the stream. I would use the site the site again if we were in the area.

August 2005 Lovely site in very pretty setting which is close to most of the sites of interest in North Devon. We were in the furthest field which is nice and flat but quite noisy from road behind the trees.
Main downside for us was the very basic toilet block which was the worst we have experienced. Very tatty and not at all child friendly. You can use main toilet block but long way if kids are small like ours. Also dishwashing sinks were very close together.
All in all loved the site but not the toilets - we will return but to middle field which seems to have better facilities.
