We have visited this site every May Day bank holiday for the last few years, and are happy to keep returning.

On the plus side:

Excellent showers (hot, powerful and very clean)

Helpful, friendly staff

Although the children's play area is quite small (our three aged 11,10 and 6 have almost outgrown it) there is a huge field right next to the site - loads of space for ball games, kite-flying etc.

Spacious games room with darts, table tennis and pool

Easy walk to nearby canal, the children love watching boats go through the lock, and playing with our remote control hovercraft on the water

On the minus side, nothing majorly important, although:

The site is on quite a slope, there are few completely flat pitches

If you are pitched near the road the noise is quite significant (although these are the largest pitches!)

This was our first ever camping trip and we chose Wolverley after reading the pages in the Caravan and Camping Club big book and we where not disappointed. The reception from the wardens was fantastic, with information about the surrounding area and attractions very helpful in planning for the 4 year old with us. The campsite has a small play area for children, but we only used it once as we were out of the site during the day.

We have a 6 metre by 7 metre tent and we also have a much larger tent, but they said they can't accommodate for anything larger than the 6 x 7 we had with us, so if your camping, I'd check first.

The site is about two miles from Kidderminster and has excellent routes to the Midlands.

As for the toilet block and facilities. I'd say they where great. Clean loo's, showers and washing and washing up facilities with a stocked shop of ice cream milk and other things. I wanted to take a dvd player with me and had I been able to, DVD's were available from the shop.
The local pub is five minutes from the site and has great food and is next to a canal which has a lovely walk. Al in all an excellent site. We will definitely be back!

Our first trip out in our Mazda Bongo and we weren't disappointed.

Reliant on site facilities we found these to be excellent. Loads of hot water for showers and washing up, all kept spotlessly clean.

The whole site was clean and tidy, plenty of bins, fresh water, CDP and waste water disposal points. Most pitches had electricity within easy reach.

There is a community room with darts and table tennis with a local information corner.

Pubs within a short walking distance, putting green, village, canal side walks.

We will be back!

Just got back from our first camping trip with the two little ones. Couldn't praise the camp or the area enough. The facilities are excellent and always immaculate. The two local pubs are lovely, found The Queens Head in the village to be the better one -Food is excellent. Also the Tea Rooms are lovely, very good value for money.

There was a little noise from the road but didn't notice this too much the kids managed to sleep ok anyway so cant have been that bad. The only actual problem was that about 2 inches under the soil is a load of rocks and bricks, can cause a bit of a problem with grumpy husbands and putting pegs in! Will be visiting again next year.

Just stayed one night on the spur of the moment. Well what a pleasant surprise.

Apart from the site being the usual high standard you expect from the c&c club just out of the gate at the bottom of the site, there is a short walk which leads you to the pub (the Lock Inn) which is on the canal.

The village was celebrating the 1940's and the whole village had come alive, the whole place had a great atmosphere. We had a walk up to the church and saw Mama Mia (the Abba tribute band) in the field, the party went on till 1am!

Great little place and site, we shall return.

Really enjoyed our stay on this site - the wardens were really friendy and went out of their way to accommodate our group together.

The facilities are spacious and always seemed to be open! They were never too crowded despite it being a busy weekend. Lovely hot free power showers with no push buttons!

There are lovely walks round the disused airfield and Wyre Forest, with a huge flat field for ball games etc. Right next to the site. There is a childrens play area and best of all somewhere for those teens to gather; a games room with table tennis, pool and darts.

Through the gate at the bottom of the site next to the canal and towpath is the Lock pub, which sells food, although we didn't sample it. Dogs are welcome in the bar.

The only downside was the traffic noise which was worse on the far side of the site where we were. It didn't keep me awake but I was aware of it and it could get quite intrusive during the day.

I would definitely return - it seems to be one of the more relaxed camping and caravan club sites which makes all the difference to a stay.

Camped here since 1995 and must say it's one of my favourite club sites. This site is ideal for walking along the canal into kidderminster and across the road theres the lock pub. In the village theres a cafe and post office and the queens pub were you'l often find robert plant of pink floyd fame.
The site used to be an american army camp during the second world war but now houses reception and the amenities of wich they are immaculate.
The new wardens are realy friendly unlike the previous ones who personaly I found totaly unaproachable.
Bewdley bridgnorth and stourport are all within easy distance of this pleasant village site

 Visited: several weekends during 2007

Secluded location but road noise can become an irritation. Even at night. You can hear motorbikes speeding along the local road & country lane.

10 minute drive to Kidderminster town centre.

This is a medium sized site, ideal for people within the West Midlands area who want to get away for the weekend.

The site also offers a secure storage facility, which we booked for 2007.

The site wardens (2 couples) always seem rather distant and unapproachable! Sometimes they are friendly other times not so! This is our personal opinion and no doubt other people may find them ok?

The pitches can feel very claustrophobic, as the male wardens have a tendency to site everyone in a 'line' which seemed very regimented! When we 'escape' for the weekend, the last thing we want to look at is a caravan from every window! We have also had two occasions where people invade the required minimum space between units.

The canal is a few minutes walk from the site, which offers a nice walk along the towpath. Bodemum Arboretum & Visitor centre is a 10 minute drive away.

The children's play park is basic but the site is located right next to a playing field, so there is plenty of room for ball games, kite flying or dog walking! The site also has a games room with a TV, table tennis table & dart board.

Television reception is very poor. We recommend the use of a satellite dish if you have one available.

The site is reasonably looked after and we would recommend this site as a weekend retreat.

Toilets & showers are in a fair condition.

Like most have said an excellent site, only spent a weekend with wife, 2 kids 14 and two dogs, but we had a great time, cant fault staff or site but then we did not have a pitch by the road.
Width of approach and those killer humps our only gripe. Would definitely go again. I love Bank's Beer and the Lock (local pub) must serve the best pulled pint I've tasted in years.

Very pleasant site which was extremely well drained and dry considering the wet weather we have had.
Good Motor home Service Point and plenty of space between pitches.
Local dog friendly pub just 5minutes walk away and nice walks along the tow path.
Wolverley Village is a short walk away with further pubs to choose from.
Well worth spending a few days on this site as there are plenty of walks from the site.
Showers and toilets spotlessly clean.
Just one minor criticism,on arrival we felt liked we were being rushed as we were filling up with water at the service point and we could not make the tank fill any quicker! The warden seemed to want to get us to our pitch in a hurry but apart from that it is a great site.
