Right from the booking stage it was great, I received email replies quickly and helpful beyond normal expectations, on arrival we received a warm welcome, the site is very well looked after and the facilities were very clean, they have a catering van which they open up at weekends for breakfast, an excellent idea! Would highly recommend this campsite!

What a very good site with a very friendly host.

Emrys our host greeted us when we arrived, he was very helpful and friendly. He supplied our morning paper for us at no extra charge and was very knowledgeable about the area.

The site itself was very clean and tidy and there was a great pub and bakery near the site.

We would definitely go again.

This was our first visit to the site which exceeded our expectations. The pitches were spacious, well placed and organised. The toilets were small but kept clean at all times. Our two young grandchildren enjoyed the space to play with their new friends.

The owner Emerys was very helpful and provided a personal service.

The location of this site is ideal as a base for visiting the many wonderful sights and attractions throughout North Wales.

I thought this site a little gem run by the well informed owner. The pitches are of different slopes so you definitely require blocks, the majority have electric hook ups and there are plenty of water points. The shower block was lovely and clean with plenty of hot water and quite large cubicles so plenty of room. The owner keeps the grass well cut which helps with the easy movement of the unit. There is a large dog walking field that allows the dogs to run free as it is well enclosed and safe. Free range eggs are available, laid by the owners hens, which go very well with a loaf of fresh bread from the bakery across the road. A short walk down the road is a pub serving very good mid priced meals. We would visit again when in the area.

Excellent small, quiet site with friendly welcome. Well maintained with warm, very clean washrooms and hot showers. Dog friendly with large, safe exercise field.

Full credit to the owners and will definitely return.

This turned out to be a pleasant site, even if some aspects weren’t quite as the AA Book describes them. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and supplies eggs, daily newspapers, etc. On request. Pitches with hook-ups vary in size, shape and slope (levelling devices are recommended) and this gives an informal feel to the site. Pitch sizes were just adequate.

Toilets, washrooms/showers and washing-up areas were clean and reasonably equipped. There’s a pub with food a few hundred yards away and the corner-shop in the village stocks most of life’s essentials. The site is well located for trips into Snowdonia, the coastal towns and Anglesey.

For dog-owners the site has the benefit of a large well-fenced field for off-lead exercise (a second field was also available out-of-season when we were there).

Not much more we can add to the previous reviews left by others.

We pulled in on the off chance of finding a pitch for the night and so glad we did, what a gem of a place it is, as said, all the reviews previous say it all really.

Only one little (very little) niggle for us was the lack of internet access, as we were on an unplanned tour of north Wales, it would have been helpful to have internet to plan our next move be it paid or unpaid access would have been lovely.

Having said that, our one night stay ended up being two nights as it was so enjoyable staying there

We have just had a week here on two adjacent pitches with my sister in law and husband in our Eriba Caravans

Everything is as most other reviews have said ie. Clinically clean spotless facilities excellent dog exercise field. The bakery opposite is brilliant such lovely pasties etc etc. Emrys was the nicest and friendliest owner you could ever meet nothing was to much trouble and he was there for any queries or help all of the time. He was an absolute mind of information re what to do and where to go. The site is really good and very carefully laid out to get the best out of it but above all that, his personality is the icing on the cake in our opinion.

The location is perfect to enjoy Llanberis and all the North Wales and Snowdon area.

We will go back again.

Over from Canada and we had an excellent week at Llys Derwen. We had four families staying all on plots together. Very friendly, very clean, quite but free enough for the children to play. Beautiful site and views and nice pub down the road.

Our very first impression of this site was how very friendly the owner was. We stayed on this site for two nights as we wanted to visit Snowden. The site was very well kept, clean, tidy and well laid out. The toilets were very clean and there was even a radiator on which made it nice and warm when getting out of the shower. There was a lovely pub within walking distance where the food was excellent. This site was only a 5 minute drive from Snowden and the railways. The owner also suggested we visit the slate museum which was free entry and was very interesting. The sunset was something not to be missed. We felt that the location justified the nightly rate and liked the personal touches such as eggs and newspapers you could get from the owner. The only thing missing was a play area for children.
