Very friendly & well kept site, toilets in the field we were in could benefit from an update but they were clean. The takeaway was good value and good food. The swimming pool was great. On arrival we were shown to our pitch and as it was a little tight to get the van on they helped us manoeuvre on. The children's play areas were great my 2 year old Grandson screamed everytime we tried to leave!
Only downside, the roads around the site had some very tight corners to negotiate when you've got your van on the back.

Budemeadows is a relatively good site, if the weather is good. The best part about the site being the outdoor pools, which the children loved in all weathers, and the play area (weather permitting). The staff are helfull, and we were taken to our pitch on arrival. The pitches are not over big, and the whole site feels a little disorganised.
The facilities were very clean although a little dated, and I would wonder if there were sufficient if the site were full. Unfortunately, it rained persitantly during our weeks holiday, and the condition of the pitches were poor. We were completely surrounded by mud, although boards were supplied by the staff so we could reach our caravan. I understand that the weather is not something you can control, but drainage of the pitches is, and apparantly last August was no different, hopefully some changes will be made. The site was pretty empty considering the time of year, no doubt due to the weather and condition of the pitches.

A lovely site with a very friendly feel.
Very tight pitches but enough room and the site was very clean.
The playpark was great and kept my children occupied ages 8-15 it closed around 8.30 so the site was quiet after dark.
The games room was a real bonus and my older 2 children loved it.
The outdoor table tennis, bowls etc were quite old but brilliant and well used.
The pool was warm, clean and open again until 8.30 which meant after a day out the kids could have a swim.
The showers were quite old but clean and the site did have a bath which was lovely.
We didn't have to queue but could have just been lucky.
Shops were very near by as was Widemouth beach with its great surf nicer, than Bude itself we felt.
Our pitch did flood twice but it was very wet that week would book a hardstanding next time.
A great family friendly site

On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our pitch. Pitch sizes are OK if not massive and our Montana 12 +car + trailer fitted on. The roads around the site are narrow though so turning cars around you have to use your pitch. The small bar, shop and reception are open most of the time and supply most requirements. The toilet/shower faclitities are dated but kept spotlessly clean. Shower water pressure is not the best but was always warm. Sink and washing up water was very hot.
Swimming pool was clean and warm and sunloungers and chairs supplied around it. There was a new zip-slide for the kids, but due to the weather was out of action.
It is a pity that we chose a very, very wet 2 weeks to camp here and the whole site became very boggy which is a shame as it spoilt what I would consider to be a very child friendly fun site.
This site is slightly isolated from most major attractions which is not normally a problem in a sunny summer as the nearby beaches are good.
Overall recommended

Just finished a week on this site
1st the good points
• Nice friendly site
• Overall kept clean and tidy
• Heated Pool was very good kids loved it
• Considering the site was full – it was quite at night , Did not hear a lot until at least 8 to 8.30 in the mornings
• Bar was okay
• Out door chess / Table Tennis / playground with new zip line kept kids amused
Now the bad points
• Very little space between pitches, this was the most cramp site we had ever been on
• Toilets / Showers very dated, and not enough to supply demand when site is full, had to wait too many times. Toilets always running out of soap, in the end took my own.

This campsite was the first stop on a weeks adventure, walking the Coast Path. The directions sent with the booking confirmation were very accurate and helpful, the journey was not stressfull at all.
The site was kept spotlessly clean and staff were helpful.
The facillities were excellent , with everything you could need there. The takeaway was particularily good, with home cooked, well priced meals.
The setting was convienient next to the A39, and even though our pitch was next to the road, the road noise was not a problem. The location was a good walk from Widemouth Bay, but there is little there, so it was a good job the campsite had such good facilities. We found a good pub in Marhamchurch on the way back from Bude, which is worth visiting.
There was an excellent array of info and leaflets which were accessible 24hrs. Grumpy Petes bar served delicious cappucinnos and real Ale in bottles.
Overall, would reccommend this site to anybody.

The directions to this site which were sent with the booking confirmation were great. On arrival at this site we was shown to our pitch by a member of staff, the pitch was spacious and in great condition considering the dire weather we had had in the week leading up to our visit. The site was clean and tidy and obviously well cared for, the toilet blocks/showers although a little dated were obviously cleaned throughout the day because they were spotless.
Grumpy Pete's bar was very handy for the odd drink or two when required.
The only down side that I found on this site was that there was no designated dog walk area, so if you are a dog owner who likes to take your pooch with you be prepared to find somewhere else to exercise them.
We will definitely be returning to this site but perhaps minus the dog.

We have been to this site 5 times and are returning in 2008. The area is fantastic and the site itself is extremely well maintained. The games room, giant chess, petanque and park area are great for the kids. Grumpy Pete's bar is cute and interesting, the shop has everything you could need and Bude itself is lovely.
Widemouth bay is a huge clean beach and is well supervised. If you're in this area Clovelly is a must. If you are unfit get the landrover in and out as its the steepest walk I've ever done, well worth it though.
The pitches on this site are huge and very private. A really cool base to explore the area. Try the Big Sheep adventure park and a run to Lands End. Georges Grill is excellent for food and the Atlantic Diner does great baked cheesecake. The Jersey Cow has lovely Scones with clotted cream and will post some to your relatives at home should you wish. Love this place as it has everything we as a relatively peace loving and chilled out family could want.

Was very easy to find just off a lay-by on the A39 (Atlantic highway) Instructions on how to get there were most helpful.
We were personally shown to our pitch, and a member of staff helped to park our caravan as it was a little too tight to manoeuvre by car.
The site was wonderfully landscaped with hedges and trees to give a sense of privacy. Even though the park was situated by the A39, we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was on site.
The staff were always found to be helpful, indeed, when we had a few problems getting running water in our caravan on setting up, a member of staff gave us some fuses thinking that it was a fuse that needed replacing, and then we were advised of a local caravan dealer, (5 miles away)where we discovered it was a new pump we needed.
At reception there was a tourist information porch set out with lots of info and the customary leaflets.
Although the site wasn’t busy, I should imagine, that even in the height of the season, noise is kept well under control.
The toilets and showers were kept spotless, and there is a bathroom for those who opt for a bath. (Free water!)
The site also has an excellent indoor games room with the likes of pool, a few arcade games, and a tv. The outdoor play area offered ping pong, giant chess game, and skittles. There was also a small field to kick a football including 2 goal posts. In high season, there is an outdoor swimming pool.
The only negative point we found was that Grumpy Petes bar was only open on Friday/Saturday evening, subject to demand. But obviously demand didnt require it to open whilst we were there, which was a pity.
The shop was unmanned, whilst we were here and you had to go to reception to ask someone to open the shop, which was a bit of an inconvenience. Especially if they were busy on the phone taking bookings etc.
Having said that, We thoroughly had a relaxing week here, and would come back again.
If you choose to explore, Several places are nearby. Bude, Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac, even Clovelly (North Devon) is only 40 mins away. Launceston is only 30 mins away.

As said in other reviews, everything fantastic with a nice personal touch! Just to say that the site is perfect for touring north cornwall, Boscastle, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Padstow and of course Bude all within easy reach and well worth the visit and the site is on a good bus route to most places. Lovely stay we will be returning soon I hope.
