We turned up on the off chance that we may get in. Having phoned previously for saturday night and was told that the site is full, so we were a little aprehensive that we may not be able to get in for Sunday night. The staff in reception could not have been nicer and more accomodating. Gave us a map and circled 2 locations so we had a choice of where we could stay. We chose the location pitch 64. Once settled and the mains plugged in, I had a nose around the park, and found a nice mix of tourers, private owners, and hirers. Everyone was relaxed and happy to talk.
The toilet block and showers was a nice surprise, with hot water a plenty. Toilets were cleaned regularly. Even in our motorhome space is limited, so used the washing up facility and these were great. Not many I have seen have been covered and protected from the elements so well.
Being close to Halloween, they were having a carvery evening on and upon booking in was asked if we wanted to book a table which was done. The food and staff again were excellent and friendly even whilst being so obviously very busy. Great clubhouse and food. Value for money was excellent, again all decorated in Halloween style.
My Son was desparate to try the pool, and so found a clean indoor swimming pool, with a small hot pool next to it. I went in the pool, and the rules are that Children must be supervised by an adult, as there is no lifeguard. Tables and chairs are provided for adults to sit down whilst the kids swim ( please take off your shoes tho). Behind reception I found the laundry room, and a very old International tumble dryer, which charged 20p. This was fantastic - after our swim, I put the towels in the dryer, and after 5 minutes were completely dry. (powered by Gas and Electricity). So much better than trying to dry them in the camper.
Forgot to mention that each pitch is very ample in size, our camper is I think 7 meters and fit in easily. Pitches are also nicely devided by small hedge so giving extra privacy.
Shop is well stocked and our motorhome had lost its plug, found a replacement in a great small bowl, that has been great for the rest of the holiday. Sign said warm crossiants delivered and available between 9 and 10 but didn't use this.
Trying to be objective and finding a fault, but really cannot. A big positive here is the friendliness of the staff.

Stayed here for 4 nights, we enjoyed so much we extended. Lovely caravan site with a really nice indoor pool which our 2 year old loved.
Staff were really nice and felt like a proper family run business. Especially Donna who went our of her way to make sure we had a great time.
It also was lovely being close to the bar as was able to have a few pints of thatchers whilst sitting out side my caravan.
Would highly recommend this place

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Bucklegrove. We stayed on the Torview field.
This site has stunning views, it's really close to Cheddar and Weston-S-M.
The facilities were really nice and clean. The shop was well stocked and the staff were very friendly. We went to the bar, the food was good value for money.
The park has a lovely family feel to it.
Will certainly come back.

A bit disappointed with this site. Its in a stunning location and close to beautiful Wells and Cheddar, but its looking a bit run down, and seasonal caravans and owner statics seem to be common making this site feel overcrowded and untidy at busy times, mainly during the school holidays.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Our pitch ( Strawberry Field ) was tired looking with rough hard-standing and full of weeds. We were surrounded by 6 other touring caravans which were all seasonal and the occupants very noisy even at 1am. The site is popular with families and is very busy during school holidays, where they run a popular kids club in the bar overlooking the small play area.
Food reasonably priced but nothing special but has take away option. Nice bar with outdoor seating.
The loos and showers are okay with lots of hot water, very clean and good cubicles.
There is a small indoor pool with a splash pool for the babies, its a hit with everyone of all ages and has changing rooms.
The shop is okay and stocks essential items and fresh bread, pastries.
On the whole a lovely location, but the site is looking tired and too many seasonal / statics. Its the holidays so you expect the site to be busy, but the top field was looking more like a festival site than a caravan site.

A lovely little campsite. This campsite and all the staff were lovely. We originally booked for the weekend of the 9th May, but the weather was supposed to be horrendous! so we rang the evening we were supposed to go and ask if we could we arrange, which they did, with no fuss and a really helpful manner. There is an on site bar, we didn't use, but the food looked lovely. There was a swimming pool as well which is adults only from 9am to 10am. This is the time that we went, and there was only my friend and I using the swimming pool. At the swimming pool there are a couple of seats to watch the swimmers. The toilets and shower areas are all clean and tidy but could maybe do with a little updating. The showers have both a box to put clothes in, which has a lid so you can sit on it as well, along with 2 hooks. The showers were warm and easy to use. All the roads are tarmacked and smooth. There is a 'key' entry. We arrived at about 8 as we had to travel up after work. But we advised that we would be a little late, but we advised we would be and they left all the information and key in the bar. We stayed Friday night and Saturday night, then came back on Sunday. We went to Cheddar Gorge on the Saturday, which was fantastic and really close to the campsite! We also decided to treat ourselves and go out on the Saturday night. They have a local food pub really close to them in the village of Rodney Stoke. It is in a walkable distance, either on the main road, I would advise not as it is quite a fast road. Or there is an alternative route. This goes up to the top of the campsite, turn left down the road, straight across the cross roads. At the end of the this road turn left and then right, follow the road and the entrance to the pub is on you right. The food and staff are lovely. Take a torch with you if you are going or coming back, as this is a narrow road and cars still use this road. There was a pay area for the kids, but we had no kids with us, but they did look as though they were having great fun, especially in the glorious weather! The route to get there was really easy, and the postcode on the website take you straight there. Overall a LOVELY place.

