We chose this site for our first camping experience and are so glad we did. We were in the bottom field, only open in the summer, with its own shower and washing up block. The only downside to this was we were quite far from the play area so had to always go with our 4 and 7 year old to play. The play area itself had a tire zipwire and a fab little stream to paddle in. The showers were wonderfully hot and clean. The toilet area did get muddy at times but this is to be expected. Dishwashing area had three sinks so plenty of room. We were happy with the size of the pitch. You do have to park your car in front of your tent but not sure if this is the norm.
The local area has masses to do. We had a lovely walk into Berrynarbor itself: beautiful views, playground hidden away, lovely tea shop. We went to Ilfracombe, Croyde, Woolacombe and other beaches. All fab. We also went to the Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur park which is home to the man who lives with wolves. Kids blown away by sealion show and wolf talk (as were we). Some cute rides, others not so great but a unforgettable day out overall.
The shop was useful and well stocked. We didn't use the pub but the takeaway was reasonable though quite slow.
Overall, would recommend and planning to go back next year!

We stayed at Mill Park for the bank holiday weekend. Because we booked late we were placed in the bottom field on which there is no electrical hook up. We were greeted at reception by a really happy, helpful man who explained all about the campsite and surrounding areas and where we were to pitch our tent.
We found this campsite to be lovely. The bottom field is surrounded by trees and a beautiful waterfall (kept me up the first night but then you get used to it!). The shower blocks were absolutely immaculate with constant hot running water. The shower cubicles could probably fit about 4people in quite comfortably! There were hairdryers that cost 20p and never went off until you put them back in their holders - which is very useful if you don't have electric.
The shop is small but had the basics you would need and little extras for camping equipment.
The take away was of a good standard, didn't have to wait very long for our dinner at all and breakfast in the morning was good also - £3.50 for a large full english (just a warning have breakfast as early as possible as kids were playing pool right where we were eating our breakfast).
There is a lovely pub called Ye Old Globe less than 5mins walk from the site that serves fab food and has an indoor children's play area.
All in all we found this to be a clean, safe, friendly site, ideal if wanting to go out for days and use this as a 'base'. We will be going back again next year.

We know we went at a busy time of year, but on arrival the main field was cramped, we were given a pitch in the bottom field which was a tiny space between two other large tents, however we rang the owner and said we would not fit on that pitch with our 'medium' tent and he did allocate another pitch with no problem.
The facilities were meant to be cleaned twice daily, on our visit both the toilets and the showers being muddy and dirty
The bottom field is next to a busy main road which did cause some disturbance.
However the location itself is a lovely well kept village, with The Globe Inn being very friendly and welcoming.

After reading mostly good reveiws about 'Mill Park' I booked in advance to secure my electric pitch. I stayed at the site for 10 nights with my wife and three children, 10, 06, 02yrs.
On arrival I spoke to the young girl at reception who was very helpful and friendly. I was given a map of the park which showed where I was to pitch. I was also given a list of 'Do's and Dont's' The list of don't's was much longer than the do's. Too many rules to stick to and a bit strict on first impressions.
Most of the pitches on the 'Stream side' area, where we were, are sloped with some worse than others and nearly all are in the shade by early evening. Our pitch was sloped, front to back, but okay. Good close electrics hook ups and water. The toilets in main block were cleaned twice a day to a reasonable standard. The mens got a bit grubby in morning but were cleaned in afternoon.
My wife told me that there had been a rusty hair clip, in the womens shower area, that had been there the full 10 days she had been using them. Good bar area and reasonable games room for kids, Kids play outdoor area was small, could do with a few more things for kids to play on. There is no where for the kids to play football or play games, you had to park your cars right outside your tent so all we had to look out onto was our car.
My main gripe about Mill Park is that there are caravans that are obviously static there all year round. We where situated opposite them and it was like looking out on to a caravan car park. There was no atmosphere, no other people excited to be on holiday, just dead caravans. When we sat out at night it was depressing to see redundant caravans with the grass growing high around them. My advise to Mill Park would be to put all the static caravans, not being used, in one area, so people who are coming and going camping can enjoy the holiday atmosphere.
Nice friendly helpful staff, couldn't do more to help you

This is the first year we have started camping with our 5 and 1 year old. We looked at many sites and thought the reviews for Mill Park were great, especially if you have children.
We arrived at the campsite which is beautifully located near the North Devon coast and were greeted by a very friendly lady who directed us to our pitch.
We found the pitch to be very small with hardly any room for the kids to play, hence, we had a couple of very grumpy children (and adults!). The field we were staying on had tents pitched round the outside and in the middle with a track running between them where the cars would drive to get to and from their pitches.
The kids park was OK, though it was not enclosed. There is a track running to a couple of the fields that runs beside it and on a couple of occasions there were near misses with kids running to get balls and cars going slightly too fast.
The toilet blocks were OK and we saw them being cleaned a couple of times a day. The facilities for families were not brilliant. The showers were in little cubicles and to clean our 1 year old, I had to try and get her to stand still under the shower while I cleaned her, trying not to get myself wet! I wouldn't have been able to shower both of us at the same time. On a positive note, for the whole 5 days we were there, we didn't have to queue for the shower once.
Although we were disappointed with the facilities for children, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The site has a lovely little shop and as mentioned before, it is in a great location to get to the beach. Berrynarbor (or fushia valley) is beautiful and has a great family pub called The Globe which has a soft play area out the back for kids and does lovely food.

