We stayed during our June tour down south, for several nights mid week while children were all at school. Our children are yet to start school, so for us, this was the best time to visit this lovely site.

Whilst the pool is small it was all you would expect, and having it to ourselves was just perfect. It is part of the club house building, which during our visit was not open. Not a problem for us though as our three children of 6mths, 2yrs and 4yrs are not big on drinking!

The setup looked perfect though, small bar/ lounge area with benches outside and the children’s play area in full view.

The toilets are clean and have no complaints from us.

The site is clean and is in three parts, two touring areas and a static area. Sadly, the pitch we were on was not level and we did struggle to get the motorhome level. This didn’t spoil things though. Some pitches were a little too close to each other in our opinion.

Staff were friendly and the shop had plenty to offer.

Having the best weather this country had to offer this year, we chose to stay on site and relax in the sun, so we can not comment on the local area, walking, cycling etc. However, with places like Cheddar being five minutes down the road, there are plenty of nice places to visit.

The children’s play area had no complaints from our children.

Overall the site was great. I can imagine it to be busy during school holidays and weekends and the pool being too small for large numbers, but the site it’s self would cope fine.

We just stayed here over bank holiday and had nice time. We were very lucky to get in I think after we had problems at brean with our tent getting smashed to pieces in the wind, I fixed it and hoped to get in another site so was very pleased that we managed to get in.
Site is very nice and clean, barrier key on entry so its private, two fields to choose from for tents. Also there was a family bathroom with a bath which is a great addition for families as I had a 4 year old and a 18 month old who wouldn't of used showers so we managed to bath them. Think facilities down near reception were better than where we were in 'the grove' but was still ok there with toilets, showers and dishwashing facilities.
Only problems I can think of were the pitches are way too close together our guy ropes were crossing with the tent next to us, so not very private at all, we had other peoples kids coming in our tent which is ok but can be a bit annoying first thing! also the club house was very noisy,
Would definitely visit again, its set in such a beautiful area, and they seem to think of entertainment quite a lot but personally I wouldn't ever go in the school holidays or bank holidays again, for us camping is a way to get away from the hustle and bustle and this was a bit too noisy and packed for us! Lovely, clean, and great staff though!

Loved it so much went back again. The staff are lovely and the clubhouse is great not having to drive. Theres bingo, quiz nights, Kareoke and when we were there the Mangled Wurzels appeared and were great family entertainment. We have a large unit and the pitches are a tad on the small size but we managed and had no problems. There is a small swimming pool which is cleaned daily. The toilet facilities are clean. The Wi Fi is free in the bar area. Cheddar and Wookey hole are a must. The fellow campers are friendly and we had the pleasure of meeting some very nice people from north of the Country - Hello Barbara - if you read this, and we will definitely be keeping in touch.

We only stayed for 2 nights camping,

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The site was very well laid out, clean and tidy with excellent shower/toilet facilities.

On the site there is a Pool which looked lovely and clean but didn't get chance to use this,

The Bar had good drinks prices and was nice to sit outside and have a relaxing drink,

The Pitch we were on was a standard pitch with no hook up, The pitch was well used and due to this had little/no grass around it, this made the area under and around the tent rather muddy.

On our stay we visited Cheddar gorge which was amazing and a must to see.Dont get their early as nothing opens until around 10.30am.

On the way back from cheddar we drove up the gorge and stopped of at The New inn pub in Priddy this served excellent food and friendly staff and the back lanes bring you out next to the campsite.

Overall would definitely stay at Bucklegrove again

Myself my husband and 2yr old son visited Bucklegrove and booked in for 4nights Mon-Fri.The total cost was £60 a bit pricey but thought ok they have a pool a park and a bar so it justified it-sort of. We arrived to find the bar was only open on Friday and Saturday nights and open fully in 'peak season'. Peak Season being the school holidays! I thought this was a bit misleading and felt a bit annoyed. Granted we had our toddler with us so it wasn't like it was a mad boozy week but we liked the thought of having a quiet drink and maybe a meal. Shame.

