The setting is excellent, on the edge of the village which is, taking it very easy 10 minutes walk away. There are two pubs which serve food(we didn't indulge). The drinks though were on the expensive side. I'd like to know where the locals go because there weren't many Yorkshire voices in either.
There is a chippie and a pizza/kebab shop and a few other shops selling general provisions. Nearby Pickering has more choice.
The site itself was immaculate and the owners very friendly. The toilets/showers were very clean although I think there should be a few more, 2 toilets and showers doesn't seem enough especially I should imagine in peak times.
There are plenty of walks off the site to take the dog, loads of public footpaths round and through nearby fields.
The north yorks moors and the coast are within easy reach and Pickering is the southern end of the North Yorks moors railway.
A very enjoyable stay and we would definitely go again

A great site, the toilet block/showers were extremely clean and tidy. All other facilities, such as waste disposal; grey water disposal etc were easily accessible and clean. Park itself was kept immaculate, no litter anywhere and well kept pitches. A short, walk to the pituresque village of Thornton le Dale, which had a small supermarket and a couple of pubs. The owners were friendly and very helpful but not intrusive(this was our first outing as 'vanners'!). We will definitely be returning again soon!

Just had our first visit to Overbrook caravan park and hopefully it will not be the last. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, the facilities are spotless and modern and the location is ideal. Just a 15-20 min walk in to the village of Thornton le Dale which has everything you need and the classic car museum is well worth the 2 pound entrance fee !. We spent 4nights on the camp and didn't need to use the van for travel as the bus service from the village is very good. Referring to other reviews about pitch size we didn't have a problem but we only have a two berth van, and the facilities are all at the entrance to the camp so depending on what pitch you are put on there could be a bit of a walk. As I said we will hopefully go back.

We have just returned from our second visit in the last month to this site, and we have not been disappointed with anything.
The site is beautifully kept, the owners are very friendly & polite, the facilities are very good, the ladies shower block is probably one of the best I have visited.
We was given the same pitch on both visits and we are that impressed with it we will request the same one of future visits. There has been many previous reviewers saying that the pitches are not big enough. Not sure why, we had ample room for car & caravan and can only think that people are a little bit picky!
The site location is a massive plus too, 1/2 mile from the village centre, with a great fish & chips shop, supermarket, bakery & butchers.
The pubs are all good in their own way, we ate & drank in the New Inn & The Old Hall, and was very impressed with the food, beer & hospitality. We ventured in the Buck for the quiz which was also a pleasant experience.
The area is fantastic for walks and is a short drive away from Dalby Forest.
Overall we think Overbrook is a fantastic site, in a great area, and we will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

We spent a very pleasant 5 days at this site. It is a quiet, adults only site and the facilities are very clean and modern, if a bit of a walk from some of the pitches. There is pot-washing and laundry facilities which also houses the information hut.
The owners are very friendly and efficient, they had our caravan unhitched and on the pitch before you say knife! We were allocated a pitch and told the number on arrival. There is a security barrier operated by a card which permanently closed at night. The grounds are very well tended and have lovely flower beds and the pitches are fairly flat but quite small, there is a bit of grass between pitches but as you're very close to the main route round the site, it feels a bit odd to be sitting out there. There is no dog walk on the site but there is a public footpath a few yards up the road to the right, which goes through the woods and has a poo bin at the start. However, there was evidence that many people used the grass verges to the left to empty their dogs and left it there. There are no dog poo bins on the site. Having to be off by 11am on the last day was a bit of a rush. I also have to agree with Jimbouk about the wood pigeons – they are VERY noisy. One of them left a monster splat on our car, I thought a flying cow had gone over.
The walk through the woods is very pleasant and takes about 20 minutes to get to Thornton-le-Dale which is a pretty town with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes. The New Inn is dog-friendly and the food is ok and The Village Bakery has a very nice dog-friendly garden at the back with an undercover part. There are plenty of good walks to be done in the area, lots of paths through farmland and we also walked to Pickering one day through corn fields.
We loved the area and the site was very quiet and peaceful but I don't think we'll return due to the cramped feel of the pitches.

Loved this site and the lovely picturesque village. Owners were very friendly and facilities were spot on. Had a meal in The Old Hall and it was fantastic with the owner exceptionally friendly.
The only small gripe is the caravans were a bit close together. If you get a pitch to the left of the site you get a much better view from your van.
Dog walk across the road is not really adequate, you're best to walk the dog through the woods as we did. Plenty of nice walks around and motor museum in the village is definitely worth a visit.
Will definitely go again.

