We (a family of 5 plus dog) stayed over the Easter weekend. The Site manager and owners were friendly and helpful. The facilities were good, nice and clean. They were still improving the facilities further whilst we were there like adding a laundry room, which was a small inconvenience, but will make the facilities even better now. I would say maybe 1 extra washing up basin would help at busy times.
They had just installed a small playground area in the centre of the camp which all the kids loved and was in constant use. Despite being down a long track we found it easily enough.
There is lots to do nearby with country parks and a smallish amusement park close by.
It was a nice, quiet site and we would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

I have stayed at this site a few times now since summer 2007. The site itself is set in a lovely, idyllic rural spot, very quiet and relaxing. When I have stayed there it has always been as part of a larger group (usually 3-4 tents/6-10 people) and the past few times we have always been well looked after by the site manager. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, the manager has always been willing to help and even provided some first aid last time I was there!
The site facilities are good and to be honest I haven't ever noticed them in any other state other than clean and functional. Showers are free, as they should be and the pitches are very well spaced out.
As I said, been here a few times and we'll definitely be back in the not too distant future.

We chose this site at very short notice as we wanted to leave a day earlier than planned to go to Derbyshire and our booked site was full for the Sat night. This site was on our way to our holiday destination.
The way through to the site may be offputting but it shouldnt let it. A very peaceful, off the beaten track, site. The new owners of the site were very helpful and kind. They have a lot of work to do but seem to be getting on with it.
We didn't use any of the facilities as we got there at teatime and went straight out to the White Post which is a Marstons pub, about 2 miles away for a very reasonably priced and very nice meal. We used our own vans shower, etc and left quite early to go on to our planned site in Derbyshire.
There are a few pitches away from the main area which are secluded with views of open countryside. We stayed on one of these. In the main area we noticed there was a new children's play area which was being well used when we arrived.
Our main problem wasn't so much with the campsite, but with the Industrial Estate that you have to go through to get there. The road surface leaves a lot to be desired and we were caught out by the first of the speed bumps which are not clearly visible. We went over the first one and promptly 'popped' one of our rear self levelling shock absorbers on our Subaru Forester. The concrete road that then leads to the site is quite uneven, exaggerated more by losing a shock absorber! It is also quite a long drive so beware as you enter the Ind Est.
Initially we thought it would spoil the rest of our holiday but the car managed to carry on towing quite well.
We believe that the new people running this site will be a credit to it and we wish them good luck. Its just a shame about the Ind Est.

This was our first ever venture into caravanning, so we just had a two night break to try things out, found this site on site search.
Good points; easy to find, well signposted. Good toilets, clean, free and plentiful shower time. Very helpful warden/manager, plenty of room on plots, peaceful countryside location.
Other points; it's half an hour's walk across fields to the pub/shop, not possible in the dark and it's a car journey to anywhere else. The long concrete road would be problematic to larger units. No lighting on the outside pot wash area, although it was installed, it wasn't working when we were there. Although I'm a newbie, I think £18 a night is a bit steep for what I would call a basic site

We were lucky to spend a long weekend here for the Robin Hood Festival. A great site with an exceptional manager who was friendly and always helpful. The facilities were very clean and well laid out. We will definitely be going back! The site has no children's play area but the centre of the site was used by our kids and other kids on site. This enabled us to watch the kids play and they were able to mix with the others. It might be a windy road to get there, but it's well worth it.

Just got back from a fantastic weekend on this site. After arriving late on Friday, (and the owners were very understanding about this) we were shown to our pitch. All pitches are of an excellent size and separated by a row of trees making you feel cosy.
The site was very busy, lots of happy campers, all of whom were friendly and considerate to others. The facilities were very clean and tidy with constant hot water.
The owners are lovely, friendly and most importantly very helful. Nothing was an effort. They even allowed us to stay late on Sunday so we didn't have to rush off.
All-in-all an excellent weekend, weather being good also helped. Would definitely go back to this site. If your looking for a site just to get away and chill, then this site is a must.

We stayed here for 9 nights at the end of August. It was just our kind of site. The pitches were spacious and separated with trees. The toilets and showers were basic but always spotless. Tesco just a few miles away in Ollerton which was very handy.
The location was brilliant - we spent 2 days at clumber park, 2 days at sherwood pines ( forestery commission) a day at a fantastic animal farm - white post farm and a day at rufford abbey. My husband is a keen cyclist and found the backroads all very quiet plus loads of traffic free cycling for all the family in clumber and sherwood pines.
Our kids (9 and 6) loved the site and were kept amused climbing trees and spotting wildlife.
The owner was very approachable and friendly and the kids were very taken with his dog Pippa!
All in all a brilliant stay.

We spent a great August Bank holiday weekend at this site, the managers Steve & Izzy were most helpful & very friendly.
The kids loved playing with all the other children & everyone joined in the games.
The site was very clean & tidy & all the facilities were up to the job, the approach to the site is a little unusual, you go through a small industrial estate to reach it but once on the site this didn't matter.
We will definitely be back & would recommend this site to anyone.
One recommendation I would make is that a few swings etc would not go amiss for the kids.

Had a fabulous time here.
Not very well sign posted from the main road.
You do have to drive through a small industrial park to find site, but once there, surrounding area superb.
Owners were lovely.
Friendly and very helpful.
Provided friends with rock pegs as were struggling to pitch tent with normal pegs.
Toilets were cleaned regularly, although if I had to find fault it would be to provide a larger bin for paper towels, as they ended up on the floor!
There's no park, but all our kids (22 in total!not all ours!) still managed to keep themselves busy, climbing trees, building dens and cycling around the site.
Pitches are all good sizes and are separated by small trees.
Would recommend!

This was our first caravan outing so we wanted to go somewhere close as we were a little nervous, but after booking on the phone we knew we had made the right choice as the new owners were friendly and polite from the word go. On arrival we were escorted to our pitch, very scenic with young cedar trees either side of us and a large play area in the middle. As we were new to this, the owner gave us some good pointers on putting up the awning and said if we get stuck to give him a shout, well. We got the awning up and had a few spare poles lol but the owner showed us where they went and had a look over it to put our minds at ease.
Its a quiet family site, just what we wanted and has everything you need, A pot washing station with hot and cold water at a high level sink, and cold water taps next to it, Fresh painted toilet and shower blocks that are cleaned every day around 11am(they were ALWAYS clean)sinks with big mirrors and the showers were lovely and hot. There is a laundry room (ask for key at reception) So you can wash, dry and iron your clothes.
We liked it so much we are going again next weekend 8)
