What can I say, if you want a true fun, friendly, safe and colourful camping experience then this is the place. We have been coming here for a few years now and there is a reason we keep coming back, it just works for us!
There are great open spaces for the kids to roam, explore and do what kids do best, use their imagination. We bought walkie talkies for them, to get them back for meal times, what freedom. Staff are ace, always friendly and sociable in the evenings. Take field games, masses of space and complete strangers will join in on the fun, great place to make friends. We have introduced many of our friends to this great place over the years and they adored it too for its simplicity and appeal.
Beautiful surroundings with the great sound of steam trains to make you look up and think about where you are.

I was looking forward to my visit to Wowo, the weather was not great but it didn't matter I was looking forward to a more rural site.
On the whole, there is a lot of great potential at Wowo.
I was met by a lovely friendly chap who was helpful and gave a good first impression. Having read the 'rules of the site' ahead of my visit, I thought it sounded fine and understood the environmental approach. I do however have a minor gripe with the need to take your own rubbish away.
I pitched by a stream in Lower Brook and had the vast field to myself, I opted here so I could listen to the brook. This was however hampered by the constant industrial machinery that was a tad annoying, not to mention the need to start mowing both evenings from about 5 until 8.
I loved the idea of the place and it was at its best most peaceful about seven in the morning, when the rabbits were out, the birds were in full force and it was lovely. Again, thinking the place has so much potential.
The washing facilities were fine for me, but noting there were few 'campers', I'm not sure how they would stand up at a busier time. There are also the compost toilets of course for additional resource but they're not everyones cup of tea.
I found the static caravans a complete eyesore and not fitting in with the desired feel of the place.
The location is fab and the distant tooting of the Bluebell Railway was adorable.
I was left feeling a little disappointed but maybe this would have been less noted if it had been lovely and sunny.

We have just returned from our first ever trip to this site, with a group of friends. We have had a fantastic weekend, the children are able to roam freely around the site and through the beautiful woodland. To be able to have a camp fire is fantastic and what camping is all about.
I do, however, feel a little aggrieved, having paid £25 a night for two adults and a child, the facilities are hopeless! The eco loos are definitely not my cup of tea, not the first site we have been to that has them, but still cannot get used to them. The other toilets and showers are poor, not enough and in poor repair. Considering the fees other sites charging a lot less have far better facilities.
The site has hung up the 'eco friendly' sign which appears to me to be a great way to get out of entering the 21st century and supplying hygienic washing areas. And no recycling or rubbish bins.

This was our first camping trip of 2010. I had tried to book into WOWO previously but it has always been full on sunny summer weekends. However, midweek in April, the site had lots of room and we chose a super spot near a small stream.
There are three camping fields and a small wooded area with premium pitches. The site has 4 super looking yurts that can be rented. There is also a field where dogs can run off the lead (great).
The site is very natural and there are lots of places for kids to scramble and loads of tree ropes / swings. Each pitch has a rough and ready fire pit and being able to light a fire is a real selling point. £5 of logs kept us going from 5pm - 10pm; they will deliver to your tent on request. You are not allowed to collect fallen wood from the site.
I thought the site a little on the expensive side. We were 1 x adult (£10), 1 x 12 year old (£5) and 1 dog (£4.50!). This meant £24.50 with the logs. However, I was happy to pay this for one night to experience the 'wowo package'. I am not so sure I would have been happy to pay nearly £40 if husband and child #2 had come too.
The site is very peaceful; the only noise was the occasional whistle and hiss from the nearby steam railway. The nearest station is within walking distance from the site; another good reason to visit. If you can't afford a train trip, buy a platform ticket and watch the trains, visit the engine shed and use the cafe.
The site facilities are good. There is loads of hot water (including for washing up) and the small shower / toilet block is supplemented by a couple of mobile units that were very clean. I wasn't sure how the facilities would bear up when the site is full. A curious feature of the site is 20 or so large mobile homes sited near the manor house. These were 'private' and seemed to be occupied by friendly, youngish East Europeans (maybe farm workers?) who also seemed to be using the showers etc.
There is a large rambling barn with a table tennis table and tables / chairs. There are also fridges and freezers that campers can use. The barn is fairly rough and ready but might provide a dry place to sit in inclement weather.
Finally, I should mention that there are some great farm shops near the site and Hayward's Heath has an excellent range of restaurants and high street stores.

Stayed here for a weekend in mid September with my husband and (then) one year old daughter.
Campsite was in a good location, very rural but with plenty to see and do locally.
What attracted us to this site was the idea of having an open fire. It was organised really well, with dug out fire pits, so that people weren't just lighting fires all over the place. Making for a good, safe open fire.
As with all of these reviews I do feel that they need to invest in the toilet/shower block. The facilities they had just didn't seem adequate for the numbers of people.
But the campsite itself is lovely. Friendly, well organised and in a beautiful setting. Will go back despite the facilities, but not sure I could convince many friends to come with me.

