Well this was our second visit. The first one being back in 2006 when we had a fantastic time with no concerns.

Since this time there are now new owners of the site.

You could not ask for nicer people to run this friendly, family run site.

The site was fairly full and the pitches had all had a good soaking. Our pitch had been well prepared prior to our arrival with a good layer of sand and a walking board had been provided to act as a walk way to enter our tent once pitched.

The site has a strict 5 mph speed limit it is just a shame that only cars and vans follow this code. Kids on bikes and scooters seem to be oblivious to this speed limit and it can be very dangerous for pedestrians. So watch out!

The little shop and bar facilities are great. The snack meals are a god send if you don't want to cook lots.

I do hope the new owners will invest some money into revamping the washing, showers and toilet blocks. They were ok but could be upgraded sooner rather than later as nothing seemed to have been changed since our last visit. But they were clean and as other people point out loads of hot water.

This is a fantastic site and great for people who have not done loads of camping.

The kids play area is great however the death slide caused a fair few injuries in the time we were there not because it is dangerous.Just lack of supervision by the parents in my book.I spent a fair few hours with my 6 and 8 year olds in the play area and watched in horror as 5 kids wizzzzzed down it over and over until it jerked them all off in a heap on the floor.

Supervision parents please!

The pool is fantastic and very warm.

The outdoor games by the pool are very tired and need some attention.

Overall a fantastic place despite any comments that sound negative.

We used the beaches in Bude most of the time. Lifeguards keep a close eye on you. The food in the seafront cafe is expensive and you have to wait ages. The Toilets are filthy and disgusting. It's the same in Widemouth bay as well!

Tintagel,Boscastle and Crackington Haven are great trips out as was the Otter Sanctuary.

We will go back to Budemeadows again I am sure

For us this was a very pleasant site as we had hardstanding.

Staff were OK, good shop and bar and the takeaway meals very good value for money.

Being so close to the sea it got breezy, but the hedgerows helped keep this down.

Toilets and showers were spacious and clean.

Very handy for Widemouth bay, where we spent a lovely afternoon. Lots to see and do nearby. I would go again if in the area.

But, the major downside is the mud. If the owners spent some money on the drainage problem this could be an excellent site.

I appreciate you can't control the weather but the pitches were sodden & muddy, drainage is obviously a big problem. We had pre-booked our pitch as we have a large tent but the pitches were small and we only just fit our tent and gazebo on. The toilet blocks were 'quaint' and showers not much more than a trickle but were very clean. We found that the owners didn't seem to mix and on the day we left they were there to check we had cleaned up our pitch (which of course we had) but not a word about if we had enjoyed our holiday or safe journey home etc.

The plus is the heated pool but kids must be accompanied at all times and the park is ideal for small children. We didn't use the bar at all so can't comment on this.

We have recently returned from a week at Bude Meadows. The previous week there had been heavy rain. Our pitch was waterlogged and very muddy. The owners did provide us with duck boards however as we were at the bottom of the hill, we had one of the worst affected pitches and the number of duckboards was inadequate although other less affected pitches seemed to have more than us!

The shower blocks were clean and had plenty of hot water however due to the sinks being inside the toilet cubicles, we did find ourselves having to queue for the toilets.

The pitches themselves were very small and the site felt very tightly packed.

The swimming pool was fantastic, clean and heated.

The nearby beaches were also great.

We have just returned from a nice week at budemeadows. We had poor weather while there but still had a great time.

Its a lovely site with reasonable sized pitches, although the pitches tend to get rather muddy in poor weather, perhaps a little more than other sites we visited during our stay. But hey, the owners cant control the weather.

The toilet blocks coped well given that the site was near full, although maybe a little dated but very clean and well kept. No problems with hot water there's plenty.

The pool is nice and warm (must cost a fortune to keep it at that temperature). It does appear smaller in real life than the pictures suggest as does the whole site.

The shop has every thing you could need and there is a morrisons about 3 miles away should you need it.

Grumpy petes bar is small but friendly, no music or tv in the evenings so can be a very quiet bar. The internet room ajoining the bar has computers for use at £1 per half hour. There is also a food van next to the bar serving breakfast and evening meals which you can eat in the bar, we found the food delicious and very well priced.

