Picked up our new caravan and went straight to Robin Hood Retreat to spend our first few days learning about caravanning after reading great reviews on this site. We definitely were not disappointed. We were met by the lovely wardens, Sue and Gary, who were so helpful and friendly and even helped us 'newbies' pitch up when we arrived and hitch up at the end of our stay. We were given a superb spot in the Adult Only section which was lovely and quiet even though it was Whitsun Bank Holiday. The place was very well maintained with lovely views across the open fields and very level pitches. The facilities were spotless. Would highly recommend this place, a real find run by lovely people. Thank you Sue and Gary for making our first venture memorable.

We really enjoyed our stay here it is very peaceful and somewhere to chill out and relax. The park is very clean a tidy and well maintained. All the staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.
The toilet and shower block is kept clean at all times and there is also a pot wash area that is covered so you don't have to wait for the rain to stop before doing the pots.
This site is a bit out the way but well worth it once you get there.

Brilliant site. Very clean and tidy. It is run by a lovely couple who make you feel very welcome and are very helpful. Lovely hot showers all day and laundry facilities are very clean areas. Very safe site particularly for children who have a play area. Also for those who do not have children there is a beautiful separate area for setting up your caravans \rv's in a lovely spot again with gorgeous views.
Very close to Nottingham itself with great shops and it's castle.
I definitely recommend this beautiful site to everyone.

We came to this site on recommendation from their sister site. We spent a few days here and we were amazed at how clean and tidy the facilities were. The wardens were so friendly and helpful. The site is child friendly with a play park and a football pitch for them. The area is great for cycling, walking and relaxing. We loved it that much that we decided to site our caravan there for 12 months and have been every weekend so far.
Highly recommend this site to anyone with or without children.

Highly recommend this site to anyone. It's amazingly clean. Well maintained. And so very quiet. With beautiful countryside.
One of the best campsites I've been to.
All pitches are well secluded. Dog and child friendly. With lovely hosts.

After visiting orchard park on several occasions we were informed that they had acquired another park, let's give it a try we both agreed. Robin hoods retreat is a well kept secret, to be honest I'm reluctant to tell you all about it just in case it's fully booked next time we want to visit. Access is a little off putting, you go through an industrial estate but once there I don't think you will be disappointed. We pitched on the adults only area but to be quite honest I don't think it matters where you are, its lovely.

We found this campsite whilst looking for somewhere to store and use our caravan near our daughter's.
Although you approach the site through a rather ugly industrial estate, this soon disappears as you carry on along to the site itself.
It is a lovely, peaceful site, with a separate adults only section, if this is what you want.
Many of the pitches are separated by trees so you get privacy.
It is very well kept, and the wardens are very friendly.
As we don't have a tow car they arrange to tow our van in and out of the storage compound, which is extremely secure.
The toilet block is immaculate. It is a little chilly. The shower cubicles only have a curtain to hide your modesty, and there is no separate bit in the cubicle for changing. But this is a minor issure. There is a chair in the first part of the toilet block, but it is a hign one, so not much help for sitting on to put your shoes on. Maybe a lower seat or bench would be useful.
So far we have stayed here twice, both when the weather has been very cold, but we are looking forward to spending more time there in nicer weather.
A very good find.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Robin hoods retreat taking our grand children with us caravaning for their first time.
All I can say is they loved it and so did we.
We were greeted on arrival by Sue and Gary the site Wardens
What a cracking friendly couple nothing seemed to be to much trouble to them.
The pitches are nice and flat with fine stone hardstanding.
There is a small play park area for the children which is nicely laid out and safe.
The toilets and showers are excellent and always clean.
The views and wild life surrounding are wonderfull and there are a lot of great venues around the area to visit for both adult and child.
This is truly a retreat as its name says
A really nice three days
Thankyou
Jack Sparrow

First impressions don’t always matter.
Five nights away in Nottingham county,
Where the land is rich in sharing it’s bounty.
And hidden away behind an industrial park,
Scruffy and scattered grey boxes industrially dark.
Is a haven, a beauty, a restful little place,
Aptly named robin hood’s retreat, for a holiday base.
For those under canvas, towed units or with motor caravan,
Site is just perfect to relax, chill out or anything else you may plan.
Whatever it is that a camping holiday should provide,
You will find it here surrounded by beauty so wide.
The views are exceptional for townies or others,
For families, mothers, and fathers, sisters and brothers.
You will arrive disbelieving how it is hidden from the road,
And stay while still finding activities abroad,
In this fair county, robin hood’s beat,
Where along with maid marion he may have made his retreat.
And you will depart well rested, relaxed and prepared,
To accept that ignoring first impressions and taking a challenge dared,
On this occasion will have paid off, when you decided to embark,
Along that single track path to this caravan park.
Harry pleavin, a well satisfied caravanner

Lovely stay again at this site.
We booked last minute so we're thrilled to find they had availability and the kids let out a massive cheer when we told them we were going back.
The site is clean, well maintained and has has a lovely park for the kids. Nice and quiet.
Shower block clean and warm, decent size pot washing area.
Site wardens are brilliant so friendly and helpful.
Great days out at clumber park and sherwood forrest to be had.
Not sure if free wifi available. This would have given it a 10/10 for facilities. If there is it wasn't publicised.
Well be back!
