Stayed here for a couple of nights on the 'Folly' pitch.

Really helpful wardens; cannot comment on facilities as we did not use them. Quite a busy site but it was summer. Well maintained pitches although not vast amounts of space.

Location was extremely convenient for us at the time. Located close to Kidderminster (a bit tired) but also some lovely countryside within a very short drive.

We will return because it is convenient for us.

Our first visit to this site.

Pros: Easy access

Well situated for visiting the many attractions in the area

Excellent facilities - shower/toilets, washing up, laundry, information room

Small shop on site

Well placed easy access servicing point for motor homes

Central points for water and waste water disposal, chemical waste point is at the motor home point

The Lock Inn only short walk from site

Huge field adjacent to the site for walking dogs

New play park for children

Plenty of EHU

Cons: We felt hemmed in on our pitch, others around us felt the same

To get to our pitch we had to drive between and close to other units

Due to the pitching everyone had to walk close to units to get to the facilities

Pitches in the middle section didn't appear to have 6mtres between them

The photos on C&CC website appear to be a little outdated, there are now more hard standings off the central circular road. We were on a pitch in the middle row behind a unit less than 6metres in front, there was more space between us and the units behind us.

Pitches on the outside seemed more spacious than those on the inner two lines.

With the increasing size of units and vehicles (and there were some long outfits there including a 36ft RV), it may be time that the C&CC revisited their pitch planning.

We did not have children with us so cannot mark the child friendliness score

The overall all rating reflects the pitch

This was our second visit to Wolverley having spent sometime looking for a local site to minimise travel time for 1 night get aways. Both stays have been great. This is a C&C site so the standard of facilities are excellent. On arrival you are shown to your pitch (pitches are quite close together!). The loos and showers are fantastic and whilst we don't have children this is evidently a very family and dog friendly site with a children's playground on site. From the rear gates you can access the Lock Inn pub within just a two minute walk! Good food and drink at reasonable prices situated right next to the canal. This is a very popular site so there is always a good atmosphere on site. Pitches near the rear gates do encounter noise from the main road but it doesn't ruin the relaxation element of your stay! Great site.

To Find Site:- From the south exit at junction 4 of the M5 onto the A491. At T junction turn left onto A456 towards Kidderminster. (Coming from the north on the M5 exit at junction 3 and take A456 towards Kidderminster) Just before Kidderminster turn right onto A449 signed for Wolverhampton. At traffic lights turn left onto B4189 signed to Wolverley. On entering the 40mph speed limit keep an eye out for sign for site and turn right onto minor road and immediately left into site entrance road and follow road round to reception. Whilst this road is single carriageway there is room to pull over on the verge if you meet another vehicle.

The Wolverley C&CC Campsite is on part of the land which was once occupied by a war time US Military Hospital and is situated a couple of miles north of Kidderminster. It has quite a slope down from the reception area although the 105 pitches are all reasonably level. There is a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches. The site is open from around mid-March to early November and accepts non-members. Electric points are generally handy to most pitches but we had to use an additional cable to reach the bollard near our pitch. They are rated at 16amps and use CEE17 blue connectors. The site has poor terrestrial TV reception but there is no signal booster facilities on site. If you intend to use a satellite dish you may need to select your pitch carefully to avoid some of the mature trees on site. The toilet block is situated in one of the building that originated when it was a wartime hospital but don’t be put off by this as the inside of the building has been nicely done with good facilities including a covered dishwash area. The laundry is at the back of reception. Water and waste water points are dotted around the site. The motorhome service point does not have a wide open grill, there is a small drain point to aim for, fortunately it can be approached from both directions to suit but probably a short length of hose would be useful. The only chemical toilet disposal point is next to the motorhome service point. The site does have a WiFi systems but it comes with warnings it might not be site wide. I thought we were pitched fairly centrally but I found the signal pretty poor with numerous disconnections and slow! For children there is an adventure style playground, although older ones might prefer the games room which is on the end of the Reception building, which also contains an information room and some interesting old photographs of its wartime use. Reception sells a few essentials and gas.

Via a gate at the bottom of the site the Lock Inn is only yards away and the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal can be accessed from the bridge. It’s a very popular spot as you can have a drink and watch the narrow boats go through Wolverley Lock. From here you can walk, or cycle, into Kidderminster along the canal towpath, it’s about two and a half miles. For shopping there is a Sainsbury accessed directly from the canal towpath with handy bike park adjacent to the store. In the town there is also a large Tesco. For those without their own transport there is an hourly bus service into Kidderminster about a 10/15 minute walk from the site, alternatively the local taxis are reasonably priced. Once in town there are onward bus services to Stourport and the Severn Valley Railway also starts in Kidderminster if you fancy a trip to Bridgenorth.

Me and my family came to this site for our very first time touring and found it very clean and tidy. The staff was always mowing the grass and cleaning the toilet block, which is between 11-1 so inconvenient if desperate for the toilet as quite strict that your not to use them. The male staff is quite impatient to be honest and needs to remember children can not hold themselves so therefore allow for this. The pitch was very spacious and located next to the park so very good for the kids. Campsite is very ideally located as a few nice pubs a short walk away. We would definitely return to this park

Friendly welcome. Shown to a pitch close to the kids play area which was ideal for our 9 and 6 year olds. Also access to nearby sports fields which are great for ball games. Very well maintained facilities and site. Great shower blocks with family rooms also. Very family friendly. We used the site as a base to visit the Wyre Forest and Kinver Edge.

The site itself is very much a c+c. C. Type layout with a mix of hard standing and grass pitches, with what looks like a recently refurbished facilities block.

In the immediate area there is a pub by the site on the canal. A 5 minute walk there is another pub next to a tea room/shop, and some woodlands to wander around.

You can walk into Kidderminster along the canal (about 2 miles), where you come to initially a large Sainsbury's on a retail park, walk an extra couple of minutes and your in the town itself.

A very well run friendly site, been there a couple of times, would definitely return.

Thanks to the cheerful staff on this site who squeezed me and my little tent in on a busy Bank Holiday weekend! It's a pleasant site up to the Camping and Caravan Club's usual standards. Nice facilities, very clean, popular kid's play area, everything as expected, everything worked.

Just down the road you can get onto the canal and cycle into Kidderminster, there's a Sainsbury's right next to the canal. You could then carry on right into Stourport, it's a lovely ride and there's a nice canalside cafe at the end!

Our third visit to this well laid out site and first since the amenity block refurbishment. Excellent showers, privacy cubicles and always appeared to be clean. The wardens are extremely helpful with a friendly manner and sense of humour. The Lock 2 minutes walk away serves food, not as good as I previously remembered, as does the other pub in Wolverley village which is very pretty and only a short walk away. Attached is Wolverley tea rooms with a small village shop inside and very helpful staff. The canal takes you to Kidderminster in one direction and Cookley in the other. Some pitches suffer from road noise. Sadly the newly created pitch and putt was badly flooded along with parts of the village the day after we arrived. The weather was atrocious but the campsite didn't suffer any problems. The children's playground also appeared to be fairly new and is positioned behind the games/TV room. The wardens stock basic provisions, sweets and chocolates with publicised opening hours.

Stayed here for 4 nights recently. Lovely campsite, friendly and helpful wardens. The shower block is excellent and spotlessly clean with plenty of room. Just a stone's throw from the pub (The Lock) which does nice food. There is also another pub (Queens Head) just 5 mins walk away which has entertainment on some nights and also does nice food. Local to Kidderminster for your shopping needs and there is also plenty to do and see in the area. Liked it so much we are going back again in August !