A perfect site for kids, ours are 8 and 5 and we let them play all over the site as its very safe 5mph speed limit which is obeyed as there are so many kids about on bikes. The play area is superb and there is also other outdoor games such as giant chess/draughts, giant connect 4, a skittle alley and table tennis, also the games room is good.

Overall a great little site, only niggle is the drainage issue which seemed to affect all the pitches, but in better weather I don't think I could fault it.

Just came back from a long weekend camping here. The site is spotless and the toilet and shower blocks the most spacious and best have ever come across whilst camping. The site is really lovely except that the pitch we were on became waterlogged after the rain on Saturday and was a complete mud bath when we left on Monday. We were given duck boards to get us from the car to the camper but packing up was a nightmare. I know we can't help the weather but drainage on parts of the site is definitely an issue. The pitches at the top of the site seemed a bit squelchy when we had a look but nowhere near as bad as ours so maybe picking your pitch carefully is the key rather than just seeing what you are being allocated (over summer you can pay extra to reserve a particular pitch apparently. But would definitely return here if the pitch was the right one. The pool especially was lovely.

This was our third visit to Budemeadows and once again we had a great holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the shop is well stocked including fresh rolls (for lunch) and airbed repair kits (for the hole in our airbed!). The showers/toilets and washing up facilities were always kept clean and our pitch was a good size.

Our children particularly liked the heated swimming pool and as we had good weather the week were there it was lovely sunning ourselves on the loungers by the pool and then swimming in the pleasantly warm water.

The games room was well used by our children and we all enjoyed our evenings in 'Grumpy Petes' bar. The hot food available was very tasty and reasonably priced.

We look forward to our next visit to Budemeadows.

On arrival we were met by a nice couple, and directed to pitch. All pitches are reasonably sized and nicely arranged. The toilets were very clean and nicely presented.
The playground which was a few meters away from where we were staying was a good place for the children to play! The swimming pool was closed this time of year and it was green and full of muck.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this campsite!

We had planed a very quiet Christmas and when we read the web site that said the pub, the shop and pool were closed for this time of year we thought this would mean we would get the quiet holiday we expected.

We were greeted by a pleasant couple and booked in. We were told a large party of caravans possibly eleven in all, came there over Christmas and on Christmas eve gathered in the bar to sing carols and the other visitors on the site would be invited, this sounded very pleasant but not some thing we would be interested in.

We were then shown to the pitch they had allocated to us, it was close to the bar but that was ok because the bar was closed for the winter. The pitch was very tight and the gentleman that booked us in help push our caravan in to the space as there was no room to manoeuvre the caravan with our car.

The shower and toilet area was spotless and there was plenty of hot water however the only heating in the large shower/toilet room was a small electric wall heater set on a low heat by the entrance that gave out as much heat as a lit match.

The disabled toilet was a good size and a wheelchair user would have had no trouble with this facility that is apart from the cold. With no heating at all any disabled person with limited movement or trouble controlling there body heat could be in trouble with in minutes of taking their clothes off.

Dogs are welcome on site but there is no dog walking area and no foot path out side the entrance just the fast A39

I think the English tourism stars and AA flags were given in the summer.

On a good note the Bullers Arms Hotel at Marhamchurch Served great food. Bude and the surrounding area has some great walks and out standing views. Dogs are welcome on the beach in the winter and parking was 50pence for two hours at Widemouth Bay

And the carol singing on Christmas eve (we didn't get an invitation for). Three late nights Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day. Live music and they didn't sound like they were singing the words to Christmas songs!

Visited this site mid September when for a change the weather was very good. Lovely site. Facilities first class. Although the washrooms are old, they are kept spotless. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Because of the rain previously the site was rather waterlogged in places, but the owners supply duck boards if it gets too bad. We had a hard standing so no problem.
We were there in low season, so all facilities were closed, but the pool looked a good size and they had a shop stocking most things and also a bar open before mid September.
Widemouth Bay only 1 mile away, so easy to walk to it. Bude about 3 miles away. Will definitely visit again next year.
