Spent the bank holiday weekend at Wowo and had a great time. Being allowed the campfire really makes the difference and without this it would just be a field with some not very nice toilets / showers. If more toilets and showers could be provided it would be excellent. The owner was very friendly and made a point of coming round one evening to say hi which was nice considering how busy it was. I would go back but would be more inclined to recommend it if they improve the toilets / shower situation!

It was our first experience of camping, and we couldn't have picked a better place as everything was perfect. It was really peaceful and had a definite family feel to it, as everything felt so safe. The tree swings were wonderful for the children, and the campfires were a real added bonus, especially as the nights got very dark very quickly!
The owners were very relaxed, friendly and extremely helpful. They really have done a wonderful job at running the campsite.
We had experience of both the showers and the toilets and they were fine.
As well as being close to the Bluebell Railway (hearing the 'woo, woo' of the train got the children very excited!), there's also a lovely walk to the village of Fletching.
We went with 4 adults and 4 children, and will definitely be returning very soon.
We left with memories of toasting marshmallows around a campfire, starry nights and 4 very happy children.

After a little persuasion to my nephews mum she agreed to come camping for 2 nights (this was soon extended to 5) her or my nephews had never been and she was dubious to say the least. It was wasted as we had a lovely time. It was wet but you cant control that. The fields drainage was good so that was never a problem. The fire was hot, the staff were friendly, the boys made new friends, we drank wine and cooked on a fire(think we had more fun then they did to be honest).
Also after looking at what other sites charge for visitors, cars and motorbikes I dont see how anyone can knock the price.
Now weve bought the kit it will be an inexpensive weekend activity that we can enjoy over and over again.
We will definitely be back!

Picked this site as it is close to the Bluebell railway and they allow camp fires. It ticked those 2 boxes but don't go there expecting much else.
There is plenty of space and it is a very popular site - 3 large fields - 2 of which were pretty full. I thought it was a bit expensive for what you get, insufficient and poorly maintained toilets & showers (although hosed out daily). With the large numbers of campers going and minimum involvement policy they seem to have it would be nice if the owners re-invested some profit in the facilities and re-furb the ablutions at least. They were the worst I've been to in a very long time!
The eco-friendly thing seems a bit of a cover to save money - plenty of other sites provide recycling bins where you can separate all your waste out. We overheard a couple of people saying they would just put it in the nearest bin outside the site (doubtful if they would be separated out and recycled). Logs were bought round at irregular intervals between 5 and 10pm but the quad bike they used to tow the truck round was noisy and probably not too eco friendly. We bought our logs at the local garage and paid half the price.
That said we had a good weekend despite the bad weather on Saturday but would not return as there are plenty of places doing this kind of thing better. I'd only recommend this place to those wanting an 'earthy experience'.

Having just returned to camping after a long period, we were more than happy to read about this site which was only some 20 miles from home.
It was such a delightful place with friendly people and the icing on the cake was the camp fires. Looking across the campfield at night, seeing the campfires, sitting with a drink and enjoying the night was the best part. Guitars being plays and people singing, magic. Even if it did rain.
The only let down were the facilities, and with more than 75 tents and camping vans on the site, the facilities were swamped. This site has a great deal of potential and I for one, despite the swamped, facilities would visit again.

A lovely campsite which is totally relaxing and quiet. Only stayed two nights and we are novices to the 'camping' world! Wonderful walk to the Sloop Inn which does nice food and wines and on walking back saw a family of deer in the woods, wonderful. Money collected in the evening and logs dropped off which was great. Adds a real special ambience with lots of little fires burning. Only down side were the toilets and showers, though this has been clearly commented by other reviews. I will definitely return and hopefully there will be shiny new 5star toilets and showers soon.
Highly recommend going here, especially if in need of peace.

We stayed here for a weekend in July, and had a wonderful time. The owner, Paul, is friendly and relaxed, the whole campsite has a relaxed and friendly feel, with spontaneous games of cricket and frisbee taking place almost constantly. Our kids loved wandering off to play and it felt very safe. Also very good value for money, and I love that you don't have to book! We will definitely return.

Just about the most laid back and relaxed campsite I've visited. Spent just two full days there but got a weeks worth of chilling out done. Number of showers could be improved and the toilet block is a bit remote from some corners. The 8-9am shower queues were made tolerable only by the friendliness of other campers. The main bonus, though, is the relaxed approach of the owners, along with the campfire facility - an all too rare occurence in modern camping. Such a contrast from the club site I recently stayed at where my continental built camper was made feel most unwelcome because its door was on a different side. There are better equipped campsites that could learn a lot from these owners, about customer service and environmental friendliness.
If you want to walk to the pub make sure you get directions from the owners. We were pointed in the wrong direction by another guest and spent half the day thirstily exploring the surrounding fields. The nearby steam railway is also a must visit.
This is definitely a site I shall return to with friends and heartily recommend it to all who seek rest and relaxation in their camping, both for themselves and their families.

How wonderful!
A festival family feel without the loud music. We stayed with family of 2 adults 1 child and toddler and it was great. The children loved the brook stomping in the mud. I felt the whole site was safe for my 6 yr old to play. The facilities were not brill but adequate and cleaned on Sunday morning. Lots of space with no stress. They collected money in eve and bought wood for a fire. What joy.

This site was ok but not nearly as friendly and personal as stated in the write up. We stayed a week and never laid eyes on the elusive Paul. Friday night music never really happened save at our camp fire and the showers had nowhere to hang clothes or towels to keep them dry and were frankly quite filthy. Not many loos for the number of guests and one was out of order the whole time we were there. They make you take your rubbish home and when I phoned to enquire about availability I was told that if we stayed longer than a weekend we could use their bins but when it came down to asking where they were I was told I couldn't as they were overflowing and that I should drive to the dump. Not really the way I wanted to spend a precious day of holiday and anyway, it was hot and humid causing the rubbish to stink and the large wasps nest in the field, which apparently the owners had said they would deal with as all the children were getting stung, was not dealt with and the bags were full of wasps so really not satisfactory. We took a look in the yurt which was really quite pricey and it was rather grotty and extremely damp. Glad we hadn't been tempted to book that. Being able to have campfires is a bonus but £5 for a night's worth of wood also seemed steep. All in all we would be unlikely to return to this site.
