Upon approach we wondered where we were going to be camping. We arrived on a small industrial estate, we then spotted a sign that pointed us up a very bumpy single file farm track which is 0.8 miles long. It was worth the drive as the site was very quiet and in the middle of open fields, there was no noise from the industrial estate at all.
The tents and caravans were all sited around the edge of the field so the kids could play in the middle. The facilities were a little old but they were clean. We struggled to do the pot washing the first night as there was no light but when we informed them the next day they started to install one. The showers only have curtains but we didn't find this a problem.
There wasn't a park for the children to play on and you need to go in the car to the local shops. We enjoyed going to Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey.

We've just got back from a couple of days at this site. We have been using CS's and CL's over the past couple of years with pitches costing no more than £10 so the £15 p/night was higher than we'd normally pay. The site was pretty much empty, however Steve and his wife made us feel more than welcome. The toilet block although very basic offered clean, hot showers, toilets etc and whenever we used them they were nice and clean. The road leading to the site is quite bumpy in places, but its worth the drive. The view we had was lovely over looking farmland.

This is a really friendly campsite quiet and very clean Steve the manager is very helpful and friendly pitches are a good size and there is hard standing for those rainy days that we get here in England.
The toilets and showers are very clean and well maintained.
There are some amazing walks in to local area with a lot of amazing views even though they are a bit muddy when wet as your walking on clay land.
There are many tourist attractions in the area that are good to experience and are value for money.

Things are certainly looking up since Steve and Izzy took over this site. This is a cracking little secluded hide away which was 'let down' by the previous manager. Steve seems hell bent on putting the place back on the map asap. When we were there nothing was too much trouble for Steve and Izzy. They are a lovely couple.
If you want a place to store your caravan look no further. There are 2 gigantic chicken sheds (Hangers) that are currently available as covered storage at no extra cost!?.
The road to the site is laid to concrete with the odd puddle hole in it when it rains. I can only assume that the writers of previous reviews that make negative mention of these 'dents' in the concrete are quite new to touring campsites! This road is in excellent condition compared to many, many tracks out there that are half it's length. Drive Slowly

We have just come away from this site after first visiting in May. Yes, when you get to the end of the long lane it is a lovely surprise to find a well laid out secluded site.
The showers and toilets are much cleaner and we have noticed lots of little changes. The new managers are extremely helpful and pleasant and we had a very enjoyable few days. Although we did not use it there was an adequate launderette which I am sure we will make use of next year on our longer visit.
The local village offers all the necessary amenities and there are lots of nearby attractions.

We had a fantastic family weekend at this campsite.
Yes, the road up to the site is a bit rundown and yes, the the showers and toilets need a little attention, however they are clean and the showers are nice and warm. We also went to this campsite for August bank holiday and we have noticed a vast improvement in just the few weeks.
Our party consisted of seven pitches, this was not a problem for the owners and they were happy to help in any way they could.
The price is very reasonable too.
We will definitely be booking again.

This is a lovely little site that we have visited a few times, in the past it has been in need of some TLC, it is now under new management and this seems to have been taken in hand. The shower block was the main let down but this has had a make over and is much cleaner and brighter. The new management are very helpful/ friendly and seem to have put a lot of work in to the site in the short time they have been in charge. The site is tucked away in a little haven at the top of a long lane, we have a large unit but have no problem accessing the site. All in all a nice place to be with lots to do in the surrounding area.

We visited for a one night stay to test our ability to cope with a 1 year old and a yappy dog - both did well!
The approach to the camp site is pretty poor with some big potholes - I wouldn't be too impressed if staying for longer and having to drive down it more frequently. Nice big pitches and site was quiet on the night we were there.
The children's play area is just a single slide and two swings, not much to get excited about. Site is a bit ropey looking in some areas, and could do with a tidy up and some areas fencing off a little better to stop young ones going in areas they shouldn't be in (old disused camping area opposite reception?)
The toilet block was basic, everything worked, but could do with a bit of modernisation - not somewhere you want to spend much time in.
All in all, basic site, price ok and they were ok with a 1 night weekend stay where other local sites had a 2 night min.

Our party of 3 families, all in tents, had a fantastic weekend at this site recently. The site is a good size (not too big) and had a very relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. It is sheltered by large trees, so although it was quite breezy when we were there it was very still at ground level.
The children loved the small play area that was situated right next to our tent! The toilets / showers were clean, with free shot water and not a long walk from the camping area. The owner was friendly and helpful.
The only slight downside is that the pitches were a bit uneven and stony but nothing that we couldn't cope with. We will definitely return, probably soon!

Stayed here over the whit holiday. Site is accessed through a industrial site which at first glance is a little off putting. Access is a little rutty but easily passable.
The site is good, pitches are roomy and plenty of space to play as pitch next door was empty. The site however is let down by the toilet block which is in need of a make over and a little money spending on it. If this was sorted then this would be a gem and I would visit again but there are other sites in the area I would chose first because of this problem.
Bins were not emptied through the week either which caused rubbish piling up around the bins. Owners are very friendly and if the toilet block was sorted then would a very good place to stay
