Stayed here for a week, staff were friendly bar was nice, food was good.
The downsides are two showers each for men and women for 70 pitches which is a bit silly, but they were clean,
no dog walk on site, not allowed to walk on site with them, they had a busy country lane to walk along at the back and you had to access this by climbing a huge stile that is homemade and very slippery when wet an older person could not get over this.
They state that they have entertainment but this is bingo, quiz, or board games. Swimming pool is the most smallest one I have ever seen.
The pitches are too tight for motorhomes in order to get out three cars had to move, you are also to close to the next pitch. The kids 11 and 16 were bored nothing to do.
So to say I was disappointed is an understatement.

A really friendly site, in a very pretty area of Somerset and very close to Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
The pitches were of a good size and close to shower blocks and washing areas but was nice that they aren't in view of the pitches.
We arrived on a Tuesday when the site was very quiet, due to the lovely weather the site was pretty full for the weekend although, never felt over crowded.
There's a small play area and an indoor pool area to keep the kids amused and a bar serving reasonably priced food and drinks. At all times the staff were very friendly and helpful and their relaxed attitude made all the difference.
A really lovely, friendly site, this is one site we will definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 7 nights in July, this is one of the worst campsites I have ever visited, the pitches are tiny, only just enough room to fit caravan and awning, car has to sit in front on road, this causes havoc when anyone arrives/leaves with people moving vehicles to allow access.
The toilets were not clean and clumps of hair on the shower walls were there for the entire week. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere, one of which decided to descend on my head, dead beetles on the sink worktop (still there 2 days later)
The pool was lovely and warm and my children loved this but it shuts to early and often not back in time to use it. The staff were lovely friendly and helpful. Would not revisit.

Previously stayed in my trailer tent in June 2010. I have put a full review on for that visit. On this occasion we had 4 adults and 2 children in one of the static vans.
The accommodation was excellent and we were right next to the bar/pool. Due to being early June the bar was only open Friday and Saturday night. The bar is excellent. The food is very good and so is the drink, especially the 4 pint pitcher of Thatchers Gold for a tenner!
The weather was a bit rubbish but cant be helped. We are going again in our trailer tent in October this time with another tent giving 6 adults and 3 kids in total! Wish me luck!
I would like to make a point on pitches. My trailer tent is 8 berth and comfortably fitted the tent, windbreaks etc and 2 cars. Some pitches are bigger than others. If you get one on the small size, have a wander around and if you see a better one just ask and they will happily move you.

Arrived at little late at the site. But found our way to the bar and was allocated our pitch. The site was very busy and had to ask two people to move there cars just so we could get the caravan onto the pitch.
It had a good little shop that stocked some local produce, papers, milk etc. The site did have a pool but we never got to use it as we were out during the day and by the time we got back it was closed. The site is situated close to Cheddar, Wells, Bath so there is plenty to do for all ages.
Even though in a lovely location the pitches on the site are very small. There is just about enough room for the caravan and awning, but there is no room for the car. This is the most cramped site I have ever stayed at and for that reason alone I will not visit again.

We stayed on this site just after the bank holiday for 3 nights then for the royal wedding weekend. The entrance to the site is very clear and there’s lots of room for my big van to get in there.
We were greeted with a friendly and warm welcome and given our pitch. We navigated to the pitch and I couldn’t get the van + awning + car on the pitch. They are VERY small, I had to put the car on the pitch next door which was fine while it was quiet.
The toilet block was very dated and not overly clean which is not a problem as we use our van most of the time.
The swimming pool is very small but perfect for our little ones, at the back of the pool is the bar area and a small play park. Again they were fine for the little ones.
Weirdly, I suspect as the site is on a hill (but it seems very sheltered) every night the wind got up really highly. So much so I was always checking the awning, next day it dropped. I ended up taking it down as it was bothering me with the high winds you get at night and that I couldn’t fit my car on the pitch.
As we got to the weekend, the site filled up as expected and my goodness, we were all on top of each other. There’s just no room.
Cheddar Gorge is worth a day out, the caves are good and there’s lots to see including a few walks along the hills.
Wookey – wouldn’t bother, waste of money. You pay to go round the caves which are very good, and then they advertise a dinosaur land, fairy land and indoor adventure stuff. Basically they have put the prices up sky high, dropped in a few plastic dino’s and have a very tacky indoor play area.
Fleet air arm – VERY good. A lot cheaper than the Wookey place, and there’s a lot to see. Even have one area with a mocked up aircraft carrier. Liked by all (I mean the wife, who thought it would be a lads thing)
Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed our time there, but due to the cramped pitches, we won’t be returning.

We booked this 4 night break day before we left. So bit unsure. We normally camp but decided to use a caravan.
All I can say what a fantastic site. Handy for Cheddar,Longleat and beaches.
Pool area clean and warm, Bar also very clean and friendly staff and play area kept my 6 year old happy.
Our caravan was next to the bar so worried about noise. No problems come 9pm the place was dead quite.
Would I recommend this site , yes.

We stayed at Bucklegrove for a short break in our tent April 2011. The pitch was of a good size and we had a even/flat pitch and although the ground was very dry due to the lovely weather, we did NOT have any tent peg issues.
The small toilet block in our field was nice & of a good standard. The field was full, yet the facilities were never over busy. Washing up facilities at the back of the block were the same. The only minor thing was that there were no waste bins in this field.
The shop in reception stocked most things you may require at reasonable cost.
The pool area is great for the kids. It does get busy though, so there is an adults only session every morning.
The bar is situated nicely in front of the small play park area, so you can watch the kids with a drink during the evening. Not sure that it is open every day, although it was over the whole of the Easter break. We did not try the food at the bar but it looked nice.
It's not a place for rowdy groups, its more for families & couples.
Enjoyable stay & we will come back.

Had a great 2 weeks here. The kids loved the pool and it was always clean and never too busy. The bar area was good and we eat here a few times and the food was excellent. All the staff were helpful and the little shop had all the small items you needed.
Our pitch was huge and we were able to put up a 6m tent and a gazebo.
The toilets and showers were always clean and again even though it was school holidays were never too busy. The family bathrooms were really good and had a bath which for a £1 was nothing for a few minutes peace and quiet away from the kids.
Would go back again.

Spent 5 days here during school summer holidays. The site was busy but amazingly quiet. There was no excess noise and a great atmosphere.
Wardens were all very friendly and helpful, even offering discounted rates for Cheddar Gorge tickets, saving £3.00 per person.
The pool is good enough for its intentions. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and well maintained with ample hot water.
The bar is good, it has an extensive range of drinks at reasonable prices, although we were disappointed with the quality of the food.
As for the pitches, we were on strawberry field, with hardstanding. I would not call them level! A 'few' bricks were required under the legs! The ground is solid so you need rock pegs and a good mallet, however, the drainage is excellent.
On the whole - certainly worth a visit but just watch out for the cost with the extras.