Just got back from a 9 day break and what a wonderful time we had, this park has a location at the edge of the village where there are three pubs all doing great beer and wonderful food.
The site is very clean and tidy and well laid out, one way system makes it easy access. The staff are very friendly and helpful nothing seems too much trouble for them.
Pickering steam train, Dalby Forest, Edam Camp and much more very close by.
I would definitely recommend this park and will go back in the near future.

Stayed here for two nights and can only echo what other people have said.
Friendly owners, very clean and warm toilets and showers, lovely setting, great little village with three pubs, cheap mini-mart and fish and chip shop. What more could you want.
Dalby Forest on your doorstep, York, Malton, Scarborough and Castle Howard etc within half our driving distance, an ideal base for exploring the area.
Seems to be quite a lot of seasonal pitches on site, but that didn't affect our stay in any way.
Our only criticism was that although there was enough room for van, awning and car on the pitch they were very close to each other giving a feeling of being on top of each other.
Ohhh and the bloody wood pigeons that woke us at 4.30 both mornings, ill remember to pack my catapult next time :)
Would definitely visit again for a couple of nights

I hope this will not make it too popular, as I want to come back!
Lovely site run by very friendly owners. Always have time to talk, give advice and help in anyway possible.
Site is at the end of a little village, Thorton le Dale. In which, are all the shops/pubs/cafes that you would need, if you could not get to anywhere else, whilst there. There is an excellent bus service to all points N/E/S/West and dog friendly.
Picturesque village with running streams everywhere. The New Inn pub has a dog friendly bar (good Sunday lunch), Baldersons cafe has dog friendly outside area serving great food, all day breakfast excellent!
You can walk to the village either by road or through a lovely wood (you do not need a car). All around are lovely walks for dogs.
16 amp hook up on all pitches (as far as I could see). Our pitch was number 2, overlooking fields with sheep in. The only noise at night my wife heard, was me snoring. Next to the entrance which has a barrier operated by security card, which is shut from midnight to 7, so we were not woken by any noisy vehicles coming back late. Drinking water readily available. We were within 30/40 yards for thetford and grey emptying points. Laundry good 2 x washing machines and 2 x driers.
Washing up facilities good. Loo/washing facilities good. Shower good but you need to make sure you arrange your clothes so they keep dry, water tight covers supplied which I did not use!
Site clean and very tidy.
We came for a week and did not use awning and were very lucky with the weather. Did not have a car and did not take motorhome off site but were able to do most things without.
We have already booked for 4 weeks June/July, that's how good it was. We will bring a car which will obviously give us greater look at a wonderful area.
My apologies if I have missed anything bad, but I can only speak as I find.

We decided to give it a go after reading the reviews.
We booked an awning pitch, and I'm glad we did. Even this 'larger' pitch was 'snug' to say the least!
The site is well sheltered by high hedges/trees, which would be a benefit in windy weather. But, it also sheltered a good part of the site from the sun. I suppose you cant have it both ways.
But, given the pitch sizes, and close proximity to the next unit (many seemed to be seasonal), being sat out with friends on a warm summers evening enjoying a beer, wasn't something I could envisage to be honest. The site is just too cramped, in our opinion.
The owners are very nice and helpful, the loo block was fine, with never any queueing.
Had a few strolls into the village, which was very nice, and short of nothing you could want. Had a cracking meal at the first pub you come to - New Inn?, which wasn't overly dear, when you compared prices with the other nearby pubs.
The site has discount 'vouchers' for a pub/eatery on the very edge of town - Old Hall? Worth a walk up, as you wouldn't expect it to be there! There's some nice walks around the village as well.
Another 'downer' was that you had to be off pitch by 11am, which is a tad early - especially on a sunday, which puts paid to any lazy lie in! You could, however, if the pitch wasn't booked out after you, pay three quid to stay later, but not sure just how long? Being allowed the extra hour to get sorted and gone, would be the way to go though. Prising another three quid is a bit mean IMO. As if the pitch is free later, its not harming anyone.
The site is well kept, quiet, and in a very good location, and many would be more than happy, and obviously return time after time.
Would we return? Because of the cramped-ness, and the lack of sun (when its out) - no, we wont be looking to return anytime soon.
