Spent 4 nights here and was very pleased with this quiet site. We were in the second area that also houses the shower/toilet block. The first & second fields are for the motorhome/caravans, a third field is for the tents & the final field can be used as tent overflow but is generally used as a dog exercise area, nice to have a large space that the dogs can be off lead. The owner has his chickens at the bottom of this field but they are in a very secure compound. The owner is a mine of information, very approachable with a thumbs up if he sees you around. The shower block has 2 showers per gender, fixed heads but fully switched on, none of this push button malarchy, spotlessly clean. There is a separate disabled facility at the entrance to the camping field. 4 miles to Caernarvon, 3 miles to Llanberis, we walked both & got the local bus back which drops you off opposite the pub mentioned in the directions which is a 5 min walk. Water point at each pitch was a nice touch, Would definitely recommend & would return again

My 14 year old son and I arrived on Thursday for the Easter weekend and booked in for three nights. We were shown where to pitch the tent which was right next to a water point which was brilliant, no carrying water across a field. We pitched our tent and decided to go out only to find that my car battery was flat, had a word with the owner who came to our rescue. The site is immaculate as are the toilet & shower blocks with plenty of hot water. There is a launderette on site which could be very useful when camping but luckily we didn't need it as our weather was fab. The freezer in the indoor pot wash area is a great idea for you to re-freeze your ice blocks. Fantastic area for exercising dogs if you have them and there were plenty of very well behaved ones on the site.
Had a lovely meal in the local pub which is just a short walk from the site and Llanrug is ideally situated to travel around many parts of North Wales. We did a round tour covering Betsw y Coed, Porthmadog & Caernarfon with plenty of places to stop of on the way.
Hope to return to Llys Derwen soon.

Amazing site, would recommend it to everybody. Clean and beautifully kept, the owners work hard to ensure we all enjoy our stay. The showers and toilets are first class, and the garden and landscaping is really picturesque. For those with dogs
Good facilities for fido or rover. Nearby village with all amenities good butchers with a little cafe. Come on caravan club members have a change, these owners deserve your custom. Our cairn terrier loved this site too.

What a good, clean, neat and tidy site. Met by the owner who was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us a tour of the site and offered a choice of pitches. The toilets were immaculate with big shower cubicles. The grass was well kept and drained well after heavy rain. Most caravan pitches have there own water point. It is conveniently situated for the mountains of Snowdonia or up to the North Wales coast. Altogether a site to savour and return too.

We received a very warm welcome from the owner, who promptly and efficiently gave us a tour of the site - pointing out not only site facilities, but features of local interest. Camping pitches are nicely spaced around the edge of a neatly cut, medium-sized field, on very gentle slopes or flat ground. The soil itself is well drained and reasonably thick, making secure pitching simple. There is plenty of space for children to play, and drinking water taps surround the site. The ablutions block is immaculately clean, and you don't have to pay extra for the showers! All in all - a thoroughly recommended site.

Absolutely Amazing Campsite. Emrys is one in a million. Well Maintained Grounds & Excellent Facilities. Great views & Excellent Value for Money. They go out of there way to ensure you have a great stay. Choice of Pitch for Caravan, Motorhome or Tent. As well as 2 Superior Static Caravans on site. Great local walks, local shops a short walk & a pub right by it. Highly Recommended. See you again next year for the 7th Annual Checkemlads Cancer Memorial Trek.

Sadly only stayed one night on our way back from Anglesey. This is a great site with a friendly owner who cant do enough for you even checking everything was okay for us when he passed. The grass is immaculate all the edges strimmed not a weed anywhere. Hope to return very soon if only to see the chickens at the bottom of the site our dog loved to sit and watch them. Only 2 showers and 2 toilets each for men and women but never saw any queues and it was schools summer holidays.

Went to Llanberis for the day but could not get on the Snowdonia railway until 5-30 so we decided to look for a campsite. We found Llys Derwen, what a gemM! Perfect spot in a beautiful location. Although close to the road it was quiet.
The owner was really helpful and informative.
Extremely well run campsite. Shower and toilet facilities spotless. Plenty of space around each campervan, caravan or tent with hook up and water tap.
We were only there for one night so did not visit local shops but there is a pub not far from the site.
We will definitely return and recommend.

Nice Site, nice short grass, site kept better than many houses I work in! Fantasic helpful owner including letting me dry me wet motorcycle gear in the boiler room, hot FREE showers in warm room, my weekend only spoiled by the family next door who had a family singsong each night at about 10. 30-11. 00 just as id got to sleep!
If I visit this area again I wont even look at other sites I'll just book here and I've not said that too often, enough said

Stumbled across this place from a local in the nearby village who recommended it. Fantastic site pristine condition and hot, free showers. Laundry facilities and good space to play ball.
The owner obviously cares for the site and lives on a house closeby, very interesting and helpful guy with a lot of knowledge about the local area. A pub 3 minutes away by foot which serve amazing chicken wings and ribs.
Great site great guy great facilities and great views of the mountains