The pool area was lovely we were very lucky to have it to ourselves on the two occasions we used it. The playpark was just a climbing frame with a slide and two bouncy things I was amazed there were no swings. The showers/toilets/baby room were kept very clean and the site itself is set in beautiful surroundings. Tents are close to each other so it's not very private.O ur pitch (situated at the top in the grove) was just mud so our tent is in a poor condition I don't suppose the constant monsoon like weather helped!

All in all Bucklegrove is ok. I felt it was pricey for what we got

We've just returned from a long weekend here. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the 'Grove' field which was pleasantly quiet and very well maintained. Our only complaint was that the showers in the grove were a bit of a drizzle but the ones in the main block in the main field were well worth the short walk.

Terraced pitches were a good idea as they prevented the sliding-down-hill-in-the-night syndrome. Staff were friendly and helpful. A barrier entry system made site feel secure.

If you stay here a walk in the nearby Ebbor Gorge is a must. The 2km 'scramble' though the gorge was a very pleasant mini-adventure. (The food at the Rodney Stoke Inn isn't bad either.)

This is such a great site! its the most peaceful one we have visited in a very long time

The pool was lovely, all the showers and toilets were really clean, and we never had any problems with being able to use them, despite it being a bank holiday weekend and the site being very busy

We used the family bath room a couple of times as we have a baby and its easier to use than the showers and that was always lovely and clean

We didn't go to the bar so cant comment on that, but they had live entertainment one night which we could just about hear at our pitch which was in the 'grove' section of the site, well away from the pub (it could be quite noisy I would imagine if you were close to the pub) that being said, it all finished at 11 and there's a no noise after midnight rule

The pitches are quite cramped, but overall the site was so clean, and peaceful, with such a lovely friendly family atmosphere that we didn't find it a problem at all.

We will definitely return, but would want to pitch again in the 'grove' area as its furthest away from the pub

Its a bit of a drive into cheddar (about 15 minutes) but overall close to most attractions

We have just got back from a fantastic Easter break, the staff really made you feel welcome from the start. The on site pool is great and the bar is a bonus ( not having to drive )
My sons enjoyed a full on 4 days from playing bingo, to the Quiz night, egg hunt ( with a real life Easter bunny) and the WII tournament. The food on site was very good and very reasonably priced as was the bar prices.
The facilities were above average and the even though the site was full we had experienced no problems. We had a hard-standing pitch which was on the main field and was adequate in size despite having a large unit (we only had a problem pitching because of the way the neighbouring camper had parked their vehicle). The shop on site had the necessities.
All in All we would recommend this site especially to families with children of any age. We are looking forward to our next visit to Bucklegrove as its outstanding and believe me we are not easily pleased.

Had a lovely weekend here (2 adult, 3 children-10-10-8, 1dog)was my boyfriends 1st time camping so I was glad this was a nice site to break him in. The weather had been terrible prior to our trip but BOY did the sun shine for our weekend. The swimming pool was just great so we didn't go far as the site was brill for the kids. Showers & toilets were clean and I'm very fussy!
I will most definitely return at some point in time.

Stayed here for a few days on the way down to Cornwall.

Positives:

Staff at reception were helpful, and site was friendly and with a good level of facilities. Playground and pub were very good, and kids all enjoyed the pool. The large field at the end of the site provided a decent sized area for playing football. Magnificent views are available from this field also.

Site is very conveniently situated for attractions in the area e.G. Wookie Hole, Cheddar and Ebbor Gorge, etc. A massive highlight was attending the balloon festival in Bristol - worth coming to the Bristol area just for that! Although a little further away, also well worth going to Oakham Treasures (excellent collection of historical memorabilia).

Negatives:

Regarding other comments, I agree that the pitches are a little cramped, and ours was on a fairly steep angle also.

Also, in the field we were in, the toilets in the toilet block appeared fairly dirty, and were not cleaned for some time which put us off a little.

Overall, site was OK, but at £31 / night was a little disappointing.
