My wife and I have just returned from this site and we agree with the other comments, there are not enough washing and toilet facilities for the amount of pitches, the showers were always full what ever time we tried to use them. The pitches were cramped and we found we had a water point behind our pitch with users having to pass within feet of our van and walking around us sitting outside. The club had lovely staff the food was well priced and enjoyable, but as the site is quite a way outside Rodney Stoke it is not possible to walk there, so you are effectively trapped on site.

Just got back from short bank holiday stay
Lovely site, really friendly staff. Everything clean and looked after.
They had a carvery lunch on the Sunday, well worth the money & saves having to look around for one.
Good fun in the club house and not over the top.
Overall very good, even the sun came out on the last day!

Went to Bucklegrove on the information supplied by their web site. I have to concur with other reviewers that the pitches are rather small and too close together, which is a pity as this site has wonderful views over the surrounding landscape and is very close to Wookey Hole.
We went from the 25th March to the 2nd of April and the downside we felt was that the Bar and restaurant was only open at the weekend and as we where charged mid season rates you would have expected them to be open weekdays as well, the nearest pub is a good walk into the village of Rodney Stoke and at night this is very dangerous road as there are no footpaths or street lighting so be aware.
The toilet and shower blocks where OK but I would have liked soap dishes in the showers and I would imagine that they would be very crowded in high season
It’s a pity they seem to be catering more for Static’s and are building two chalets at the top of the site where as another amenity block would have been more useful.
Take plenty of twenty pence pieces as all the machines on site hair drier, washing machine, clothes drier, etc swallow them at an alarming rate.
The children’s play ground is very good, the children’s pool is excellent but the main pool for swimmers is on the small side. I think the chemical toilets could be updated two bogs in the ground with wooden covers is not ideal.

This was my boyfriend and my first camping trip together to break in our new equipment, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable one. The site was beautifully maintained and the toilet and shower facilities were top notch. The site is surrounded by the gorgeous somerset countryside so we got some stunning views. The site is within driving distance of Cheddar, where we spent some evenings at the local cinema, and is in walking distance to a lovely pub. The on site bar/restaurant was also very nice, although was not open for most of the week, but understandably as we did visit in September! The onsite pool was also very well kept, although did get a little crowded at times.
I would give this site 4/5.

We loved this campsite and will definitely be going back. We had a short mid-week stay, and while the main campsite was quite full, the overflow field had tons of space. We thought the overflow field was the best place to be on the campsite: fantastic views to the south and west over the Somerset levels with Glastonbury Tor in the distance. More space than on the main campsite and further from any music from the evening entertainment.
The other big plus for us was the swimming pool - small but great for our 3 children, including the separate little baby pool. The front of the pool building is a bar/restaurant facing on to playground, so we could have a drink and keep an eye on the children. They also had evening pony rides.
Toilets and showers were spacious and clean - only the pool showers weren't working properly.
Lots to do and see within a few miles eg Wookey Hole, and not far to the beach either.

Just returned from a week at 'Bucklegrove' and felt compelled to reiterate other people's comments about the cramped size of the pitches. We had read other reviews and as a result telephoned the site with our concerns about pitch size. We were assured that we would be on a larger pitch. We have a folding camper, an awning and an additional bedroom - the latter which we had no room to erect. Our car had to be parked outside our camper, blocking our view and there was a tiny strip of grass alongside the hedged boundary which left no room to 'sit out'! We could hear everything from our neighbours caravans and tents and reading my holiday book was virtually impossible.
The swimming pool turned out to be little more than an over sized paddling pool, and although there are signs about no diving, jumping, splashing etc it was a complete farce as children bombed each other, screamed and even dived ( not deep enough!) into the pool continously. My daughter was very disappointed by the mayhem and chose not to return to the pool. Children under 16 were to be overseen by a parent - maybe having a beer in the club house next door was sufficient for some parents to feel that they were on hand for their children

Bucklesgrove is a quiet friendly site, with all the staff happy to help. The pitches slope downhill somewhat but not so much you cant compensate with your corner steadies. Toilet/ shower block was adequate and clean. The indoor pool was tiny and would only need ½ a dozen people to fill it but it was warm and the pool area was spotless, it is joined to the bar so you can have a drink while the kids splash about. The bar/club itself is a good size for the size of the site but the entertainment is "low key" (their words not mine, but accurate) karaoke, quiz night etc. leaving the camp and turning right there is a Budgens supermarket or a bit further down the road a Tesco express for anything you need. The location of Bucklesgrove is ideal for a trip to either "Wookie Hole" or "Cheddar Caves" Tickets for both are available in reception. Overall we had a great stay at Bucklesgrove, it did help that after months of rain the sun finally came out. 3 nights was ideal as we had time to visit the caves and the fleet air museum before moving on.

Stayed for one week from May Bank holiday weekend. What can we say? superb! Thoroughly enjoyable (apart from the weather!). We had read reviews about how busy it got at bank holidays, so was a little concerned, but perhaps the weather kept people away this time!
We were 2 couples + 5 kids, in 2 tents with electric hook up for one of them. Were given a brilliant 2 pitches in the top corner of the main camping field (not the overflow). Acres of space for our large Vango 600 + windbreaks. Hookup was 2 far away for our cable, but were able to borrow an extension free of charge from reception, no problem.
site was very clean and tidy, toilet / shower facilities were well maintained. On site pub was excellent - food was a little disappointing in the evening the one time we eat in. Entertainment was first rate and highly enjoyable - we won a a BBQ! Launderette was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was just right - could even sit in the bar and and keep an eye on the kids too.
Would definitely return again without a second thought - a good base to explore the area, thoroughly enjoyed Wells and its Cathedral, well worth a visit.
WELL DONE BUCKLEGROVE! ********

A great little site - very friendly staff - waited for us when we arrived late as we were held up on the M5. Lovely, level pitch on a peaceful field. Toilet / shower block lovely and clean - and heated! Didn't get to use the swimming pool or bar, but the staff / owners are keen for you to be happy and the addition of the swimming pool, play area etc are a genuine sign that they want to do their best. Reasonable price and smashing area - Cheddar and Glastonbury well worth visiting. We opted for the upper field - bit more tranquil. We even received a Christmas Card from Bucklegrove - nice touch - will return and it is worth a visit
