Great site, family run very friendly. Extra clean facilities. Close to Llanberis and Mount Snowdon and its railway also close to Caernarvon and its castle. Not so easy to find on 4086 no signs to indicate turn, when you see the pub you have passed it - then you are in either Llanberis or Caernarvon, With a caravan there is nowhere to turn around. No facilities/play area for children otherwise a convenient location.

Fantastic site. Quiet, welcoming, peaceful and immaculately kept. Plenty of space per pitch. Showers are free and the cleanest and warmest of any site we have visited. Disabled facilities available. Indoor and outdoor dishwashing facilities, and again always clean and plenty of hot water. There are three fields for caravans and tents and an additional field for children to play or for walking dogs etc. The site manager is extremely friendly and helpful. The site is perfectly situated for the attractions of Snowdonia. I would highly recommend this site and will definitely be staying there again.

Just had 2 night stay for the final May bank holiday and what a lovely trip it was.

We where greeted by the very friendly owner, who showed us where everything we needed was and even gave us ideas for things to do in the local area.

We camped in a tent on the non-hookup part of the site. Very good grass, almost like a bowling green. Very easy to pitch up on and flat. Lots of room for BBQ or a stove (raised off the ground).

There's a large field for the dogs, and kids to play about in too.

The shower block was extremely clean and tidy.

Only issue, could be that there's only 2 showers in the mens and 2 in the womens. So could be a wait or queue at peak times. I never had this problem though.

Location wise, its away from the main roads, so at night hardly if any traffic noise.

Only noise we had really, was a little bird singing away in the tree over out tent.

There's a bakery over the road that was open on the Saturday (but closed Sunday and Bank holiday Monday)

There is also a very nice pub, just a few minutes walk around the corner. Its advisable you book a table at the pub though if you want food. As every table but one was reserved when we arrived at 6pm (Lucky!)

A couple of shops and a post office, on the main road, about 5 mins drive away maximum.

All in all, this is a gem of a site.

I'll certainly be using it again, as my main site for the area.

Stayed here over the Aug Bank Holiday weekend. Great campsite for us. Flat site and reasonably sheltered despite torrential downpour on our first night and howling gale on our last night! Pitches are numbered and allocated so there's no arguments about where to put your tent, or having someone pitching with intertwining guy ropes!

Toilet block is spotless, although there are only two toilet cubicles and two showers (same in the gents apparently) so might be a problem sometimes. Didn't bother us. Just had a strip wash instead! Showers are free; don't need keys to use the toilet block, and lovely hot water. Inside and outdoor washing up areas. Washing machine, freezer, but no fridge, Disabled facilities.

Warden is great. Very friendly, ready for a natter, and seems to be around whenever you might need assistance.

Pub about 5 minutes walk down the road. Geared up for food but does have real ale too (Greene King but no Brains!) We didn't eat there and we thought the prices a bit steep for us but it's very pleasant for a drink or three at the end of the day.

Easy access to the campsite off the road; no tricky corners for large vehicles, and easy to get to all major North Wales visitor attractions.

A perfect campsite in our terms and we'll definitely return if we're in that area again.

What a fantastic site, we booked in for 5 days and ended up staying 10, site owner was very friendly, and helpful without being in your face. The site is immaculate and well kept. Each pitch has a water tap and electric hookup.

The pitch was almost level with plenty of room for our awning. The washrooms were immaculate, spotlessly clean, with large shower cubicles, washbasins and toilets plus hairdryers and shaver points. We normally stay on caravan club sites because of their standards but this site can give them a run for their money, I will most certainly return soon

One of the best sites in the UK. We have never been on better.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner who then offered us a choice of pitches and then helped to site the caravan.

Each pitch has a water tap and electric hookup.

The pitch was almost level with plenty of room for our awning. The washrooms were immaculate, spotlessly clean, with large shower cubicles, washbasins and toilets plus hairdryers and shaver points.

Next to the washroom was the Chemical disposal and waste water disposal.

Although we did not use them there was a washing up area and laundry at the front. Disabled facilities were available in another block by the camping field.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, he even delivered daily papers to our caravan. He goes out of his way to ensure you have a good holiday.

The site is well located for Snowdonia trips, boasts a bakery across the road and it superbly maintained. It was pleasantly quiet.

The reception area has comfortable seating and is a mine of information about the area. The owner will help you plan your outings.

I would recommend this site to anyone, without reservation.

We have just came back from Llys Derwen after a weeks holiday there. The site owners are very friendly and welcoming.

The site itself is well maintained and the facilities are of a good standard, especially now the shower/toilet blocks have been refurbished to a higher standard.

There is a bakery near by and a pub within walking distance which serve excellent homemade meals.

The site is situated near Llanberis, Caernarfon, Bangor, local beaches etc. It is also pet friendly.

I would certainly recommend this site.

As a family we have been going to this site for many years now, and as always it has been a welcoming and clean site.

The facilities on this site are well maintained, the shower/toilet blocks are to a high standard with access of a disabled block(toilet and shower).

A local bakery is within walking distance of the site, as well as a local pub with good quality meals to offer. This site is well situated for the attractions Llanberis has to offer.

Overall Llys Derwen is a great place for a holiday and dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this site to people wanting a lovely break away.

We have just come back from Llys Derwen after a 4 night stay. The facilities are good which include free showers and clean.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and if your stuck you can get eggs. Bacon, sausages and burgers at a reasonable price. There is also cctv camera for security.

We don't drive therefore we rely on buses to get around, only a short walk away to a bus stop which will take you to Caernarfon, Bangor, LLanberis and beyond.

We had a 5 man tent, our friend drove us there so we had a hook up.

There is also a pub down the road with very good food and a local chippy with great chips and a bakery across the road with good pasties.

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the owners. We were shown to our pitch which was set in a beautiful location. All facilities were close to hand (amazing warm showers) and for the site itself, well all I can say it was immaculate and the pitch site was like a putting green. Great bakers right next door to the site. Try the sausage rolls and eccles cakes are to die for. Local town full of thing to do for the children and plenty of nice places to eat. Thankyou for a wonderful stay and we will see you next August.
