Arrived on site about 2pm and reception was closed with no indication of when it would be open. A very poor quality map was left for us showing us which pitch to use and after spending some time sorting out where we were supposed to go we were very disappointed at the appearance of the site. Grass was just a mass of overgrown dandelions and daisy's.

Toilets in much need of updating. Showers very small and water took ages to run hot. Pot wash/laundry room had massive cobwebs hanging down over the washing machines.

The shop/reception only opened for a couple of hours on the Saturday morning and the bar opened Friday and Saturday night but we did not use it.

The whole site needs major investment to bring it up to today's standards it is stuck in a 70's time warp.

This was a lovely site with a fishing lake. Lovely scenery and good welcome. It was very convenient for regular buses to Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. Very nice Walk to local harbour and coast path. Pub UPHILL in village (5 minutes) or down by harbour (10 mins). Good friendly clubhouse. Clean facilities.

 Nice site

Not the cheapest of places we have stayed at for the same standard of facilities dogs extra, awnings extra, etc

-nice pitches if a little close together for my liking. Free showers and plenty in both mens and ladies could do with leaving a mop and bucket in there as some of the time there was a mess inside the cubicle and you couldn't wash away.

Bar a nice idea only used once.

Nice fishing lake hubby used a few times.

Big field for walking the dog which was great and plenty of dog bins.

Free wifi but could only be accessed by reception and there is no where to sit indoors if the weather not good which happened to us so a bit disappointed by that.

Close to Ilfracombe 10min drive which has a lidl if grocery is needed and a great restaurant 'smugglers'gets very busy but you do get seated and served quickly but the food is great, big portions and cheap.

My one gripe was the young girl who worked the weekend her attitude left a lot to be desired not very helpful when asked about the area and a very couldn't care less way-she was also serving in the bar on the night and her language was not good especially as there was young children in ear shot.

Have just returned here after a couple of nights in one of the new 'Glampods' with the family. I don't often write reviews but thought I would this time.

The glampod seemed like a great idea, particularly after the heavy rain fall we have experienced in recent weeks, taking away issues of erecting a tent in the rain with young children in tow and flapping canvas, chilliness etc.

We arrived at the site to find the shop and reception closed (it was 6pm so fair enough) but the key and booking confirmation in a holder outside the door. There was no other info other than a very poor quality map. The glampods were situated in a nice spot overlooking the lake in an elevated position. We parked in front and climbed the huge concrete steps. Each one being upto a foot high, quite hard work, especially when unloading and really tricky for my three year old, who got quite panicky after falling. Also not lit at night. I think an oversight has been made here, someone could easily fall and do themselves a mischief.

The glampod was very new, with the smell of fresh varnish still present, and clean with a kettle, heater and power as stated when booking. One thing that did strike me was the fact that the whole building was slightly sloping towards the front, maybe a spirit level when siting might have been useful! There was a good picnic table and gas barbecue. We never used this, as the shop wasn't open to obtain the grill.

The drinking water tap was a little distance away, I am surprised provision was not made for this when siting the glampods. A stroll down to the toilet and shower block found quite new and plentiful facilities. Good, hot showers and never an issue finding one available. The sign stated that they were cleaned at 10am and 6pm. I'm not sure this was the case, however, as the mud on the floor changed little and no one was to be seen at the stated morning times. The combination of mud and water made the floors slippery and hazardous. I am sure they were not forgotten and totally neglected, just not as good as some other reviews I have read might suggest.

The washing up facilities were under a canopy, as most sites tend to be. Unfortunately it was not possible to get anything other than cold water from the hot tap at any time. The lighting in this area was outside the canopy, requiring a head torch if using it after dusk.

Overall, I felt that the site was nice, but something of a missed opportunity. It didn't feel as loved as some we have stayed at, with little staff presence (the reception and shop closed most of the time we were there, despite a 'back in 15 minutes' sign on the door). The majority of caravans appeared to have been there all season, with long grass growing around their edges and not occupied. I could understand this atmosphere at the very end of the season, but this was during the main summer holidays.

With more TLC and attention to detail with the Glampods (a tap nearby, safe steps etc) it would be perfect.

Would we stay there again? Maybe, though there are lots of lovely sites in the Ilfracombe area.

Have stayed at Mill Park several times, a nice clean family run site. The fishing lake is well maintained as is the whole site. The toilets and showers were always clean but we have never stayed in the peak 6 weeks. The dog walk is a nice field which our 2 dogs enjoyed especially as there were rabbits to sniff out. The children's play area is very basic, but overall the site is good value for money with a pub closeby for good food which is also dog friendly. A great site to explore the North Devon coast.

