We've just returned from a 2 night stay at this site. Absolutely brilliant. We went with friends who have used this site for the last 20years!
We ourselves were put off by our last camping trip some 25years ago( not this site).
Having just had a wonderful weekend away, the camping flame has been re-ignited. The site was spotless, the pitches were of a very good size & the facilities were so clean, even with the children running in & out filling up water pistols!
The showers were free, at last a shower without the worry of running out of change. The staff were lovely too, nothing was too much trouble.
The whole weekend was wonderful. The location, surroundings, walks & area were just wonderful.
Going back again in July. Highly recommend this site.

Horam Manor really came to our rescue when Park Farm let us down on the morning of our trip. The staff bent over backwards to save the day and found us 2 pitches on this extremely busy weekend. This is our 2nd trip to horam and this time we spent a bit more time wandering around the local woods and lakes. Very peaceful and relaxing. While I am not a fisherman our friends are and they spent a lot of time round the lake and were constantly yanking fish out! Sadly the local village seemed to close down for the bank holiday? Although there is a local newsagent and when that is closed a small garage on the hill which sells most things you may have forgotten. The local pub at the bottom of the hill serves excellent food, although the owner is about to move on due to the village being so quiet. The site itself is a little uneven, but the showers are hot and toilets clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We shall return.

Stayed 3 nights with friends (2 pitches in the top field). We found the pitches a little cramped and our large family tents made it difficult to adhere to the 3 metre spacing rule. One pitch (102) also contained a tree and two bushes which meant that the pitching position was severely restricted. The very narrow shale road around the field also mean that pitches across the other side felt quite close. Not the feeling of space that we were hoping for.
That said the staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities really were first class with a clean toilet/ shower block, washing up areas and laundry! The site was also fantastic value for money at £16.50 a night.
Our group loved the area by the fishing lakes and nature trail and it was a shame that the tea room sited there had closed down - the campsite staff referred us to it as somewhere that did good food so some confusion there.

We have just spent a nice weekend at this site, the toilets and showers are clean and it was nice to have your own temperature setting for the free showers.
Some nice little walks around the lakes, playing fields all around so lots of space for kids to play.
There are a few shops within a 10 min walk and the local pub, Horam Inn. We found The Brewers Arms at Vines Cross to be a very nice pub.

A very pleasant site that is mainly grass. The site had a few flat pitches but most are either slighlty slopping or uneven. We stayed at the bottom of the front field.
The site was generally very quite and we were not disturbed by any noise with the exception of a local music group practising in the nearby village hall.
There is good fishing on the Horam Manor estate with payment into an honesty box.
This was only our second time camping as a family and the site managers (over from Spain for the summer) were absolutely superb. With lots of advice and help. Ice bricks were frozen in the office although they did seem to get a bit mixed up and we ended up with someone else's back! There were ice creams for sale in the reception as well.
Electric hooks ups we not always on the pitch but extension leads could be borrowed from the reception for a small deposit.
There was a cafe in the Manor grounds although the quality of the food was quite 'greasy spoon' when we were here.
The facilities were always clean and even with only 3 showers in the mens never had to queue. The family room was accessible by borrowing a key from the reception for a deposit so was always clean and hardly used.
There is a small but run down children's play area but the site if next to the village recreation ground!
Great site for a base to visit Brighton and Eastbourne.

What I would call an old fashioned site, but in a nice way.
Two large fields with large pitches most of which looked as though they were on a slope. No hardstanding.
Only one light for whole site which was not sufficient and the exterior lighting for the toilet block was inadequate.
The toilet block was clean, but may be a tad small in high season. BUT what a joy to have showers with water temperature I could choose for myself AND not having to keep pushing a button!
A must visit cafe is only 500 yds away. Lovely food. The Cuckoo Trail (an old railway line) is also worth a visit with 17 miles of walks or cycling.

We stayed at Horam Manor touring park for 5 night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the layout was neat and our pitch had a slight slope, but this was not enough to notice. The only real fault was the showers when used at peak times, when the were a mere dribble, at other times they were fine. Our 3 teenage children soon made friends and with a large playing field with goalposts kept them occupied. The local shops had our daily needs but a short trip to nearby Heathfield for a supermarket was not a burden, the local Chinese takeaway even delivered to our tent. The coast is also only a 20 minute drive away, so all in all we had a great time considering this was our first UK holiday for 12 years.

This site is one of the nicest friendliest sites we have stayed on and we have stayed on a few in our time.
The showers, toilets are always clean and not at all smelly.
There is plenty of electric hook up points if you need one (we personally don't bother), there are plenty of water taps, it has a good recycling area and there are wardens on site 24 hours a day, so the rules are kept.
No large rowdy groups, music off at 11pm and no open fires (We actually wish we were allowed to have a small fire in a fire basket type thing).
The playground could be better, but there is the nature trail through the woods, horse riding, about 9 fishing lakes which are only £5 a rod per day so the kids can try it, and plenty of tench and carp being caught.
Overall a great site in a great little village that has everything you could need.
We are going back this year.

Lovely campsite, we were in the second field which was very level, there is a large playing field where all the kids played cricket or football, brilliant fishing, there are 10 lakes to fish at £5 per day per rod, the toilet/showers are kept very clean but there are only 3 showers in each block so there was a queue sometimes. We will be going back again

Myself and three girlfriends stayed here after a long search for a local site (we're all from mid Sussex) that would accept an all girl group (despite us all being in our thirties with boyfriends / husbands / kids some sites are still really strict and expect all single sex parties to be loud and lairy!) And what a find!
Lovely large pitches and a good atmosphere, friendly staff and great location, a large Co-Op in nearby Heathfield and the little village of Horam had a local shop and pub with a nice garden and a good menu which was easily in walking distance of the site. It was a shame that the Merrydown cider factory had long since closed but there are a couple of vineyards nearby which you can walk to if you're feeling energetic! A great chilled out weekend!
