We enjoyed our five night stay at this well organised site, despite the British weather. The facilities were good, although, as mentioned in a previous review, the lower toilet block floor was often wet and muddy. Our children (7 and 12) enjoyed the play area, especially the zip wire, and we enjoyed watching a pair of buzzards regularly flying over our field.

We used the camp as a base to explore, and visited Woolacombe, Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands, all of whish were great for body boards and surfing. Coombe Martin is a lovely village with a quiet beach, where delicious fish and chips to be found (opposite the 'Outdoor Shop').

We would all like to return to this area, and will definitely stay at Mill Park when we do.

The staff were friendly on arrival, but our hearts sank as we were shown our pitch, a complete boggy mud bath, the mud was coming up through our ground sheet and we had to use bin bags to stand on! when I complained I was told to help myself to wood chippings (would have been nice if this had been done prior to our arrival). It had been raining but the drainage is terrible, standing water and thick mud on the roads and pitches. The site has a scruffy feel to it, with weeds growing on some of the pitches, it is very overcrowded, and there is no room to play games.

The toilets are cleaned twice daily! a door mat and a mop would have been nice and would helped with the mud that is all over the floors. The showers are just a wet room, with no shelving or stool, so you have to balance everything on 1 hook, the walls and flimsy plastic soap tray are filthy so you have to put your shampoo on the muddy floor. I had move to a different cubicle half way through a shower on 2 separate mornings, as the water went freezing cold.

The play area looked lovely, with a zip wire over a little stream. But children couldn't play on it as it was covered in thick boggy mud. Have been touring for 8 years and have stayed at all types of sites, can honestly say this was the worse one! ruined our holiday and we even left and came home early for the first time ever. Such a shame as this site could be so pretty with a little love and attention. Avoid unless you like bad facilities and lots of mud.

Have to say, as first time campers, my wife and I had a great time. The pitch was very large, good job as we had a large tent. Loads of room for car also.

The Staff on the site were very friendly and always happy to help. The toilet and shower blocks were cleaned twice a day making them a pleasure to use, only one thing they could have done with a mop to go over the floor after showering as it soon got wet and dirty.

The site is well run and all kids play area's are closed at 9pm. There was one occasion when some people were very noisy for 2 nights but the staff soon sorted the problem out and offenders where asked to leave, to the pleasure of the rest of the camp site, well done staff.

We will be coming back again next year, even bring my fishing rods as the lake is full of carp. Sure the wife will be happy about that!

The pub on main road by the camp site is ok, basic and slightly on the pricey side. However turn left out of the camp site gate and a pub 10 mins up the road on foot is top's. Family friendly and well run.

A quiet, relaxing and very well run site. Ideal for families. All facilities provided are well maintained with the toilet/shower blocks spotless and cleaned at least twice a day. There is a play area, shop, bar and restaurant/take-away. Plenty of information available in reception and all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The pitch we were given was very spacious. The on-site fishing is excellent. A proper lake with plenty of fish. We caught fish every time we used it. Within walking distance are two lovely pubs, serving good food and family friendly.

Plenty to do in the surrounding area with excellent beaches and attractions a short drive away although traffic in towns such as Barnstaple and Braunton can be heavy.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this site.

I have just returned from 10 very happy days on this campsite. We found all the staff very helpful and welcoming. The laundry room has two washing machines and two tumble dryers; however it does not have a spin dryer for hand washing. The room also doubles up as the washing up area and is shut between 9pm and 8am.

There are two toilet blocks, both of which were kept clean, however the floor was constantly wet and hence muddy. It would have been nice if they had provided a mop in order to dry the showers out after using them.

The play area is good, the zip wire across the small stream provides fun for all ages and is locked at 9pm, ensuring those camping nearby have a peaceful night. This is the only real area of site that allows children to play as the pitches are very small. Most are just the width of your unit, Caravan + awning or a normal size family tent. There is a very small gap between each unit and cars have to be parked just off the road and in front of your unit leaving either no space or very little space to sit and have a BBQ, let along play any games with the children.

The site is situated in a good area, with lots of things to do. After 10 days, we still had more places to visit on our wish list. Using some of the narrower roads reduces travelling time and these were very quiet even in the middle of august.

 I stayed at this site for 4 nights with hubby & children : 2 & 4 years.

Found the site friendly and pleasant as were the people who worked there.