Have just returned from our first visit to Mill Park and have to say we were very impressed. On arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly lady on reception (did not catch her name) and we were directed to our pitch which we found easily.
The facilities were good and clean (cleaned twice a day during our stay). The play area for the children is excellent. My five year old spent a lot of time here along with her friend and I felt safe enough to let her play without her having to be in my eyeline constantly - a first for me!
We sampled the takeaway one evening and found the food to be great. Simple takeaway food but cooked very well with not much of a wait.
We visited the pub and this was good as well. The people were friendly and there's a small play area in there which kept my two year old occupied for the whole time we were in there.
The fishing lake looks very good - my husband didn't take his rod this time but is itching to for our next visit.
All in all, I would recommend this campsite - we will definitely be visiting again in the not too distant future.

We stayed here in a tent for a week at the end of August just after the heavy rains. We had pre booked a pitch down by the lake which is mainly for caravans and hence the pitches are quite small but adequate. We found it to be a really nice spot and yes you do look out over other caravans and tents and yes it gets busy during peak times but don't most other campsites? Our two kids loved the site especially the lake and stream and felt really safe exploring on there own. Staff are really friendly and very helpful and the shop is well stocked. We always found the toilet block fine and it was regularly cleaned don't expect 5 star luxury on campsites. All in all a really nice campsite

All in all this is a nice site.
We arrived on a Sunday Morning, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. We were told our pitch number and went to set up. On arrival to the pitch it was a muddy wet mess, straw had been put down to try and dry it out but did not help. A nice man on the hardstanding opposite told us that to have a hard standing would not cost any extra as we were 'out of season'. We enquired at reception and explained that our awning would get ruined if we tried to get set up, the lady on reception informed us that it is no extra to have a hard standing and we could move. The hardstanding pitches were of a good size but some grass pitches looked small. The site is very sheltered by trees which is good.
The shower and toilet blocks appeared to be new and were of a good standard and clean, although I am not sure if they were cleaned every day (one shower has the same used plasters on the floor for 2 days)? There is a dish washing area and laundry which is locked at night. The play area looked great for the kids and had a zip wire across the stream. There was a site shop and what appeared to be a pub, this was not open during our visit.
Jamie enjoyed the fishing, it costs £2 per day, there are lots of big fish to be caught as well as some smaller ones, I don't fish but I enjoyed sitting with my book at the side of the lake watching the ducks.
The site is really peaceful and there is lots of wildlife to be seen, every night we could hear an owl outside which was nice.
Watermouth castle is less than 5 mins away and is great if you have children. Illfracome harbour is about 5 - 10 mins away and is very nice. The village of berrynarbor is a short walk away, here there is a pub and a post office and lots of flower men to spot!
The Sawmill Inn is not far from the campsite and is a lovley pub serving great food, I can reccomend the Tarragon Chicken!

Just returned from an absolutely perfect week at Mill Park. I would 100% percent recommend this site to anybody wanting to relax and get away from it all. We arrived after a long day stuck in traffic on the M5, even though the reception was closed our pitching details was left where they said they would be. We was also then greeted by a very friendly chap who also give us instructions as to where we needed to pitch. He also had the good news that the bar was opening that evening, which we was not expecting as it was low season. We needed two pitches as we have a large tent, as it was low season we was only charged for one (brilliant)
We pitched in a great spot (centre field) don't think it would matter where you pitched, the whole campsite has beautiful surroundings. The site is situated in a valley with a stream running through it and it also has a fishing lake. We didn't have any children with us but noticed there was a lovely play area. The toilets and showers was always immaculately clean and warm. The pot washing area was indoors with plenty of sinks and hot water. There is also a laundrette and ironing facilities. The bar which was reasonably priced was very quiet on the evenings it was open, but I think that was due to it being low season it probably gets busy in med/high season, when they do also serve food.
There are two country pubs, both within walking distance that again were reasonably priced and both serving excellent food.
Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe all a short ride away.
An all in all fantastic week away, will be definitely going again.

Visited this site after the summer holidays and camped on the top field with EHU the site was a bit on the muddy side but not to bad given all the rain of recent weeks there was some road noise from the nearby lane but little traffic during the night.
The site is kept very clean as where the toilets and shower areas which seemed to be heated as they were always warm, WE found the staff to be pleasant and always helpful all in all a very nice site which I would certainly visit again.
