Stayed here same time last year. Lovely site. People that run it are so friendly and helpful. Had one party near us that were very noisy and had massive fight at 1am and they were removed from site after several complaints from numerous campers. It just wasn't a problem. They advertise as a friendly quiet site and they really do all they can to help. Local walks were wonderful especially the Cuckoo Trail. Village is beautiful and Pub serves a superb Sunday lunch. Toilet facilities were cleaned regularly and showers were free. When we go back next year I might ask if they could guarantee better weather! Hail stones in June!

September 2005 We stayed for 3 nights mid-week and loved it! There are 2 fields next door where dogs can roam off the lead, and there is a nature walk of approx 1 hour (or less if you take the short cut routes) through woodland, open fields, past streams and lakes although the dog was not allowed off the lead (she still managed to fall in the stream though!) It was really quiet (although just outside school holidays) there were 3 showers in ladies & gents, with lovely hot water all morning and it was all v. v. clean. If you do the cuckoo trail walk from Horam in either direction - the bit just outside Heathfield is quite built up & you keep having to cross roads. Between Horam & Heathfield there is a signpost off to the right to the Runt in tub pub, which did a fantastic ploughmans and had the most enormous beer garden with loads of giant games! My favourite walk was when we followed a footpath sign off the trail and were able to wander through fields and woodland. Would highly recommend esp for dog owners!

August 2005 We arrived in the August bank holiday on an unserviced pitch, 3 tents shared between 2 pitches. We thought it was good of the site to accomodate us in this way especially as the place was so inexpensive to begin with!
As to be expected on a bank holiday the place was very busy with a lively family atmosphere. Facilities were great, immaculate toilet/shower block with drinking water supply. Fenced playground for the kids. A nice cafe with some great food.
Fishing was great, 9 (or 10) lakes. I fished 2 of them and pulled out a few carp, tench, perch, roach. Loads of young fish in the beginners lake right next to the campsite if you don't fancy the long trek to the further lakes.
Run by a very friendly bunch. My mates car battery went flat and they didn't hesitate to bring over a portable starter to get it going.
Would highly recommend this place for families andfishing trips.

June 2005 We visted this campsite on a weekend and found it really nice. It was very clean with good toilet and washing facilities. The people were very friendly and the nearby walks were lovely. We camped on the second field and there was good level ground. It wasnt restricted so that was nice too. One day we followed the Cuckoo trail and we all throughly enjoyed that. The only downside to this campsite was there could of been a small shop with the bare essentials. We travelled into a town to stock up on food supplies. Overall we really enjoyed staying at this campsite! Thank you

June 2005 First time visitors to the site, was greated by the owners, who were friendly & helpful. Pitched tent in first field, plently of space, though ground was a bit bumpy. Toilet block clean, site very tidy, fishing is good for a beginner, as there are well stocked lakes with a variety of fish. Nice nature walk, horses & sheep in fields near by. Local pub is great, warm friendly with good food. Not far from main shops, will be returning in the near future.

April 2005 Good site, great location, helpful and friendly owners. Relaxed and uncommercialised. Maybe slightly overbooked this weekend - very busy, and pitches not marked out, so it felt crowded.
Two fields - both sloping, boggy-ish at lower end of second field after prolonged wet spell. Only one loo block which is not enough - long queues in both ladies and gents.
Nature trail on site is an excellent way to spend a morning, finish up at the great little tea shop. Lots of people fishing - not our bag, but apparently the ponds are 'well stocked'.
Two pubs within walking distance; we never found the 'grocery' shop (no shop on site, apart from gas exchange) - but Heathfield only 15 mins drive.

May 2005 This is a good clean, basic campsite. Friendly staff. Pitches in second field better, apart from hookup electric plots you cannot reserve a plot its first come first served. We arrived early 2pm on Friday of a Bank Holiday. Pitches were a little water logged, however dried out by Saturday. Quite after 10pm even though a lot of children on site. Fishing lakes are excellent however pretty full on Sunday. Not to far a drive to Eastbourne and a little further Brighton. Cuckoo Cycle track nearby which is nearly 11 miles off road cycling, safe for families. We would gladly return.

August 2004 Good, clean facilities. Three hot showers in both the men and women's toilets. Two pubs within walking distance. Both fields can get busy during the weekends.

July 2004 Good site, Toilets & showers are clean and you will see one of the owners in there several times a day cleaning them. Good relaxing site plenty of walks through the woods. If you like fishing, the lakes are very well stocked, with some pretty big fish!
Would recommend this site to first time campers, pitches are huge and flat. hookups are limited , so check when you book.

2nd - 4th July 2004 Excellent site. Facilities very clean with lashings of hot water. Rainy and windy and cold all weekend but we had a wonderful time being as though this was our first camping trip. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definately be visiting again later this year.
