Great site, Helpful friendly team. Pitch was an excellent sise with Hook ups and water nearby. All the facilities were very good. Toilets clean, showers hot and there was plenty of water in the washing up area. Only gripe is that could do with more tumble dryers.
Swimming pool was fantastic - very warm & clean and never overcrowded despite the site being busy. It certainly made the diffence after a long day out.Bude carnival is worth the trip & all the normal shops can be found in Bude
If you are more adventourous .Black Rock beach is nearby and great for surfing and evening BBQs. Whilst the Camel trail is a graet way to visit Padstow by bike for a day out. All in all a great family site with excellent facilities and great staff. They even posted our daughters Fleece back which we had left behind without prompting.
We will use this site next time we are in Cornwall and we would be happy to reccomend it

We stayed on this site for 2 weeks and were very impressed. The toilet facilities and showers were clean and the dishwashing area had handy drainers attached to the walls which meant we could wash loads of stuff without overloading the side drainer.
The swimming pool was lovely and warm, even on a chilly, rainy morning which was impressive. The pool also wasn`t too busy.
Our pitch was ample sized for us and we had two cars, caravan and awning. We did get a few problems with children from other pitches deciding that our pitch made a great spot to turn round after whizzing down the hill on their bikes, which did disturb our dog a bit. We eventually had to move one of the cars to the edge of the pitch so they had to stop before they got to us.
The shop had the main essentials but a food freezer would have been useful. We had no problem with noise from the road, and the kids loved the play area with the skittles and giant chess.
It felt a nice, safe place to stay, though some of the cars should take more notice of the speed limit, especially at corners. Also the dog loved the doggy walk through the maze of trees!
We would definitely stay there again

August 2005 Have just returned from a week at Budemeadows. The site was chosen based on the reviews posted on this site and the campsite didn't disappoint. A small friendly site that appeals to a variety of people with excellent facilities. The children loved the heated pool, play area and outdoor games. The toilets and shower facilities were in good condition and always seemed clean. However the auxillary toilet block was always busy and it would have been nice to have some separate toilets and sinks here as well which would help to speed things up. It was however a short walk to the main block, where there were additional facilities and no queue. All in all we had a great week and wouldn't hesitate to return to this site or recommend it to other people.

August 2005 Excellent site. Very clean and friendly with generous pitch sizes.
Pool is great though does get busy very quickly with children. Onsite bar is good with very reasonable prices. The Shop, however, is a bit limited with really only the bare essentials on sale.
The toilet blocks are very clean though the layout of the block closest to our pitch caused quite a long queue. Only two cubicles, each containing both sink and toilet and two seperate showers. If all you wanted to do was wash your hands you have to queue with all the people wanting the toilet. The other block however was fine with better toilet and basin facilities but still only another 2 showers (the male toilets anyway).
Site could get quite windy but I think that is north cornwall for you. Widemouth beach is not very exciting and was very busy with surfers and body-boarders, not really for swimmers. The beach at Crackington Haven is much better for swimming but the carparks there get busy quickly.
I would definitely go back to this site if looking for somewhere in this area.

August 2005 Went to Budemeadows based on previous reviews. Was not disappointed. Excellent site. Small and not too noisy - but still lively enough for the kids. Small bar with very reasonable prices. Warm swimming pool and above all everything very clean.

May 2005 Highly Recommend this site. We spent a highly enjoyable week at Budemeadows. Enjoyed it so much we have booked up ready for next year. Everyone is so helpful, the facilities were excellent, just so much for the kids to do of all ages it was great!!! Giant chess set, connect 4, skittle alley, table tennis, heated pool, games room, and so much play equipment there would no need to take turns. Even a toddler play area separate to the big ones. Small friendly bar with patio heater outside, barbecues are provided dotted around the pitches. The small site shop was very well stocked. The road did not disturb us at all, and its location which is just within a parking layby (very large) meant there was no need to worry about approaching traffic.

June 2005 This is a clean, well maintained site, with heated outdoor pool, excellent showers/toilet blocks, pot washing and laundry areas, good play areas, small games/TV room, onsite shop and bar with excellent local cornish beers. It has a mix of pitches ( grass, hard standing, ehu, non-ehu) and a quaint old fashioned feel.
Pitch size was fine for us, and the noise from the A39 was not troublesome for us despite being at the road -end of the site (though it could get worse in peak season, I imagine). There was a broad cross section of people there - couples, families, groups of young surfers, so it evidently appeals to a range of tastes.
It is 1 mile to the lovely beach at Widemouth bay, and there are lots of other attactions nearby. Altogether a great holiday location, and one we will visit again.

August 2004 Nice site, Clean and tidy. Toilets and showers were clean. Nice hot bath as well. We were in the lower field next to the childrens playarea which was great, no noise from road forgot about it being there completely. Not even too noisy with all the children in the park, was nice to keep an eye on our 2 without moving from the tent!. Pool is a good size but got very busy although it was high season. Shop well stocked. Did not use the bar, but good stock of alcohol in the shop. Overall nice big site, great for families esp in summer. Would i visit again? If i was to go back to bude then yes although i will probably explore other areas of cornwall first.

June 2004 7 night stay in June + 1 extra day, 2 adults in tent. Myself and Em realy enjoyed our stay here so much we stayed an extra day!! The toilets are clean and the pool which is spotless too, was an absolute boon taking into account we booked our holiday during one of the hottest weeks ever recorded in june! There is a small but friendly bar on site who give you a nice warm welcome and are ever helpfull with good places to drink and eat out. There's a reasonably stocked shop that holds all of the important goods you need and some of those you dont. Good play areas to keep kids entertained, although games room seemed a little dissapointing. The noise of the road wasn't a problem to us and we never noticed it even though it was the week of the royal cornish show. There are pitches well away from the road. If this is a concern you can pre book pitches in advance for small fee. Overall one of the best sites I have been to in more than 20 years of camping. Bude Meadows fulfilled every thing I want from my camping holiday and next year (2005) we will return.

August 2004 Nice site, although we found the pitches quite cramped. A few of the pitches were lovely and big though, so if you need room you'd be better to prebook one of those.
The play facilites are lovely, and the pools are clean and warm.
The showers, toilets and washing up facilities are first rate, always clean, lots of hot water, free hairdryers.
Couple of gripes.....unsympathetic welcome, after a 7 hour drive with 3 little kids we didn't have enough cash on us and we had to seriously grovel to be allowed to unpack the tent so one of us could start pitching while the other nipped off to the cashpoint just up the road. Other gripe is it's expensive (hence not enough cash!!), but I guess the facilities make up for it.