We had EHU and a level pitch but found the pitch sizes a little on the small side. They were accommodating and gave us an end pitch to allow for extra room - we have a Vango Diablo 600 ( dome with 2 pods & a porch). Perhaps I've been spoilt in the past with roomier and more private pitches! Saying that, others had larger tents than ours and had 2 pitches but I'm not sure whether they had to pay for 2.

The shower block was adequate and was cleaned regularly with lots of free hot water and enough room to shower my toddler at the same time.

The play park was small but well thought out for all ages with a sand pit and rope swing across the stream. It was nice to have use of a baby swing.

We ate onsite the first night in the family room and paid around 4.50 for burger and chips which was nicely cooked and a generous portion.

Well situated for touring the local area. Watermouth Castle is a must for anyone with young children - however ours is afraid of mannequins and there are plenty in the first section you go through and some of them move!

Woolacome beach is fab. Clean, lifeguards, dog free area. 6 quid to park but well worth it.

We walked to the pub at the end of the road one eve to eat. (Take a torch for the return journey!) The food was nice and fresh but the decor and toilets were lacking attention.

An enjoyable break on a pleasant site.

Got there on a nice sunny Saturday.Put the tent on a muddy pitch but it was to be expected with all the rain that we have had this summer. Liked the shelter from the trees. Didn't like being kept awake by the disco until about 4.30am.That only happened on the one night. Showers and toilets very clean. Shop very handy staff very helpful all in all a lovely site would stay there again didn't want to come home after a week even though the weather on times was terrible.

Just returned from 2 weeks here. Had quite a lot of rain at the start of our holiday & unfortunately the site turned into a mud bath. As a result it wasn't very pleasant around the tent, play area or down at the fishing lake . We were situated on the main field & the pitches were very close together making it difficult for children to play, as there isn't anywhere to play traditional ball games. The staff who are very friendly & helpful did their best by putting down straw & bark. Definitely pack a pair of wellington boots you will need them if you get any rain. Also, because of the rain the usual gentle stream that flows through the site was now a raging river, so we could never let our son out of our sight.

On a more positive note the shower blocks were cleaned twice a day and despite the mud they were kept clean, as were the laundry & washing up areas. There is a shop that sells the basic usuals including an ice pack service. £2 deposit & 50p per pack to hire. You can't freeze your own. The cafe serves a good breakfast on saturday sunday & mondays. Evening meals were basic but cooked & served very nicely.

Outside the site there is a country lane that you can walk with care up to the village.Isn't a lot there apart from a church, a pub & houses serving afternoon cream teas. See how many 'flowerpot Men' you can spot! Watermouth castle is a good day out. My 6yr old son loved it. Coombe Martin beach is good for rock pools. Ilfracombe had a tesco somerfield & co-op. Cafe Creme opposite the crazy golf on the seafront serves good coffee & has wireless connection.Just ask for the password.

In summary was a good site but because of the mud & the worry of the stream we wouldn't return here unless we had a rain free summer next year!

We have just returned from a two week break at this site. The weather was not that good but we still had a good time.

The bottom field is for non electric pitches and is better than the other locations on the site. The pitches are very generous, the site was clean and very quiet. Even despite a lot of rain the bottom field stayed fairly dry unlike some other areas of the site. The new shower block is great and is cleaned at least twice a day. All the facilities are excellent from washing up the showers and toilets.

The fishing lake is very pretty and ideal to spend time when the weather is not very good.

When the weather improved we visited several beautiful beaches near by.

We did eat in the restaurant but the food was not that good. The bar did lack atmosphere and as said in a previous review the regular female bar staff was not that friendly. Which was unusual as all the other staff were helpful and polite. There was always several staff on site to ensure everyone was behaving themselves.

We had a fab time and are thinking of going back.

This is our 1st time on this caravan site and we were very pleased with the site as a whole. The showers and toilets are clean and practical and showers are hot. The area is sheltered with the whole site having a lot of tree cover around it. There is a small area with swings and slides etc for children. There is also a lovely stream running around the site and I guess families with small children would need to be in mind of.Although we had days with lots of rain the ground did seem to drain very quickly. There are 2 pubs of decent quality food and drink in 10 mins walking distance. It is about 4 miles from Ilfracombe and 11 miles from Barnstaple. We would visit again. Well enclosed site with a shop offering most essentials. There is also a bar which opened up at weekends - probably more during high season. All in all a great site and we would re-visit again. Fantastic area.
