Excellent small, quiet campsite, really well run, clean, tidy. Toilets and showers were heated, immaculate and had loads of hot water. Emrys the owner couldn't have been more helpful. He found info on fishing for us and nothing was too much trouble.
We took 4 dogs with us and there was a huge enclosed field to let them run round in.
Pub just down the road does excellent food and apparently there is a bakery just across the road but we didn't go there.
Great location very close to the areas we wanted to visit. Will definitely return.

Our family had a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday in north Wales at Llys Derwen camping and caravan site. A warm welcome after a long trip from Emrys who was very helpful. We stayed in the Snowdon caravan which was very clean and comfortable fully equipped with everything we needed. A perfect base to explore our first visit to north Wales and we are looking forward to going back.

We recently spent a week at this little gem of a campsite. The pitches were fabulous with plenty of room and immaculate. The site owner worked tirelessly to keep the site clean and tidy at all times and was always around to help if there was anything we needed. The toilet and showers were always clean and there was always hot water whenever needed day or night.
I paid for 3 pitches as all my family (Mum, Dad and my sister and her family) and we were accommodated next to each other. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Climbing Snowdon and visiting Caernarfon, betws y coed and particularly Llanberis and Vivienne Quarry
We will be back ASAP. A perfect holiday.

Exceptional friendly reception, and ample information on local and regional attractions. We splashed out on train trip up Snowdon, having reached Llanberis on local bus. Enjoyed engrossing day out at Penrhyn Castle, no problem parking up with motorhome there nor when we went further afield to see the ospreys at Glaslyn. Treated ourselves to an evening meal at the Glyntwrog pub a short and worthwhile stroll down from the site.
Owner deservedly proud of the site and condition of its amenities.

“Lovely quaint camp site. Perfect location. Will definitely stay again! 5*”
We booked to stay at Llys Derwen camp site in Llanrug at short notice for a quick family getaway with our 10 & 11 year old. The perfect location for climbing Snowdon & close to Llanberis, & lovely local beaches.
From start to finish we were really pleased with our choice!
Emrys the owner met us on arrival & let us pick our own pitch with electric hook up for our tent. Throughout our stay Emrys could not have been more friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble & he even helped us plan our climbs & attraction visits which suited our family & children's ages. The kids loved Emrys (& the chickens).
Albeit quaint & picturesque, the site has 2 hook up fields, & another large non electric field (with an overflow field near the chicken pen where the kids could play safely).
The facilities are the best we've ever experienced. Very modern & always clean with a fab shower.
The local Bakery & pub are a bonus too!
All in all, amazing unspoilt campsite, beautiful surroundings & 5 star Host!
Many thanks, we'll be back! Xxx

This site is very well located for the coastal attractions as well as the mountains. There is a pub within walking distance with decent food, but not cordon bleu.
Facilities on site are sound and clean, and the warden was very helpful.
Castle visitors might like to consider membership of English Heritage, because in addition to the English sites, you qualify for CADW entry, which I think includes Caernarvon, Criccieth & Beaumaris. Plas Newydd is NT.
If on a budget, you may need to be aware of the cafe prices in some of the prime locations (e. G. Port Merion, although it is a must-visit, especially for some of a certain age). Others are very good value!

Lovely owner, let us come a day early. Nice spacious pitch with own water supply. Toilet and shower block were very clean, (no push buttons in shower) but could do with more showers(only 2) did have to wait a couple of times. And there's only 1 washing up sink which is nowhere near enough.
The location is great for Snowdon, National Trust places, Castles, mines etc. So much to do. Port Meirion is amazing.
The pub up the road did good food, but not a lot of choice.
The site didn't seem to have a quiet time and on our last night had to listen to some drunken woman who liked the sound of her own voice(till gone midnight!) would have complained if not going home the next day.
All in all a nice site and a beautiful part of Wales to visit.

Great location, clean, very personal and friendly, helpful welcome and owners. I will go back! It is in a great location for Caernarfon or Snowdon and Llanberis. There is plenty of room between pitches and very organised but relaxed. Lots of hot water for showers and water next to the pitch. There is a great bakery opposite and fresh eggs available too! The owner Emrys is genuine and just a great person who likes people and doing a good job!

Stayed here for a weekend to climb Snowdon and explore with friends0 between us we had a tent, caravan and camper van. We will all definitely visit again. Emrys was extremely helpful and accommodating. The campsite is extremely well presented, well located and child friendly and our children had enormous fun. The facilities are extremely well kept and clean. Grass was nice and short and all mowings were collected so no piles of wet grass being trod repeatedly into tent! Thank you Emrys for a lovely weekend.

We spent five nights here, outside of the school holidays so it wasn't busy and we had lots of space. Very clean, very pretty site, well maintained. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and we felt we could ask if we had any problems (which we didn't). The facilities met our needs exactly, toilets and showers were always clean and tidy, lots of hot water, and never had to queue.
The weather was a little disappointing during our time there but the site is ideally situated and there is plenty of indoor (and outdoor) activities nearby.
We would recommend the site.
