Just spent a lovely week at this campsite. Would recommend it to friends and family. Very good value and nice and clean, no STRICT rules. Campers allowed to use common sense!
Toilet block clean and regularly checked by owners. Owners can round several times a day to collect rubbish and empty bins. Lots of space on each pitch and allowed to face friends, not regimentally made to line up. Very relaxed atmosphere, kids hung out together and made loads of friends.
I don't like being negative, but the only improvements I would like are a better children's play area and another toilet/shower/washing up block on the other field.
Had a lovely meal at the HORAM INN. Fresh cooked food, happily adapted the menu for the children. Yummy!

We spent 4 days at this site and for the most enjoyed it, the toilet, shower facilities are excellent. The pitches are of a reasonable size but they do slope. We chose this site amongst other things for the nature walks and for the horse riding for the kids. Firstly you have to pay £1 per person to walk the nature trail, this is not stated on the website. The horse riding was £13 for a half hour hack, this however includes getting all the horses and riders ready to go, so in the end the kids only ended up with about a 20 min hack.

An excellent site. Friendly and helpful staff, site has a great location with nature walks, fishing, horse riding and is a great base to visit east sussex inc Brighton, Drusilla's Park. The toilets were perfectly adequate and cleaned regularly. There was a separate family bathroom which was ideal for our little pack as it was lockable and had a baby bath. There was an issue with the boilers when we stayed but they fixed it as quick as they could. The kids loved it (even the 4 month old) and we are definitely going to visit again. Strongly recommended!

Nice site - kept clean - bins emptied regularly.
Toilets are clean and showers are clean and with temp gage so you can have it as cool or as hot as you like! Nice and close to camping fields.
A tip just be careful where you pitch your tent if you have separate fly and ground sheet as during our stay we had heavy rain and storms (5 hours) and the inside to the tent got flooded as there was so much water laying on the ground that was not draining away (our sleeping pods stayed dry and the water had soaked away by the morning)
Very friendly welcome will await you.

My husband and I have just spent a lovely day and night at this campsite . The weather was lovely and the check in was quick and the receptionist was very helpful .Everyone was very cheery we had a very large pitch with plenty of room . The toilet block was very clean and the showers were free.
We found the nature walk perfect for the amble with the dog and for taking photos of bugs and butterflies which is my husbands hobby . We also walked part of the cuckoo trail which we found to be very busy with walkers, joggers and cyclists
The only down side was that we picked a Thursday night which was obviously the night for dog training at the village hall and the dogs were very noisy but it was only for about an hour and then calm reigned.
The site was very quiet and we had a very peaceful nights sleep . We would recommend this site we will certainly be going back soon
The cost of the nights stay for 2 adults and one dog (he went free) was £15.50

We have just spent a very chilled out weekend at this pretty site.
Facilities were spotless & lovely hot water for showers & washing up!
The owners of the site were on hand everyday & ice creams for sale in reception (much to my kids delight). There is also a cafe within walking distance offering a cooked breakfast & roasts on a Sunday if you fancied a break from cooking!
We were pitched on the first field on unallocated pitches it never felt closed in probably helped by the fact there were lots of humps & bumps which meant you couldn't pitch too close together.
Horam village is a short walk from the campsite & has shops, pubs, post office & fish & chip shop.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a lovely visit to this site. The location was beautiful and the fishing was excellent. The facilities at the site were more than adequate. It really poured down on the Saturday night, but the drainage of the site was excellent and the ground was bone dry the following morning. The toilets were clean and there was an ample supply of hot water. Some campers had used the gents toilet as a dump for the contents of their chemical facilities which caused a blockage, but within half an hour, this problem was sorted out by a member of staff. The staff themselves were very polite and helpful. I had brought along the wrong cable for the electric socket, but when I told the staff, they supplied me with the correct fixture.
The local village is quite picturesque and the local publican sold a decent pint of Guinness. Beware, the chip shop closes at 2100 hrs. Plenty of shopping in Heathfield, three miles away.
We will definitely be making return visits this year. I want the fish that broke my line.

Stayed at the site end of may, great site a little uneven but not a problem, good size pitches, staff always on hand.
Fishing on site was good don't need much gear just a rod reel and some bread.
Visited the horam inn great food and drink, friendly landlord. Also went to the may garland pub, I wont be going back in a hurry, flat beer and soft drinks, food ok but the staff need to cheer up and smile a bit.
We will be going back to the campsite, I really cant fault it. Loads to do and loads to visit

Stayed over Bank holiday weekend with friends on their initiation to caravans. Arriving on the Friday about midday to an almost empty site, they were directed to the lowest point in the first field. We witnessed their front wheel drive car struggle to manoeuvre their van on the fairly steep slopes of damp grass but warden was more than willing to break out their tractor and tow them to an alternate pitch in the second field.
Assistance and helpful advice was also given in orienting our vans together to make the most of our two adjacent and generously sized pitches. Second field gently slopes requiring levellers on every pitch. The site soon filled during Friday but the there were a few empty spots and because pitch sizes were so good it didn't seem too cramped. Many groups of campers noted with communal fires in late evening, though site very quiet after 1030.
Ablutions were sound and maintained reasonably clean but insufficient for the numbers of campers, queuing seemed to be the norm throughout the morning.
Horam Inn only a short walk is very dog friendly with good quality, reasonably priced food and excellent beer. Local golf course is recommended, a mature 9 hole with alternate tees to make the full 18, well kept. 5 hole pitch and putt for £4 all day is a hoot. Fishing on site if that's your bag and lots of things to do in the area. A small children's play area on site largely ignored in preference to the tree climbing opportunities. Large playing field next door is great for dog walking but not sure access is truly permitted. Would definitely consider returning.

First trip away in our new van for a one night test trip.
Site was fairly quiet, few tents and caravans. Welcome was warm and friendly and given a choice of pitches. The toilets and washing up area were spotless but with only a few campers they should be. There didn't seem many showers / wc's which could be a problem when site is full.
Walked through the 'manor' area, everything seemed closed so went to the pub instead! The Horam Inn was welcoming and the beer garden was lovely.
Overall a good basic site.
