We have just returned from a lovely weekend here and have booked for a return! We are a family of 3 touring caravans and have children of mixed ages.
The 'Green' in the centre of the site is in full view from the surrounding pitches and has a play structure with swings. There is plenty of room to play ball games, frisby etc.
The facilities are spotless and well maintained. We were welcomed on site and shown around by the friendly wardens who were visible over the weekend but not intrusive. Noise levels were low and respectfully adhered to after dark. An added bonus is the kennel business at the end of the lane. We didn't use the kennels this time as we had a sitter but will use them when we return for the August Bank Holiday. Our dog is quite large and excitable and doesn't do well on campsites but by boarding her here we will still be able to visit daily to walk her.
All in all this is an excellent location which ticks all the boxes for us. Prices are very reasonable and this site represents excellent value for money. Do not be put off by the fact that you have to access the site by driving through an industrial estate. After 50 yards you are on a direct road up to the site and although slightly bumpy in places will take you straight up to the site. In summary, Highly recommended.

Very helpful friendly wardens, they were good with dealing with me and my two young kids. Small site but very safe feeling (important when you have young kids) beautiful surroundings, quiet and clean. Showers and toilets felt like home from home which was nice and everything was well maintained. Caravan storage available on site too. I'm so impressed with the cleanliness and feel of this site I am going to pitch up over the winter.
Good places to visit within a short car trip and I found the local pub about 30min country walk away. Close to local shops but slightly isolated (which I like). Looked after small play area for younger kids which is in the centre of the camp. Reasonable prices. Same price to pitch all year which is a bummer when you want to come out of peak season but at £20 for a family of 4 I'm not complaining.

I visited this site for the first time on the strength of reviews from this forum. I was not disappointed. This is a very clean well kept site with a friendly welcome. The main touring and tent area contains a fantastic children's play area in the middle which can be seen from any of the pitches. There are some hardstanding pitches and also some lovely grass pitches.
The toilet block is immaculate with plenty of hot water, as is the washing up area. The ladies toilets have vanity mirrors and plug sockets available for hairdryers, straighteners etc.
The site is within a few miles of Rufford Abbey and Sherwood Forest which are great for a day out.
We loved this site so much that we went back for a second time just a couple of weeks later. This will definitely be our go to site for quick weekends away.
I would recommend this site highly.

Booked to stay here at short notice, stayed the bank holiday weekend and even though the site was busy, the shower block was spotlessly clean and nothing was to much trouble for the on site manager.
The pitches were nicely landscaped and good gravel hardstandings even with all the really heavy rain the site drained well.
On arrival do not be put off by the small industrial estate and narrow concrete road you have to travel through because the drive is really worth it the site is like a little oasis.

Stopped here based on reviews. Nothing was too much trouble for the park manager who was always nearby, but never in the way if you know what I mean.
Great for kids. The 'family area' surrounds a play area, so all pitches look at the play area and you can let the kids play till dark (it's aimed at youngsters so our 3&6 yr olds were always on the swings).
For a quieter pitch you are likely to get on the lower area. Although if they did a bit of hedge trimming here it would have nicer views.
Facilities very clean, fresh and simple. Not sure if anyone else took a shower as always available for my use. Seems that owners have a programme to improve further as its just had new windows and new shower fittings put in. Incidentally it was a bit odd that there was only a shower curtain to maintain your dignity, but it was never a problem.
The kids recommend Sherwood (Edwinstowe) and Rufford Park as both very close for days out and a picnic (as well as the obligatory robin hood regalia with bow and arrow set)
Also found small Co-op in Edwinstowe, but didn't get to try the butcher opposite as she was closing up at 2:30 on Sat. Pm.
And if you fancy a weigh-in, there is a public weighbridge on the road to the site which I understand you can use for a small fee.
Make sure you have rockpegs and club hammer for awning - as new pea shingle hides a very hard surface.
O2 signal fine on site, but marginal for 3G if you can't keep away from tinternet!

Last minute decision to take a break not too far from home. Chose this site as it seemed to be near a few attractions.
It was very quiet in spite of it being the weekend. This is a very clean site with nice facilities and very helpful warden. Cost us £18 per night including EHU - good value we thought.
There is a little children's play area with some fun equipment for small children which was very popular so I would definitely recommend this site for families with children under about 7.
Not far from this site is National Trust property 'The Workhouse' at Southwell - definitely worth a visit.
Also beautiful Clumber Park - we will return there definitely, it's a great park with loads to do.
You can't really get anywhere within walking distance from this site but it is peaceful.

This is a lovely quiet peaceful site, away from trafic. Good clean facilities. Little play area in the middle, treehouse, slide, swing.
Very helpful on site, shop and pub with fab food in Bilsthorpe (about 1. 5 miles away). Nice large grassy flat pitch. Security barrier, your card is £10 returnable deposit.
10 mins max away from White Post Farm and Wheelgate Park. Recommend both for a full day out with kids.
We will definitely be returning to this site.

Took my new caravan to try out. The site manager and his wife were very helpful and friendly as were the other campers.
Was a very clean and tidy site, very clean toilet block. There was a small park for my daughter she loved it.
Hard standing pitches for caravans, washing area, waste disposal area.
Very secure site with barriers and gate which is good as also have stored my van up there on a hard standing pitch
There is a mix of storage there at far rates.
It is situated close to clumber park, rufford park and sherwood forest all a drive away. I enjoyed my stay will be returning again.

Me and my wife found this park on UKCampsite.co.uk and we stayed over the Easter because our booked site was under water with the bad weather
Upon arrival you go through a small industrial area but please don't let this put you off as the park is about half a mile past this.
The site is well sign posted and easy to find when we arrived we were greeted by steve the park manager who showed us to our pitch and said if we needed any help we should give him a call and we thought that was a nice
The site has just been taken over by new owners and you can see that they are trying very hard to make this place into something special.
In our opinion there isnt much left for them to improve on to be fair` all the pitches are very big ours was hard standing that was perfect in the damp weather the site was quite full with lots of friendly campers the showers where kept very clean and tidy with constant hot water`
There was a kids play area that was well used by the kids the new owners seem very helpful and friendly along with steve and his wife.
All I can say is that we had a lovley stay at this site not only us but everyone else who we spoke too didn`t have a bad word about this place.
Great holiday great park we would deffo go back and would recommend to anyone.

I would like to say that me and my friends and family stayed at this wonderful little site in April and we all had a lovely time.
We stayed on this site about two years ago and found it ok, but since February it has been taken over by new owners and what can I say
They really have transformed this site into a great place for a holiday! Since our last visit there has been so many improvements most of the pitches are hard standing, with a new road around the main field, which makes it so much easier for a bad reverser like me
A new kids play area that was great. All in all a very nice site.
We will be back and we wish the new owners all the best because they are a credit to robin hood retreat.
