We stayed here one night on route down south from the Lake District. It is very close to the M6 - only a few minutes drive from the junction. You can see and hear the motorway in the distance from the camping field, but the traffic noise was not loud enough to keep me awake at night and I am a light sleeper.
The facilities consist of 2 unisex toilets and a shower so they couldn't cope with many people. However they were adequate for the number of people staying mid-week in August. The facilities could definitely do with a good clean, but maybe that is a woman's observation, as my husband didn't think they were too bad.
The owner is very friendly, and it seems cheap at £6 a night. The driveway is easy to miss, especially as they don't advertise it as a campsite on the turning from the road.

This is a good site, especially in the week its quite and can get a fishing peg, Friendly run farm John is a great bloke and Harold his brother they both run the farm and make time to chin wag to us all, Pauline johns wife comes on the farm to feed the cats and also very friendly, You must try the Huge eggs most double yokes But Very Tasty, Showers and Hot water on site along with toilets, single toilet round by the pool.
There is plenty of fish and has quite a few pegs, I started fishing last year and here was where it all started, We have made loads of friends there and catch up 2/3 times a year
Great little place for fishing

Spent 3 nights here before moving on and was nagged constantly by the family to return here which we did. The site is small and quiet (which we like) with no noisy all night parties. If that's your thing then this is not the site for you. Just off the M6 with good links to other towns in the area. Stafford is about 4 miles or so with a good shopping centre, Telford (20 miles) even more so. Penkridge is a small town 4 miles south of the site with good shops for stocking up on essentials. The site itself is part of a working farm so you will have the sound of tractors and the smell of moo-cows but that detracts from the charm of the place one bit. The site is on a very slight slope unless you pitch in the orchard (handy for the loos and shower) which is level. The 2 loos & shower themselves are basic and could perhaps do with upgrading but they are clean and we never ran out of loo roll. Everything is communal and the dish washing facility is also located there. Showers are metered and 50 pence will buy you about 8 minutes. The water for washing up is also metered, 20p for six minutes. The odd thing is that putting 20p in will provide hot water not only for the washing up sink but does all the hand basins too! It will vary in temperature from reasonably hot to cold so you need to look out for that! There are two very friendly farm dogs on site (the site is dog friendly by the way) Bob, who loves you to throw stones for him and Missy who is a football player sadly overlooked by England! There are also about a dozen cats, various rabbits and ducks. The fishing pond is a gem and has some very good carp in it. The site is run by John the farmer and his brother. John is totally laid back and a totally good egg. Tent pitches when we were there cost £6 a night and caravans with electric hook-up £8 a night. Don't everybody rush there though as we want to find a space when we go back!

We have just spent two nights at Dunston Heath Farm. The weather has been great. My sister has got a great sunburn! Moral is wear a heavy coat while fishing.
Now back to the camp site. When driving to the site, go up Long Lane and look for the cardboard fish nailed to the telegraph pole and follow it, (which I failed to do and had to ring for directions!). On Friday the site was quiet, more tents and caravans came on Saturday. The pitches were good, the toilets were clean and the shower worked. There was no waiting to use them.
There were plenty of fields for my 2 daughters, (3 & 5years old), to run round in, (the 3 year old says, 'It's lovely'). There was a fishing pond which was also popular with non-users of the site.
Everyone was friendly, the dogs love balls of all sizes and there are plenty of cows. It's excellent value for money.

I can only echo the comments of everyone else who has written a review of this site. It really is a great basic site with friendly, helpful owners who want to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We only live 22 miles away so will be going back again this year after our main holiday in July / August. 1 thing to add, take your own loo roll so you dont get caught out when you need it, if you know what I mean!

We use dunston heath farm for 3 yrs at a regular intervals , we can not find a better place to stay hassle free and owners who are second to none. Nothing seems too much trouble, noise is at a low level, really peaceful. Just to add on to help campers choose Dunston heath farm for their break in the countryside is their fishing pool. Its has good pegs for all to fish from the pool contains carp mirror and common and crusians tench golden tench bream perch roach Rudd
Fishing has a charge of £4.00 per day, great value and John the bailiff is only too glad to help the younger kids and get them fishing. All I can say is you will be back again and again.

This is one of the best sites we have used since we have been caravanning. It is owned by John and Pauline and Johns brother Harold who are all great people. It is a working farm with dairy cows, there is also a well stocked fishing pool. There are just a few electric hook ups. Toilet and showers at 50p a shower and they are clean and tidy. Caravans, tents and rallies are all welcome.

We finally got to stay at this wonderful farm. Had to abandon our first visit after our race car took too much damage. This place is a little gem. very clean & friendly. There is only one shower room which is very clean & at 50p for 8 mins of hot water was a bargain. Separate toilet next door. Looked like there were spaces for around 12 hook ups, and up to 20 caravans and tents, poss less. John Senior & John Jnr both very nice blokes. Small farm shop selling lots of home grown grub. A beautiful little pond for fishing, very well stocked and very popular for the whole family. We had hook up for our motorhome which worked a treat. This site was very well cared for, well managed and a superb price. The peace was fab. lots of children, but all under control, and we didn't hear a sound after 10.00pm. I'm sure this will be different in full season, and we would be very happy to give it another visit. Can't wait.

I keep forgetting to add my review of this site. Apple trees notwithstanding (slight accident with a branch and the caravan roof) this is a lovely site. Anyone who wants a stop over near the M6 couldn't do better. Great price and very helpful owner, lovely cats! Easy access from the motorway.

Arrival we were met by John the farmer who showed us where we could pitch, basically anywhere we wanted except for near the electric hook ups as we were not using them.John is a very pleasant man and was very helpful he informed us that if we needed him at any time to ring him on his mobile. The farm pets were delightful with numerous cats, kittens (one was offered to us), rabbits and dogs. Missy the farm dog was especially wonderful we had a very happy day playing with her throwing her ball of which she never tired. Unfortunately we cannot have pets where we live so this was a special time for the family. The site is conveniently situated near the M6 and was easy to find, also it’s a great location for Alton Towers and Drayton Manor. Don’t miss Drayton Manor it’s an excellent theme park with fair prices for food/drink etc, the stand up rollercoaster was a hit with the youngsters. The site toilets were spacious and cleaned on a regular basis. There is only one shower but it did not cause problems as there were only a few users when we stayed. Also there is a sink for washing dishes and 3 sinks for personal washing. Oh and loo roll too.Hot water was 50p for 8 minutes but no hot water in the sinks so you have to get it from the shower. The site is great for bird watching with what we thought were House Martins darting over the field collecting insects and also an attractive fishing area. The field was large and level and as there are dogs some doggy poo about so had to be careful where to pitch. Dunston Heath is a friendly site with great views and ideal location and would also make an excellent overnight stop on longer journeys. Would we stay again? Absolutely yes, after all you can’t beat £6 per night!
