A beautiful campsite stunning views and good facilities. Ideal for a short break. Good toilet and shower block and fridge freezer available for campers to use.
There is a short easy walk into town, however do bear in mind that at busy times all tables in pubs and restaurants have reserved signs! as we found to our cost. Its worth booking for a Fri or Sat night.
Had a really good Sunday lunch at The Boars Head. The site can be windy but it was worth it for the views. And there are sheltered areas if you wish to use them.

Spent three nights here and found it to be a most pleasant stay. The site covers a number of fields with stunning views and loads of space.
It is exceptional value for money especially if you have children under 13. The welcome was friendly and very helpful and they do not rush you out of there.
The toilets and showers are well maintained. There is a freezer and fridge available to use free of charge
It is a very short walk into Bishop's castle. Bishop's castle is a very pretty little town with six pubs all offering something a little different.
All in all a perfect short break location or stop off to other destination.

Lovely stay here in July for one night. Owners friendly and helpful, the pitches were surprisingly level for such a hilly town as Bishops Castle (we were in a small tent so you really notice slopes).
Great location - 10 mins walk to Bishops Castle which has great pubs including the Three Tuns and Six Bells (microbreweries) and a lively but friendly evening scene - also a chippy, an Indian and another restaurant.
Facilities were clean and pleasant - no long queues. A previous reviewer has commented that the washing up area is uncovered - it is now covered.
The site is really quiet at night - no road noise at all just birdsong.

A fabulous campsite with wonderful views. Facilities were very clean and a really good standard. Being able to have a campfire in one of the braziers for hire was a complete bonus and added to the lovely atmosphere of this site. Lots of space for children to play and wander.
Very helpful and conscientious owners. Good facilities to recycle.
Bishops castle is a lovely stroll away with some nice pubs and shops. Had a meal in the six bells which was not very good.
I ordered the chicken which was a dry grilled chicken breast covered in what tasted like philadelphia cheese! The actual pub and owners were very nice but I wouldn't recommend a meal there at all.
Definitely a site that we will visit again ASAP!

We came to Foxholes for the second time, the site is great, fantastic scenery and plenty of space. Being responsible owners of two young dogs and getting them used to camping Foxholes is lovely.
The town of Bishops Castle has everything you need great pub and brewery which will sell a flagon for offsite drinking back at your tent and Indian and fish n chips on the square.
The lushness of the countryside and the beautiful walks on the tent step make this green friendly site a must for anyone wanting a relaxing time away.

Just returned from this campsite following a very enjoyable 3 days.
Good Points:
* The views are absolutely stunning! The owners website does not do their photo's justice which is a shame. We were at the very top of the furthest field and the surround views are amazing. So nice to just sit and relax, glass of wine in hand, looking out at a perfect view after a long days walking.
* The owners are pleasant and helpful.
* There's loads of room to camp and you don't get that 'boxed in' feeling. Most people were considerate in the placement of their tents.
* You can have camp fires. For £3, the owners supply you with an old washing machine drum on legs. Sounds odd but it works extremely well.
* Given the number of people traipsing in and out of the toilets and showers, they are kept clean.
* There's an information room with a fridge and a freezer in there for the use of the campers. You can re-freeze your icepacks for free.
* It's a reasonable price. Just £6 per night, per adult, no matter how big or small your tent. Children under 13 are £2 per night.
* Good recycling facilities.
* The site is well sign posted and easy to find.
* It's close to Offa's Dyke and The Shropshire Way and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Bad Points:
* Washing up area is outside in the open. It would benefit from having a shelter over it in inclement weather. There are only 2 sinks which sometimes meant queuing to wash up! There are no taps on the sinks which does seem strange. Water has to be fetched from the washing up sink located in the shower block. Not quite sure about the logic in that. There is a 2nd washing up area, with taps, in the information room but it's small and frequently gets crowded.
All things taken into consideration, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again. I imagine it could be a pretty windy site but it depends where you are pitched. There are areas that would be fairly sheltered from strong winds.
A comment placed on here earlier moaned about there being bits of food in the washing up sinks. I blame other campers for this and not the owners. If people were a little more considerate of others and cleaned up after themselves then the problem wouldn't exist. It's a large site and you can't expect the owners to hover over everyone and clean up after every little spillage. Although the sinks have plugs, they're the large belfast sinks and take some filling so it's worth taking your own bowl with you, that way you can just fill up and put it inside the sink.

Just returned from a 3 day break and all the reviews we had read were spot on. Lovely clean site with great views. We pitched in the larger field as it offered better views and to say it was windy would be an understatement. The wind didn't let up from the moment we arrived until we left. Apparently this was normal and to be expected, so if you like the wind, this is the site for you.
Downside apart from the wind was no drying facilities in the ladies or gents toilets. Could do with a paper towel dispenser or hand dryer.

A super campsite with fantastic panoramic views of the Shropshire Countryside. A few minutes drive (or walk) from Bishop's Castle where you will find excellent pubs and Indian restaurant/fish and chips along with other small town shops.
Easy access to The Shropshire Way, Offa's Dyke and The Shropshire Hills.
Separate large fields for Tents, caravans and motorhomes. We stayed there in a large tent and were able to pick our own pitch. One word of caution - some of the site is sloping and prone to be a tad windy as it is in the open but there are plenty of flat and sheltered spots. Also at the weekends make sure to arrive early as it can get a bit busy.
Showers and toilets very clean but again can be a bit busy.
Owners very friendly as long as you keep within the campsite rules - recycling is compulsory (as indeed it should be!)
A very big plus - Campfires are allowed as long as they are off the ground - For £3 a fire pit (O.K it's actually a washing machine drum with legs) can be hired and this is ideal.
I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone.

The site at £6 per person per night was good value. Toilets and showers were clean. God dogs were allowed but naughty owners left doggy poohs on footpaths.
Path to town needs a torch at night. A map of town for campers would be nice, we made our own. Owners were nice.
Biggest failing were washing up facilities: belfast sink decking with drainage but no water supply. Why? sinks were full of food waste and decking surround was soiled with earth.
We had to fill bowels in toilet block with hot washing water but the sinks and surfaces in open air were dirty and not easy to clean since hot water in bowels was for washing crocks.
Was glad weather was dry, must be awful in the rain. Let the site facilities down.

The site has several fields, we stayed in the tent field at the top of the hill which is spacious, quiet and has marvellous views all around of the Shropshire Hills.
You can go for several good walks directly from your tent. The 10-minute walk into the village is easy, and along a path all the way (no need to dodge traffic on a road). The shower block is clean and the water hot enough. There are extra drinking water taps around the site.
There is a dishwashing area of limited size, but also an extra tap for hot water to fill your washing up bowl. There is a fridge and freezer available for everyone's use.
The village has several pubs, two of which make their own beer, which is excellent in both cases. But if you want to eat out on Saturday night, it's necessary to book as we found to our cost.
A highly recommendable camp site.