As promised, we returned for the 3rd time to this lovely campsite in an idyllic location. However, this was our first trip with a dog and we were sadly disappointed. The site claims to be dog-friendly, but in fact, as soon as we arrived we were issued with an A4 piece of paper with a long list of doggy do's and don'ts! The dog was confined to one field, which was not where the bar was, so we couldn't even sit outside the bar for a drink, which we found extraordinary considering it's a 'dog-friendly' site! We were charged £3 per night for our pup and he wasn't allowed to go anywhere. This is the most we've ever paid for a dog and the site provided the least amount of facility. We were asked to walk the dog off the site, so why charge us to have him on site??? Whilst we appreciate that dogs shouldn't be allowed in a child's play area, there is no reason why we couldn't walk him around the site or sit outside the bar, surely? In fact, there were several people with dogs who had the same opinion as us and said they wouldn't return because of this. In fact, the dogs were better behaved than some of the people on the site!
However, we still maintain that the site is situated perfectly with stunning views and the owners are friendly and helpful. I just think that they need to relax their doggy rules for future otherwise they may end up losing a lot of business.

We have just returned back from our trip from Bucklegrove. When we arrived it was pouring down so welcomed the move from grass to hardstanding and the indoor pool gave us something nice to do with the children while the rain stopped so didn't have to pitch the awning in the rain. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ladies in the shop / reception where lovely and really helpful about places to go.
The campsite was well maintained, shower block and wash area very clean and the water was nice and hot. The only 'rule' seemed to be no hard ball games which is understandable as quite a small site. Would definitely recommend the campsite and also recommend the Rodney Stoke Inn close by; good service and really great food. It's on the main road to the left as you come out of the campsite but you can walk there down the lane opposite which is better if you have children. A bit of a steep walk but we have an 11 year old and twins aged 3 and managed it with the double buggy.
Would recommend Wookey Hole; we're not a big fan of these kind of places but it was really good value and the kids loved it. Also good if weather isn't great as lots of it is indoors. We particularly enjoyed the circus in the barn which was performed by teenagers. We took bikes but didn't use as the main road very busy and the lanes too hilly. Only downside was the wifi not working so plan your days out just in case rather than rely on having internet access. Also it wasn't busy when we were there so lots of space for the children which wouldn't be the case if busy. The play area is quite small and there weren't really other open areas for children other than your pitch. All in all very nice and would definitely return :)

Cosy cabins
Just back from our second visit to this lovely park. We were so impressed with our first visit that friends decided to book the cabin next door this time. They have added mini fridge freezers this year and some other nice touches like the curtains. There's something really special about sitting on the veranda and enjoying the stunning Somerset vista; even the rain didn't dampen our enjoyment. The cabins are so warm and comfy that we may never use our tent again. The park facilities are really clean and the staff are very friendly. We will definitely be back as there's so much still to see and do in the area. A great value and hassle free break.

We stayed at Bucklegrove for a week in the strawberry field which is the main field for the bar/pool and play area. The site is in a very good location for cheddar gorge, wookey hole and wells. It is clean and fairly well maintained although the toilets are dated and the showers sort of sprinkled you lightly. The staff were helpful and friendly and the pool although small, went down well with my son who swam every morning. The pub is ok, however I feel the food was very average, I paid £7 for a curry which wasn't very nice, it is well worth paying a few pounds extra at the rodney stoke pub down the road which serves excellent food. That said, the entertainment was fun and lots of people appeared to be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately the site was noisy, we were pitched right next to a path and heard lots of teenagers running past until at least 11:30, in fact the site didn't go quiet until this time every night. There is another field at the back of the site which would probably be a better option for a quieter time.
Because of the noise and inconsiderate regulars in statics and caravans, I would not use this site again.

Just spent 3 nights here. Should of been 2 but stayed an extra night.
We got lost on the way but it is easy to find. Trying to be smart and going a faster way and not the way we know. Great to go into cheddar and the caves, for Bristol, wells, brean etc
Seemed a bit higher cost for pitch per night than the one we did have booked but changed our minds because of weather forecast and went here. £20 a night. But free pool was worth the extra
All the staff very nice and the other camper caravanners
The pitch we had was very nice right by the park pool and bar.
Nice and clean. I did find you did hit rock under the mud and if I did not have new rock pegs the normal pegs would not of went in.
Toilet block very clean, washing up area very clean, bath very clean everything very clean.
Pool was lovely. Small but was not busy so not a problem. May be if it was summer holidays unless everyone goes off for the day. Park nice and basic.
Bar good prices clean nice staff and the best chicken nuggets ever. Really nice chicken nuggets.
Was not open in the day when we were there. (unsure if the open day time in peak season)
Shop was well stocked. Prices were ok. Not as cheap as Tesco etc but not a expensive as other shops. I was excepting them to be higher.
One thing I think they could have a change machine. Needed 20p for hair dryer sometimes never had change.
But a great site we will be going back and would recommend
