This site is on an old military base and the existing shower/toilet block is based in an old military barrack type building. Inside the facilities are very well maintained with hot showers.

We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the village (map purchased from reception)where there is a lovely old-style village shop selling newspapers, cakes, teas and coffees, soup, bread etc.

Next door is a pub that serves a choice of dishes for lunch at a total cost of £6. 95 for two. Very good value. Just a short walk from the site is The Lock - a busy pub that serves food.

There is a slight slope on the field so choose where to pitch with this in mind. However, we will return to Wolverley CC&C again.

Our first Camping and Caravan Club Site, very different from the Caravan Club sites we have visited, appearing to be quite relaxed. On arrival we where greeted by friendly wardens, who were also quite helpful regarding local attractions advice.

Facilities although dated were very clean and in good order. The majority of the site is uneven and our pitch had patches of old concrete bits in places, which was a bit odd the remainder of the pitch was grass and had lots of bald areas and sand between grass. The site although grass mowed quite short all appeared to be quite dead across the entire site with lots of loose grass cuttings lying on the pitch which trailed into our caravan a minor irritation I guess.

Traffic noise could be a real problem if your planning on using this site for a relaxing break, although the traffic did not appear to be heavy when we drove on the adjacent road the noise is very noticeable we had been aware of this before we booked so requested a pitch away from the adjacent road. We did see quite a few people arrive pitch to adjacent road then move the next day. Although not adjacent to the road we certainly were aware of the traffic noise day and night with motorbikes and cars speeding by.

Our little girl enjoyed the large play area which was very clean and well maintained.

Security appeared to be good with the main gate closed after every car entry and locked after 11:00pm

Despite the traffic noise and dead grass pitch this was still a good choice for us as the location is excellent for visiting local attractions and would probably use again.

First time visit to this site.Site very busy due to end of half term but despite this did not have to queue for facilities. Were found a reasonably flat pitch. Excellent hot showers, washing facilities. Helpful staff who kept the site spotless.

Walked both ways by canal. 45 mins into Kidderminster. Tesco Express at Cookley - 30 min walk. Enjoyed excellent Sunday eve Roast dinner at Lock Inn.

Severn Valley Railway mins by car.A great trip if you just want to sit back and take in the scenery. Can recommend Arley Arboretum If you want a quiet afternoon even in the rain!

Entrance and driveway to site now tarmaced. Excellent. A great weekend.

This was our second visit to this site, we stayed for a couple of nights as we were just passing through but would happily stay longer if we were going to explore the area.

I've read some comments regarding the approach road, this is smooth and newly surfaced so that problem has been fixed. The staff are friendly, our pitch was quite a way from the electric hook up so they lent us an extra cable. Our pitch was level and towards the top of the site, so the slight background traffic noise didn't disturb us. When the site is busy the pitches are quite close together compared to some other sites, but the place is still lovely and quiet after 11 pm at night, there was not a noise to be heard from any of the other units. The shower block was perfectly clean, and the showers are excellent, good water pressure, adjustable temperature and no push buttons.

For dog owners like us this site is perfect, you can either walk a couple of minutes down the road to the canal towpath, or right next to the site is a massive playing field where the dogs have loads of space to run. And there is a dog waste bin right by the entrance to the field, which is ideal.

The location of this site is ideal for doing lots of different things, whether cycling along the towpath or visiting local attractions. If we are passing through the midlands this site is top of our list to stay at, we love it.

We have visited this site before in a tent but this was our first in our folding camper.

The site is 30 mins from our home so great for a weekend after finishing work on Friday.

We saw the reception warden first who spoke to a warden in the site who met us at the gate. We were asked where we wanted to pitch and chose a spot opposite the park.

We did not realise how uneven the ground was at first and we felt quite cramped. We have visited sites with much bigger pitches but there was a large tent next to us.

The toilet block was always clean and never had to queue for a shower. There was a small park but only had swings and a slide so our kids got board easily. There is a games room which we did not use.

