This is an excellent site, I was extremely impressed with the hard working and friendly staff, they answered all our queries perfectly. The facilities are top class, I used the laundry - ideal. And the toilets and showers are really good - better showers than we have at home! I personally didnt find the road noise too intrusive, we were in the middle of the site in a motorhome, so the noise was really a distant drone - I can imagine it being an issue if you were in a tent though. We cycled along the towpath to the Eagle and Spur pub - you can get a voucher from reception to get a free starter or dessert. Although the pub looks nothing special the food was really surprisingly good. We also cycled to Sainsbury's, 20 minutes along the towpath on the outskirts of Kidderminster. We found it by accident, maybe a little bit more information on where local shops are could be useful? I am nitpicking a bit really to find anything critical to say, as I would go back to this site anytime - it does get booked up at popular times, so bear that in mind. Also, to get to the canal towpath you do have to walk along a very short length of narrow pavement right next to the busy road, so dogs must be on a short lead for safety. Overall I loved this site, my husband sat by the canal and fished and the dogs loved going for walks along by the canal.

This was our second visit to this site, and it was even better the second time around! This is a lovely site, quite large (200 pitches), arranged loosely across the site. The facilities are excellent, with the shower block, laundry and washing up facilities kept 100% up to scratch, as you would expect from a Camping and Caravanning Club site. Things to do in the vicinity: We visited the Falconry Centre at West Hagley, which is an excellent afternoon out (flying demonstrations usually at 3.0 p.m. Daily), the National Motorcycle Museum (about 45 mins away), Bridgenorth, Bewdley, the Severn Valley Railway - and many more. Just around the corner are two pubs - ignore The Lock - you have to wait ages for food, and we were told (hearsay only!) that the landlord puts a couple of pence per drink on the price if he knows you come from the club site. We used The Queen's Head, in Wolverley Village itself. Robert Plant drinks there, and the usually have bands every weekend during the summer. The landlord is very friendly, they do good, basic food, and also a very good pint. To find this pub you go out the back gate of the site, down the lane to the main road, turn right and then take the next right into the village. The pub is straight in front of you when you get to the village. This is a really lovely village pub. I would heartily recommend both Wolverley campsite and the village as a great place to stay.

Usual club site facilities, very clean and well kept. We arrived to find 5 caravans in entrance before us which took a while to clear and pitch, but the staff did their best considering there were only the two of them, one siting vans, and the lady in the office taking details. Site is sloping in parts but most vans and other tent were on level areas. One word of warning, the ground is VERY hard ! The pub is very close by , handy for a warm April afternoon ! Meals in pub appear a little pricey and the pub itself needs a little TLC inside. However, ideal for watching the world go by on canal boats if thats your thing. Decent cycling in the area along side of canal either way, and Stourport on Severn has plenty of kids amusements etc alongside river, not a long drive away. Overall I would recommend this site to anyone visiting or passing through this area, close to M5, junction 3 or 4 ( about 20 mins ).

Expected from this well run and popular C&CC site the facilities are very good – and the showers in particular are impressive. Locked cubicles with curtains and loads of hot water. There is also a mop & bucket so that you can clean them for the next person. The pitches are flat or slightly sloping and the top soil is fairly light and sandy which should be good for drainage, however as there wasn’t any rain I am unable to confirm this theory. The site was once a military hospital which is rumoured to have had only 6 mortalities although a few campers will have come close to joining them whilst trying to hammer pegs into the remaining foundations which, in places, lie only a couple of inches below the surface. There is a small play area for children near the utility block – mostly swings and it would appear that families with small children are placed nearby.
There isn’t much I can add that hasn’t been said about the surrounding area although I will confirm that Sunday roast at the Lock pub is a must.
There is no site lighting. I’m not complaining, just make sure you take torches and plenty of batteries if you want to get up in the night.
So is this the perfect site? Unfortunately not. The sting in the tail is the adjacent road. Another reviewer has described it as camping on the centre reservation of the M6. I can’t think of a better description. The noise from the traffic is relentless – day or night, so I am a little annoyed that it isn’t mentioned in the Club brochure as, to varying degrees, it must affect about a third of the site. The worst spot is the top corner. Unless you are as deaf as a post, I suggest you take some earplugs – and use them! The access road is long and narrow and is peppered with potholes – great fun if you meet a Freelander with caravan coming in the opposite direction. A couple of evil speed humps will test even the most robust vehicle suspension and on a busy day it only takes a couple of arrivals to form a queue that blocks access to the site completely. Would I return? Probably not. I certainly wouldn’t consider it until someone builds a Wolverley bypass.

Nice site, friendly staff, well run, good facilities, nice pub by the canal one minute walk away. There is a busy road one one side - so if you are in a tent you might want a pitch away from the road. I stayed the week after Easter but is was fully booked for the weekend - you should book ahead.

We really enjoyed our stay at this site. The staff were friendly, the site clean and not too noisy, even though it was full. Unfortunately we had to pitch in the middle of a field, as we were last in, but apart from that it was fine. The noise from the road wasn't a problem (even though we were pitched next to the road), however the rooks in the rookery woke us up at 5.00 am every morning! We would be happy to return to this site anytime.

Spent 2 nights here in May for a short walking break. Chose it mainly as it is only 1hour 40 mins travelling time therefore suitable for a quick Friday evening getaway. It is a nice site, well laid out with grassy pitches broken up by trees/hedges. We had requested a level pitch which we had but most pitches were level/slightly sloping at the most.
We found the staff friendly and helpful especially when asked to recommend local pubs/eating places. There is a information room with leaflets etc, tv, pool table. They even had a book sale only 50p each so got a few bargains. Good washing/shower block, laundry and pot washing in same block. Good kids play area. Excellent MH service station for topping up/disposing of waste water/toilet etc.
Pedestrian access from the rear of the site onto the lane takes you to the Lock pub directly across the road next to the canal. The B road that runs down one side of the site is busy so would request to be pitched on other side of site if road noise bothers you. We walked into the next village, Crookley one evening, 20 mins but it is a dark lane so go armed with a torch (2 pubs, Tesco, cashpoint, butchers and post office).
We intend to go back to this site for another walking break as it is only 2 miles from Kidderminster.

May 2005 Have just returned from the bank holiday there, lovely site, plenty to do in the area, cycled into kiddermimster along the canal path, also walked it, very pleasent. Also cycled the other way to crookly village, just past the lock pub there is a putting green, where we had a lovely time, lock pub gets very busy,
Site usual ccc high standards, pity about the wardens, could be more friendly and not hitler like, they seem to be missing the point of it being a club, not a business. Still we enjoyed ourselves, weather was good, okay for a weekend

September 2004 If your idea of a great campsite is one that greets you with the sign 'No Ball Games. No Frisbee. No Kites' then this is the site for you.
You must also be happy to pitch your tent next to busy main road with continual traffic noise day & night.
No shop
Great showers though.
I will not return

July 2004 Usual CCC standard clean and friendly staff. One word of warning DON'T PITCH NEAR THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!! I did and it was like pitching in the central reservation of the M6 Motorway, spoilt the stay somewhat.
