June 2004 We arrived at the site around 7pm on a Friday evening and were greeted by the friendly couple who run the site. The site is divided into two fields and we could choose where we wanted to go. Having two children we chose the second field. The pitches vary in size and we picked a large corner - ample room and clearly marked out. The facilities were clean and the water hot and free. Quiet site but with a nature trail, fishing and horseriding all within a short walk it was great. Local pubs serve wonderful food - and the village has most things that you need. Will definitely be going back again this year.

June 2004 Very friendly and helpful lady at reception. We stayed in the second field as this was flat so perfect for tents. The washing facilities were spotless and we did not have to queue. The site was very quiet and there were lots of wild bunnies roaming around. This was a very clean and tidy site that I would thoroughly recommend.

May 2004 This was our first Camping Trip in our New Trailer Tent. We found the site to be quiet, very clean and easy going. It was not very busy when we were there so had no problem waiting for showers and washing up. Although on the Saturday morning the mens showers were cold. There are 4 nature walks you can go on ranging from 20 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. We went on the 1 hour walk and throughly enjoyed it. There is a small playgound for Toddlers, but my 11 and 8 year old wanted to play on the larger playground which was not situated on the campsite. We enjoyed our visit and would consider returning again.

21st-23rd May 2004 We have just returned from our first camping trip with our trailer tent. The staff were friendly and we were allowed to choose our own pitch when we arrived. The price was fair for a family of 5, although on first sight it did not look as if there was enough to keep our three boys out of mischief (admitedly, almost an impossible task most of the the time). We decided to stay in the second field, as this had the toilet and shower blocks and a small playground for younger children. As the site was not busy the two older boys managed to play cricket (we did check at Reception first). On Saturday we went on one of the nature trails, the price of which was included in our camping fees. We also visited the museum and the Merrydown wine outlet, where we had no choice but to purchase some of their produce!!!! which we thoroughly enjoyed after our dinner. This campsite was quiet, clean and well looked after, and we will definitely consider visiting again.

August 2003 A real get away from it all holiday. A lovely site with up to date and spotless facilities. Even the grass is clean!!!!!!! We will definately go back next year. The village it's self is very basic and on a hill so a double buggy was tricky but as you'd have to have a car to get there in the first place thats not a problem. I would recomend this site to anyone with or without kids who like peace and quiet!! We have a large family so the large pitches were great as you're not on top of anyone. The lady of the site was so helpfull too. 10/10!!!!

23rd July 2003 Talk about jumping headfirst back into camping after many years of abscence. This time though the experience couldn't of been more pleasurable. Horam Manor is a well placed site with a great quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Certainly far from being over commercialised and a good size too so theres plenty of breathing space for everyone. The facilities are a good size and Immaculate. It was a nice touch to arrive to a nice smile aswell which some other sites forget to give. It does make all the difference and makes you feel welcome. I certainly recommend the site and all being well will visit again later this Year. Thanks

July 2003 Nice quiet campsite with excellent amenities block. Nice nature walks on site as well as very good fishing! However, the immediate surroundings are nothing special so be prepared to use the car to get to other attractions. Not as rural as expected.

May 2003 This is the second time we have stayed and thoroughly enjoyed it. The children had a marvellous time. There is plenty to do and a rally good SUSTRANS cycle path very close by, which even the most unfit of us managed. I would heartily recommend it.

27.6.03-29.6.03 Other than camping out in a makeshift windbreak in the military, this was my first time camping since 1974. A lot has changed in the tent world. For the good I must admit. So it was with my shiny new equipment that I arrived at the campsite. It was well signposted and upon arrival I was greeted by a lovely smiling face. I was made to feel welcome straight away. I explained this was a late in life venture and I was given loads of helpful advice. I set up about 100 yards from the toilet block which was spotless. Instant hot water in the sinks and showers. I even found a laundrette. Fresh water taps were at different places around the site. Caravans and those wanting electricity were in the middle of the field I was in. They use two fields. The second one was the larger one. Thank goodness I had practised putting my tent up before I arrived. It wasn't long before I was starting to unwind. The few spots of rain that were around when I set up had disappeared and we were all enjoying a lovely balmy evening in Sussex. Two hot air balloons drifted lazily over the site as the sunset. Lovely! The site owner came over and asked how I was and I asked about the "Cuckoo Trail", as I love walking. I actually cooked all my meals on the site as the weather was fantastic the whole weekend. I made some lovely friends with a family who arrived late on Fiday night and we all helped put the tent up. I spent the best part of Saturday walking. People around me spoke of the excellent food provided by a place that looked out onto the fishing lake that people were using. This was right next to the site. "Good value for money", was mentioned a few times. Overall my experience was very positive. I have no other sites to judge this one against yet in terms of what I woud want from a campsite this would be a standard that I would want all others to have. Already looking to try another site out. I arrived home Sunday afternoon feeling nice and relaxed and the start of a promising suntan. Mike
