We have just returned home from a very pleasant weeks stay at Overbrook Caravan Park (myself hubby and border terrier dog Frank!).
On arrival we were met by Darren, who guided us to the pitch and assisted us to unhitch, this would be welcome if you don't have a motormover, as it would be quite tight to reverse park. Only minimal levelling needed on our pitch.
I would describe the site as rather like staying in a large well tended garden - grass perfectly cut and not a weed or a dead plant to be seen! Yes, I would agree with other comments that as far as actual size of site its not the biggest, but it seems to be part of the character, and we didn't feel cramped.
We were also glad of a site with some shelter by the surrounding trees from the high winds we had during our stay. Non awning pitches look a little restricted for outside space, however our pitch was plenty big enough for caravan awning and car.
Dogs must be walked off site, but plenty of footpaths nearby so was never an issue. The shower blocks are immaculate whatever time of the day, showers push button, but high pressure and hot, a nice touch is air freshener sprays for use in the toilets! The recycling is excellent, I recycle at home, and I feel quite guilty when I cant do my bit when away in the van!
The location of site was excellent for us with Pickering (the steam & old diesel trains are worth a day out) Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, and of course the Yorkshire moors all within easy reach. Thornton-Le-Dale is a lovely village with most of everything you may need within walking distance, shops, pubs, chip shop etc.
Darren & Natalie work very hard to keep this site nice, and we would return, the only minor point I would make is on approach to site from south (A64 - A169) the site entrance sign is tucked back on the gates and cant be seen until you are virtually there, so we had to brake and turn in quicker than the norm with a van in tow! a sign on the verge or a post would be helpful.

We had an excellent week at Overbrook. Natalie and Darren couldn't be more helpful. When we arrived, Darren took us to our pitch and helped us unhook and set-up. We had a full size pitch and found that we had plenty of room.
The ladies shower facilities were superb, but hubby said the gents needed updating, but nevertheless were extremely clean and functional. Mobile phone reception was good and the t.V. Reception was ok, but had to switch to analogue for ITV.
Lovely friendly owners, lovely quiet site in a picturesque village - what more could a caravanner want.

Just returned from Overbrook Caravan Park. We were lucky, just turned up and got a pitch for two nights because someone had cancelled, more fool them, it is a great site in a wonderful position.
The only site I have turned up at and the owner filled up my fresh water tank and personally showed us to our pitch. As reported by others, the Ladies' facilities have recently been refurbished to a high standard.
The gents has all you need and more with no charge for showering which make a refreshing change. There is an excellent laundry room with washers and driers and an iron. Although there is no Motorhome service point there are grey water emptying drains next to each fresh water supply and there is an Elsan point near the site entrance which we used on leaving.
Thornton le Dale is a beautiful village only tem minutes walk away. We also cycled to Pickering which is an easy 3 miles away along a lane and on a path beside the main road. There is a good Museum plenty of shops, pubs and cafes to fill a good day and the NYM Steam Railway goes to Goathland and Whitby (£16 and £18 Return).
Dalby Forest is a short ride away, There is a forest Drive (£7 Toll) but cycling in free and there are various levels from family to expert.
We will be returning for a winter break at the special over prices.

Just spent a lovely week here with my wife and little dog.
When we arrived check in was very quick and the then the owner accompanied us to our pitch and helped us unhitch and set up. We booked a non awning pitch and they are a bit tight for space but when we return we will book an awning pitch just to give us more room to sit out etc.
My wife said the ladies shower block was excellent and hopefully the mens block will be updated soon as it’ in need of it although it does function well. Two showers, two loos and several hand basins in the mens area but there was never a queue.
Dogs must be exercised off site and there are plenty of walks.
The village is a ten minute walk and I would recommend The New Inn who allowed us to take the little dog with us. It’s a bit pricey but the food is excellent.
The heat was pretty intense when we were there only interrupted by a few showers. After the showers there were rather a lot of flies about and these entered the van quite easily. A citronella candle helped get rid but fly screens are a necessity.
We had some lovely trips out around the NY Moors and the week flew by.
We will definitely go back to Overbrook and hopefully get a photo of the elusive kingfisher!