Four of us went to this campsite, my girlfriend and I, and 2 of our friends. When I phoned up to book the campsite, they did check our ages to make sure we weren't going to be a rowdy bunch (which we are far from it) so this was already good start as we were looking for a nice peaceful weekend away from it.Which is exactly what we got.
We arrived just before check in time and were greeted by a friendly, yet noisy dog and then one of the workers on the campsite, who again was very friendly and informative.
A really amazing campsite with plenty of pitches. We stayed on the Tipi Trail - a wooded area which gives you your own little space and a private fire pit. That really is the main attraction of this campsite that you are encouraged to have a fire.
You can park just outside the wooded area, and choose your own pitch. There are four portaloos which are very clean nearby. Outside of them there is alcohol gel to clean your hands with which is a really nice touch, especially when you've been handling raw meat for the bbq. Especially for men, there is also a HE PEE BALE.Which after much discussion, we worked out that this must be a 'natural' toilet for men!
There are many facilities on site (being there for only one night we didn't use them) such as a laundry and also showers. There is also a communal area with fridges, freezers, places to sit, a table tennis table and also stacks of information about what to do in the local area.
If there is no one in the office there is a radio on the outside of the door so someone can be contacted at all hours.
Fire wood can be bought on site, or you can bring your own. Even though we only stayed for one night, we went through two boxes (one for the long dark evening and the rest for the morning). My advice would be to bring some small bits of wood and kindling with you (or plenty of firelighters) as the wood pieces we had were quite damp and rather large. Another good thing though, if you do want to get some more wood and the office is closed, you can buy some more, by dropping a £5 pound note through the letter box.
There are lots of little walks to go on around the campsite and it really is ideal to get away from everything and just be at one with nature. We were really lucky to get a nice sunny October day which added to the whole experience, but even if the weather wasn't so good, it would still be a fantastic time.
This is a brilliant campsite and will definitely return next year

We just had 2 perfect days here in the small yurt and it wasn't long enough! Everything you need is provided. Can cook inside or out. Burnt all our rubbish so only had empty wine bottles to take away, that's no hardship. Lovely secluded spot, so quiet. Used the portaloos as the thunderbox was too niffy! Showers good, washing facilities good. Bit of a long walk to the pub but we didn't want to leave the site and took plenty of supplies anyway. Friendly chap comes around and sells crates of dry logs, reasonable price too. Table and seats aplenty outside and a good size fire pit. We saw squirrels, rabbits, sparrow hawks ,pheasants, water voles, bats, and a fox in such a hurry he almost bumped into us in the pitch black, I don't know who got more of a fright him or us, and I heard owls hunting at night. Its our first time in a yurt and we are now spoilt, we don't think we want to camp in a tent again! This lovely place was worth the 5 hour drive. Would return.

Thanks for an excellent weekend.
We were a group of 40 adults and children and have just enjoyed a brilliant bank holiday camping.
We were put in a field away from the other campers, which gave us loads of space to camp and for the children to run around. Being a large group it's difficult not to make noise, so putting us with other groups in a big field was a great idea.
The children loved the whole campsite, loads for them to do all day without getting bored. Plenty locally to do; fishing, golf, garden centres etc.
The facilities are not 5* but certainly more than adequate. Do not go if you are used to pampered camping, this is a real campsite.
Staff are excellent and campfires always make camping that much better.
Criticisms: The cost of wood is a bit much, bring your own if you can. The grass needed cutting around our tents.
My score for the whole experience would be 8.5/10.
It's great for children.

This is a lovely Campsite - very calm. When we visited, a hot roast was offered on a Saturday, which was delicious! Lots of open space, and reasonably priced. The campfire made it really special!
Facilities were okay. They we're fine for a couple of nights, however I'd want a little more 'luxury' if I was staying for a longer trip.
We didn't get to explore the surrounding area too much, however there were some lovely places to go for walks.

Just got back from August bank holiday camp. We were just staying as a family and there were lots of big groups which could be a little overpowering but the owners directed smaller groups to smaller fields so fine. The clientele were a little self consciously boho at times, lots of tepees and bunting - but to be expected by the marketing and proximity to Brighton.
The site is lovely, very pretty with loads for the kids to do in the woodland and stream. It was easy to get to so perfect for a weekend break. Although on the flypath for Gatwick which stared early in the morning and into the night. Didn't use the indoor facilities that much but the shop, toilets, shower were perfectly serviceable - don't go camping for luxury! We had the hog roast on Sunday night which was nice, we tried the Spanish breakfast as well but didn't think that was as good and expensive at the price.
But the best thing (and the reason that we booked) was the campfires, total treat! Wood was quite expensive at £5 for a small crate, so we got through about £20 worth over three nights.
We went to Brighton one day - very close. Didn't try the local pubs.