There is a pub within a minutes walk called the lock that serves food at reasonable prices. You can sit and watch the barges whilst having a drink.

We walked to Cookley along the canal and there is a great park next to the cricket ground. Cookley has a couple of pubs and a few shops.

Kidderminster is a short drive away but you can walk it along the canal.

Wolverley village also has a pub and is a short walk.

We chose this site due to its locality and having a pub. The site is OK but I have been to better sites which are flatter and with more space. Will visit again due to being near to home.

We stayed at this site for two nights. The site was very clean and staff very friendly. First time camping there and we will be using the site a lot more its the best site we have stayed at before. We have a dog and the dog walking field was just the job. The games room was well equipped for our five year old with lots of toys and games, and information in there was good for us to use. Good washing up room and laundry room and was very clean. The ground for the tent was very good and did not get muddy in the rain that we had.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend so as expected it was busy, most units turned up at 12 so we had a 45 min wait to check in. Access road has now been tarmacked. Nice little site, lots of slopping pitches, but we managed to find a flattish one near the park (which was fine as we had children.) Pitches at the top also got late afternoon sun. Ground coped well with the thunderstorm that occurred whilst we were there Shower block very clean as you would expect on a C&CC site. Site quiet at night everybody seemed to be in bed by 10, and road noise was not very loud more of a constant gentle hum so you soon forgot about it. Site has a small shop and a games room.

Easy access to West Midlands Safari park - 10 mins away. Nice walk around kingsford country park- 10 mins away. We tried the little tea shop on the canal nice cream tea, nice walks along the canal.

Just stayed here for 1 night. Helpful warden refunded second night as I wasn't well and wanted to go home.

Its time the club spent some money on the approach road, terrible potholes, really shake you up.

Toilet block is dated and chilly.Site needs more lights, waste bins and footpaths.

TV reception poor, Info room shut but some info in laundry room.

OK for short visit. Nice walk by canal but everywhere you are you can hear the traffic.

Good little shop in the village, Nice bread and do teas etc, (not used but looked good).

Stayed here for the last 4 nights of a 12 day motorcycle tour.

First impressions were a bit disappointing. After Hereford and Oswestry, this site was far more suburban. The long entrance drive was pot holed and in need of resurfacing and 90% of the site was on a slope. The density of the units was far higher than on the previous 2 sites with no hard standings that I saw for caravans etc.

Still we pitched up on a standard pitch at the bottom of the site backing onto a quiet country lane - not so much flat as where the slope leveled off a bit. A walk around the site we found the toilets/showers, laundry room (1 antiquated washer/dryer),and washing up room in one block in the condition you would expect of a C&CC site. The other block had a small reception/shop and a large games room. There is also a outdoor kids play area.

Wolverly we discovered doesn't have a local shop, so having got directions from the reception and we walked along the adjacent canal to Cookley, about 30 mins away, which has Tesco express and two pubs. Recommended.

Wolverley has two pubs in easy walking distance with the Lock being a 2 minute walk. Thatchers frozen cider highly recommended on a hot day.

Recommended places to visit - Severn Valley Railway (they had a 1940's weekend when we were there), Black country museum in Dudley and a circular ride taking in Bewdley,Clee hill and Bridgnorth.

In the end, this became our favourite site of the three, not because of the site itself but for what was in easy walking distance. We grew to love the site by the end but was just glad we were not pitched by the main road which was busy at all times. In all recommended.

The site is in a lovely position - handy for pubs, canal, rivers and the Steam Railway. We were very disappointed however, with the general state of the grass and the state of the approach road and the roads within the site- they could do with an overhaul and a few tons of tarmac. Especially bearing in mind it is run by the Camping and Caravan Club.

The facilities at first seemed dated, but then when you read that the amenity blocks were used as a hospital in World War Two it becomes steeped in history and a lot more interesting than it first seemed. I do think however that 4 showers on a large site just isn't enough - ok we visited bank hol but on the Tuesday, a lot of the pitches had been vacated and I still had to wait for a shower.

Not the best club site I've ever visited.
