Fantastic views! Friendly owners, friendly owners dog (Jenga). Good facilities include showers, kitchen area with fridge / freezer etc. Short downhill walk into Bishops Castle. Nice big field for tents. This is a fairly new venture but is very good and will get better.

We've just come back from camping for a long weekend at Fox Holes. We hadn't intended to go to Shropshire, but all other sites were full in Derbyshire, Somerset, Wales etc. How glad I am that we found this site. The views from the top camping field are stunning. You could sit there for hours and still not take it all in. There is almost a 360 degree panoramic view. We watched the paragliders coming down from the Mynds. There are also birds to look out for - Kestrels etc. We took a hike up to Stiper Stones, only a few miles drive away, and the views there were stunning too. As usual, the fellow campers were friendly and helpful. The owners of the site are a delight. She is open and honest, very friendly, very helpful. Wendy will bring her dogs up to the field for a walk and often stop for a chat. Genka (??) her dog, is lovely and friendly and will sit patiently while breakfast is being cooked, in the hope of a bit of sausage or bacon. I suppose some might complain about there only being one shower for men, women and people with disabilities, but the lovely relaxed atmosphere more than makes up for that. There are also recycling bins, so that was another thumbs up. The pubs in the town are superb, with a mixture of locals and holidaymakers, but we were made to feel welcome wherever we went, the people of Bishops Castle are lovely and friendly. Hubby tells me that the locally produced beers at most of the pubs are superb.

Views from this campsite absolutely fantastic, Bishops castle has a good variety of shops and pubs some brew their own beers all sell real ales.
Campsite owners friendly. site badly let down by toilets and showers no toilet roll in toilets, toilet seat fallen off for both days of our stay, shower water pressure not enough to run the three available showers. If another shower is switched on yours runs out of water. Although this site is in its early days and may improve in time.

The weather was hot and sunny. We pitched our tent in the centre of the top field to maximise the fabulous views of the surrounding farmland. There were birds for company and delightful wild flowers to look at. Saturday afternoon we could hear a cricket match being played out of sight. A 10 minute walk through the barley field took us to Bishops Castle. We enjoyed an ice-cream from the deli, a look around the museum 'the house on crutches' and a pint at The Six Bells. We joined the town tour with 4 other couples and a local guide which was interesting. We would not have found the 'castle' without her help. We had a delicious meal at The Poppy.
The new facilities are good. We particularly liked the showers and the kitchen facilities. There may be queues at the height of summer but if you are as chilled and relaxed as we were, it gives more opportunity to take in the views. The recycling area is good too. Good luck to the owners in their new venture. They are friendly and eager to please.
We shall be back.

We found this campsite by chance and gave it a go and I'm very glad we did as it will be a regular haunt for us. The site was very beautiful and extremely kiddie friendly. There was not a play ground but they didn't need it due to the amount of space on the tent field and a field just off with long grass, which was brilliant for the dog. The couple were extremely nice and helpful and enjoyed the children's company and the facilities were spotless. You had a toilet shower and sink all in one, which was very useful for me to shower all 4 children at the same time which was all FREE. They have 1 washing up area but it was all enclosed and included the use of the freezer and the fridge for FREE and was also kept immaculate. It was close to the town of Bishops Castle which included some nice shops but most importantly a very reasonably priced co-op. All in all I would recommend this site to people who like a nice peaceful and beautiful site, totally different to those commercial ones.

This is a great site with fantastic views of the Shropshire countryside. Only a few minutes walk into the lovely village of Bishops Castle which has everything you need, pubs, eateries, and shops.
The owners of the site seemed friendly. There were separate fields for the tents and caravans. We were on the tent field which was very spacious but some bits were slightly sloping. There are three wet rooms (toilet, sink & shower in one) a female / male and disabled, which are very clean but there could be a queue at busier times. There are also some portaloos on the fields. There is a small kitchen to do your washing up in with a freezer and local information. All in all a lovely site, a great base for visiting surrounding areas or just for a relaxing peaceful weekend, will definitely return.

This was our first taste of camping and it was an enjoyable experience all round - despite the weather. The site was also brand new and opened the day we arrived. We were welcomed by some very nervous owners who were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the weekend. Being new, the facilities - seperate shower / wet rooms for men / ladies and the disabled were sparkling clean - and kept clean all weekend - along with a washing up area with fridge and freezer. The camping field is large and fairly flat with different areas for groups families and couples - two portaloos are at the end of the field and again kept very clean. Bishops Castle is a 10/15 minute walk along the Shropshire Way and boasts two breweries and five pubs all serving real ale - we ate at two - the Six Bells and the Three Tuns and were well fed at both- and two museums but these have very limited opening times. You are ideally placed to visit Ludlow and Shrewsbury which are a 20/30 minute drive away.
