The old railway station situated at the edge of the picture postcard village of Thornton-le-Dale. It is easily accessed and you will receive a very warm welcome at reception.
The site is beautifully planted with trees, flowers and shrubs and very well maintained. We had one of the smaller pitches as none other was available when we booked.
There was only about a foot of grass between the side our van and the roadway as we were parked sideways to the road. We could have sat out at the back of the van, which is not ideal, but the weather was not conducive so the chairs stayed inside.
The facilities were good and kept very clean, but I found that the water in the showers was too hot for me and there was no way to regulate it. Consequently I didn't wash my hair for the duration of our stay.
I have to agree with other reviewers about the size of the showers which leaves very little room for manoeuvre and the totally enclosed space generates a great deal of steam which dampens everything. And if we are being picky, a mop is easier for cleaning the shower than a brush.
Buses from Thornton to Pickering/Helmsley and Scarborough are every 2 hours so you need to get your timing right (and don't rely on the North Yorks Railway to get you back in time for your bus) but all are well worth a visit.
We really enjoyed our visit; it was very peaceful on this adults-only site. But we did feel that too many pitches had been shoe-horned in to the available space, making it feel rather cramped.

Nice site, facilities very clean and excellent COVID measures
Pitches could be levelled better very uneven and small
Arrival time 1. 00pm which is OK, departure time is 11. 00am which is too early.
Lovely location for walking to the village which has a nice range of cafes and pubs, good selection for eating out.
Local bus service is good

Pleasant small site. Very quiet and peaceful.
Well maintained and facilities very clean. Showers could be improved by installing screens to provide a dry area.
Site well situated for exploring North Yorkshire. Half a mile from Thornton le Dale which is a very picturesque village.
Limited shops but good bakery, pub, cafes and paper shop. 2 miles from Pickering.
Recommended the site and area.

Just got to agree with all previous reviews that this is a great site to stay at.
On arrival Darren quickly sorted us out and showed us to our pitch pushing the caravan on, no motor mover required!
Nice stroll into the village, don't forget you probably need to book for the New Inn, but you won't be disappointed.
If you don't want to drive there are plenty of buses to Pickering and the east coast from the village center.
We will be back.

Enjoyed our stay at Overbrook caravan site, just wish we had booked for longer,
Lovely stroll down to Thornton Le Dale and a drink in the New Inn pub,
Had booked this site as my husband is a Bangers and Cash fan and he wanted to have a look at Matthewsons auction vehicles,
The little gift shop attached is good for present buying,
Overbrook is a lovely clean and tidy site and showers and toilets are fab,
Will definitely return if we are back up that way again

Had a great stay at Overbrook absolutely lovely quiet site well maintained Darren & Natalie couldn't do enough. Thank you x Very clean shower toilet amenities, fresh local eggs for sale
Washing machine available.
Felt very safe barrier entrance locked from midnight to 7am. Water electric very close to your caravan, gravel pitch with room for your car and sitting out space.
Pitch depends on the size of your outfit we had a non awning pitch with lovely views.
Hightly recommended

A well run beautiful site with excellent amenities, just a short walk to the centre of Thornton le Dale, where there are several good eateries.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our next visit.
Highly recommend.
