We have had our van on here for 7 week and loved every minute. So relaxed and immaculately clean. Kids have loved playing in the park and great for bike rides. Some lovely pubs locally and places to eat. The staff are very friendly and welcoming especially the wardens sue and Gary nothing is too much trouble for them. The owners are lovely feel like I have known them for years very friendly they all make you feel very welcome. Hopefully we will be back next year, would highly recommend this site if you want a peaceful break, short drive from wheelgate park and white post farm if you have kids x

Just spent 2 nights here it was fantastic the wardens are unbelievably helpful the owners are really nice and have loads of local knowledge on the area, there's miles of walks a kids area and best of all a brand new shower block and it has proper showers ( not those push button 5 second ones) and a little shop to help you through

We stayed here for a few days and found the site to be of a high standard.
The toilet and shower block are very clean, and the whole site looks tidy.
There is a lovely play area for young children with little trikes and ride on toys as well as a wooden climbing tower.
We were greeted by friendly wardens who helped us to site the van and who showed us round the site facilities. The site is well maintained and is quiet and we found the pitch we had been given had wonderful views over the countryside. We would recommend this site to other campers and caravanners who seek a relaxing break or holiday.

Back from a lovely break with our grandchildren. Campsite very different from our last visit lots of changes done by the new owners who work very hard from dawn until dusk. Toilet block much improved no flooded floor anymore and as always was spotlessly clean. Met lots of other friendly campers with great children who all played together everyday, we arrived on Wednesday and welcomed by the warden sue who was very helpful and took me to the pitch which was small for our needs with two small children my husband arrived after us but left car in the car park as not enough room on the pitch. Some bigger pitches remained unoccupied during our stay. We paid £28 per night which is pricey and our electric switched off at 4. 10am Saturday morning. I went to see the warden at 8am to be told we had ran out of electric and how much did we want to top it up to! Needless to say I was spitting feathers that this was allowed to happen just assumed electric was in the pitch fee. The bag of ice I bought from the well stocked campsite shop the day before was in a puddle under the fridge. I was charged £2 for electric top up. Just to bring to fellow campers attention also a charge of £1 per day and £4 per night for car park fees if you have visitors is not per car its is per person the posters do not state 'per person'. Misleading. This campsite has fantastic views of rolling countryside and a very safe secure and truly relaxing place it really is a retreat!. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

In the heart of the countryside, in what can only be described as a peaceful haven is the 'Robin Hood Retreat'. Feels like a million miles from anywhere, so peaceful and so relaxing.
We recently bought our first ever caravan & we have now got a seasonal pitch here, it has been the best thing we have ever done. This park is like a community, you are made to feel so welcome but at the same time there is space to be alone & quiet.
We came here to escape the hustle of a busy city & we have not been disappointed. The new owners, Mary & Joe, are fabulous, I have never seen 2 people work SO hard to create somewhere that they clearly feel passionate about. The wardens, Sue & Gary, are very welcoming and will do anything they can to help, they have made our family feel safe after what has been a very sad & turbulent time for us, they give us the space to join in with the 'community' or have time alone to be together as a family.
The park is kept immaculate, the facilities are always clean even when the park is full. You can use the laundry facilities at anytime & help is on hand with anything you could possibly need during your stay.
We wake everyday to hear the birds singing. What more do you want from a retreat! There are plenty of lovely walks, lots of places nearby to visit, lots of local pubs & shopping in nearby villages or towns.
I have only good words for this park it really is fabulous!
I can only wish Robin Hood Retreat years of happiness, success & happy campers!
Thanks from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the fresh beginnings we needed!

We have just returned from a lovely week away at Robin Hoods Retreat.
Such a lovely quiet peaceful place in the middle of nowhere.
A tranquil place in beautiful surroundings & perfect for anyone who wants a break.
The showers/ toilets are always immaculate & a credit to the Wardens who are always busy, making sure everything is spotless & everyone is happy.
The wardens are so helpful & friendly, in fact everyone that we met at this place were a pleasure to meet.
We will definitely return to this lovely little haven of a place 😊
Thank you for a wonderful stay, Anita, Steve & Joe

We came to this site first in May 2015 and it left an impression on us then. A small, personal, but idyllic site and when we came back in this month it was even better. The new owners have polished what was a great site already. New showers, better hard standings, and much needed work to the approach road just show what the site means to them. We loved it so much again we decided to pitch for a 3 month seasonal pitch. For us, some of the bigger sites leave you a little cold. Not here. On this site, the spirit of caravanning lives large and everyone was so nice. Gary and Sue, the wardens, will greet you with the warmest welcome and you can relax on what is an absolute gem of a site. Well done to all involved and see you soon ! Jane & Jon + kiddies.

Very friendly campsite that is quickly being improved due to dedicated new owners! Had two lovely weekend stays here and met the new wardens. Made to feel very welcome and already planning on returning in a few weeks. The playground was perfect for our little one and Sue (one of the wardens) even came to play with him while we did some jobs! The other warden was very helpful to other campers during a storm while they were away from their caravans, he put awnings back up and ensured caravans were safe from the rain while owners were away! We have been made to feel very welcome at this site and it has definitely made it onto our shortlist! The Copper Beech pub in the village is also a must, especially for Sunday dinner!

We visited this lovely friendly site last weekend, we will definitely be visiting again! Nice play area for the children, lots of good walks for anyone with pets (or without pets). We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful in all aspects. The shower and toilet block are spotless. There are some great improvements being made and some of the views from the site are fantastic.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The new owners are doing a wonderful job and all their hard work is paying off. The site has a lovely area for children to play and a quieter area if you are adult only. The owners are making an adult only part to the site which when finished will be great with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The approach to the site is through a small industrial area and then up a single track road with passing places. Please don't be put off by this its worth the trip. We walked to the local village of Bilsthorpe which took us about 25 minutes along a path through fields. It has a small supermarket and a pub. We did not try the pub but the reviews were good. The site has very clean toilet and shower block and chemical emptying area. Reception has a very small shop. The owners deserve to do well and I look forward to our next visit.