We've just returned from a really lovely week at Mill Park. We camped on the bottom field which is surrounded by trees and close to the bottom shower block which was modern and spacious and more than adequate for the amount of people on there, lovely hot showers and plentiful washing up facilities. However, if I had a gripe it would be that there was nowhere to plug in my straighteners!

The problem with being surrounded by trees is that there was very little evening sunlight and the site is at the side of a fairly busy (at certain times of the day) road from Combe Martin to Ilfracombe (although it was shielded by a number of mature trees) and did produce quite a bit of road noise. Having said that, if you can get beyond the road noise, it is a lovely site, the fishing lake is pretty (the hubby caught a good few carp (20+ over the week) although not very large ones by his standards) and there is a pub on site and a good dog walking area. We saw woodpeckers and kingfishers on site and when the evening set in the owls were lovely to listen to. The night sky was brilliant with little light pollution and we loved the stone circle!

We didn't use the shop so I can't comment on that but we did use the ice pack service (50p per block with a 50p per block deposit which was fully refundable).

Combe Martin (about a mile away) is quite limited but perfectly adequate for day to day needs and is in a lovely bay but there is also a lovely beach close to the site and a very pretty harbour at Watermouth about 10 minutes walk away. Ilfracombe is beautiful but if you want great beaches, Woolacombe and Saunton (wow what a beach!) are about 10 miles away and are dog friendly however Lynmouth was the star attraction, Valley of the Rocks is amazing and definitely a must place to visit.

We really enjoyed our week at Mill Park, overall the site is very well maintained although some of the pitches did seem close together but would we visit again? Yes, absolutely, the staff were friendly and helpful (especially Poppy) and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thank you all for a lovely week.

I have given an overall 8 out of 10 because we have camped in some amazing locations and we have visited sites with exceptional facilities so I've had to keep my scores consistent with those given to other sites.

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Mill Park Farm and will definitely be returning next year. The site itself is lovely & the staff that we spoke to were all very friendly & accommodating! The facilities are more than adequate and the toilets & shower areas were always clean and there was always hot water. Excellent value for money! I would definitely recommend this site.

The campsite is situated in a lovely village close to both Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. Whilst we were there we also visited Lynton & Lynmouth, Barnstaple, Bideford, Westward Ho! And Woolacombe.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago, and were pleased with the facilities and the site in general. There is a fishing lake for anglers, which was very pretty, and also a shop and laundry/drying/ironing facilities. The showers were very good, with nice hot water. It was also very reasonably priced at just over £11 p/n including EHU, with our Seniors discount! The only slight downside was that we had to use our portable sat dish to get TV reception, as digital was poor, but the site is in a valley so it was to be expected. The nearby Berrynarbor is a very pretty village with lovely white cottages, and we also visited Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth, which are very unique villages, plus Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, which has a fantastic beach for surfing. A well-located site for the area and we would recommend it.

Went to this site for 4 nights and what a beautiful one it is with most things you would need.

Bus stop at the end of mill lane to ilfracombe or combe martin every hour. I only went to combe martin on the bus and it cost £1. 25 each way which is reasonable.

Fishing was fantastic and one day the hubby must have caught around 30 fish and at £2. 50 a day ! a great price.

The bar which opened as a day room for the use of wifi was lovely and comfortable and the toilets where modern and clean.

The chap on reception was always pleasant and helpful. The kingfisher was lovely and it was bliss lying listening to the owls. A fantastic site and staff.

We have recently returned from this site and overall very much enjoyed our stay. This was the first time that we had stayed at this site although we are very familiar with the area and visit it a lot. We found the site very friendly and were given a pitch right next to the lake where we witnessed the catching of some very large fish (carp we were told). The site was very quite with no children at the time of our stay (there is a good play area provided). It is a very shady protected type of site and sits low down with hills both sides, therefore keeping you out of high winds. The pub on site is very pleasant, and the ladies showers and toilets were lovely and warm and pleasant. The only gripe I would have is that there is no where to put your toiletries in the shower. The water was lovely and warm and just the right temperature. I cannot comment on the washers and dryers as I didn't use, also the games room wasn't open and the shop wasn't open until the day we left. This I think was because it was so quiet. The site is in a good position close to Coombe Martin, Ilfracombe etc and I would recommend it to anyone. The only other thing that I would mention is that there are a lot of 'permanent' type vans with awnings around the lake area which were closed up. Also it pays to mention when booking as we did that you would like a good television signal. Apparently some pitches are not good. All in all a nice welcoming site.