We have just returned from a stay at this sight. We were very disappointed by the pitch as stated by Dave8858, the non awning pitches were actually just a gravel patch at the side of the road through the park, our door opened up onto the dirt track and we only had a small piece of grass to the front of the caravan and we had to park our car here.
Other than this the site was pleasant and in a lovely location. The ladies toilets had been fitted out to an extremely high standard and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a nice clean site but if you are planning a visit here ensure you book an awning pitch even if you do not have an awning thus making sure you get a proper pitch.
The village of Thornton Le Dale is beautiful and well worth a visit.

This is our 2nd year of touring so we are relatively new to all of this. We found this site at the recommendation of a friend who lives in nearby Pickering last year. We love the site, Darren and Natalie are so friendly and helpful. Darren shows us to the pitch each time we arrive and has practically unhooked and parked up the caravan before we've even got out of the car.
The showers are currently under some modernisation and the ladies section has been improved tremendously from last year already. There is always ample amounts of hot water and the room is always warm.
We love the quietness of the site and fully appreciate all of the work and effort that Natalie and Darren are putting into making this site even better. This has become our favourite and look forward to our next stay in 2 weeks

Excellent location for access to the Yorkshire coast or moors. Thornton Le Dale is a charming village with a good selection of shops selling local produce. Surrounding the site there were plenty of walks for the dogs.
Site facilities were very clean and the owners very helpful. I would doubt that there are sufficient toilets or showers for convenience if the site were full and the unit did not have its own shower facilities
There were no dog waste bins or an on site dog walk. This meant that the dogs had to be taken off site for exercise and if they had an accident before we got them off site there was nowhere to dispose of the result save for the normal site waste bins.
I booked a non awning pitch which in hindsight was a mistake. The next caravan across from us was separated from us only by the width of the single track road through the site. This resulted in a pitch which did not permit sitting outside for a drink and to enjoy the sunshine without feeling as if we were encroaching onto the pitch of the caravan behind us.
The site is in lovely location but we would not return due to the volume of vans and limited size of some pitches. Costs for pitches should reflect the size of the pitch and where space is limited this should be explained to people when they book.

Just spent 4 nights on pitch 5. Beautiful site, very good facilities. Owners Natalie and Darren were lovely and very welcoming. They also helped to site the caravan.
The showers were excellent and the shower block was always warm. Plenty of hot water and free showers. Never used the car once, we started our walks straight from the site. Dalby forest very close and well worth a visit.
Natalie kindly showed us around the cottages and they were lovely. Worth considering during the colder months. Hoping to stay for longer in June.

This is the best site we have visited. The whole site and facilities are immaculate. The owners, Darren and Natalie, were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We have never been to a site where you are given help pitching your caravan, Darren personally showed us to our pitch and gave us detailed information about the site. He later stopped by to help when we were having difficulty with out satellite dish!
We were so impressed with this site that we have told all our caravanning friends and can't wait to go back.
We are even thinking of taking one of the cottages for a New Year break.

We selected this site on the basis of the previous reviews, but on arrival, we found it was not for us.
We were on an extended tour of the area and of the many we were staying at, this was the most expensive. All that has been said previously regarding the cleanliness, upkeep, tranquillity etc is all true but this is a small site and we found it cramped. We were told exactly where and how to park our vehicle and which bit of space was for our use. Once parked, we felt hemmed in and the majority of users had caravans, cars and awnings which meant there was hardly any space between us and our neighbours. The outlook from the site was pleasant but nothing could be seen but other units from out pitch.
We arrived on a Saturday and was staying 3 nights so assumed that many weekenders would be leaving the following morning so we politely asked the owner if he had space the following day, if we we might move to a more spacious pitch. He said he would see what he could do and would let us know - we never heard another word.
We have 2 smallish dogs and we are very responsible owners and always ensure they are not a nuisance to others. On arrival, we were presented with a list of rules and regulations including the rules about dogs' 'toilet' arrangements.
On the credit side, the site is immaculate and peaceful and the area is beautiful. The facilities were excellent though had push-button showers. The water was hot and plentiful though. I loved all the birdlife that is there.
If you like a highly organised, regimented site that is beautifully kept and very quiet (adult only) then this would appeal.
