The staff were very polite and easy to speak to. They listened and acted upon any questions. All the facilities were more than adequate. Very quit site in a lovely area. No shade for the tent, don't put your tent directly under an oak tree as they drop sticky sap on a hot day, soapy water removes it. Very big pitches. 10 fishing areas, good fishing £5 per day. Lots of woods to walk in. I have no problem returning to the site.

Very clean and tidy site. Hardstanding pitches ideal. Toilet block new and kept spotless by staff. Site shop limited supplies but local village has ample shops with pubs and take-aways if required within a short walking distance. Nearby tea rooms cum bar provides reasonably priced meals etc. We have visited several times during the 2013 season as an older couple and found all staff friendly, conversational and helpful. They also provide limited storage facilities for tourers and will site units as and when needed. The 1st field is ideal for adults and is generally quieter with a further larger field suited to families, safe and pleasant. We were treated well and recommend the site for all ages. Ideal location for the East Sussex Coast and countryside.

We stayed as a party of 24 (six families and a combination of tents and caravans) and had a great time. There were great facilities for the children, and they were able to explore on their own much of the time.
The grounds are very rural, with a lovely pond (fishing is recommended - all 12 children managed to catch a fish!) with a great good value cafe/ restaurant/ bar.
The shower facilities were fine - we were near the old shower block which was perfectly adequate - there is a new swanky one which I never felt the need to visit!
All in all we had an enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely bank holiday weekend here on the second field in May. The weather was generally kind although we managed to end up with a broken awning pole!
The site was clean and well run. The warden was a great help with manoeuvring the caravan. My children loved the play area, the horses in the woods next door and the cuckoo trail which is nearby.
We will definitely return sometime. I would say that at the end of the weekend we found we were one of only two units left in the camping field and as I was on my own with the children out of sight of the main area it did initially feel a little scary as there is no real lighting and they decided to close our toilet block. This is however minor. The other toilet block is much more modern and clean. The nearby café sold great food. Would recommend.

From the time we arrived, and met the couple who ran the site (by the way who were so friendly and knowledgeable) to the time of leaving, we had a fab time. There were great facilities for the kids, we hit the nature trail as soon as we got there, and cycled the cuckoo trail from Horam to Hailsham, the kids and dog were exhausted at the end of that day! The grounds are very rural, with a lovely pond (fishing is recommended - we all caught so that was even better!) with a great good value cafe/ restaurant/ bar.
The new shower facilities and toilets were lovely and were not far to wander over to.
We had a fab time and wouldn't hesitate to come back.
Thanks, Carol, Chloe, Kirstie, Jay & Marley the silly lab

We arrived in the rain on Friday afternoon, met with a friendly welcome at reception and were met at our pitch, I was asked if I needed any help in parking our unit, a very nice gesture on a rainy afternoon. However the all weather pitch was well laid out, level and a good size for a 25ft caravan and wasn't a problem.
The facilities were modern, very clean even considering the weather and a good size, we were all set up in no time. Fortunately the weather was very good for the rest of our stay, we enjoyed our visit to the lakes and the café and their prices seemed to be very reasonable.
We will most certainty be coming back and for a longer stay to explore further, it was great to visit a well managed, clean and first rate site that met it's description.

Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend. We had two adjacent pitches as stayed with family. We were located in the second field, pitches are large, although in my opinion not spaced out enough so you are definitely overlooked at all angles so def need windbreaks for privacy. However the outer pitches which were round the edges seemed better as they back on to woodland.
Staff very polite and made me laugh the way they wizz around on there bmx! toilets and showers were very clean and smelt fresh whenever I used them, the private wash cubicles are a good idea for teeth brushing etc. Also used the new toilet/shower block very nice and clean too the showers had better pressure here.
We did do the woodland walk on the sat which we all enjoyed there are different length walks to choose from we decided to do the longest took about 2 hours. The play area is good and well kept, there is another bigger park by the entrance of the campsite.
The site was rather full when we stayed so was quite noisy at night but only people chatting etc so didn't mind, generally quietened down by 11:30. The wardens did a walk round at 10:30 just to check all was well. I would return here but would request an outer pitch.

Got back yesterday from a 2 night stay. Overall would recommend the site though thought there could have been more showers for the size of the park.
The fishing was very good, as was the cafe, we enjoyed a nice steak meal sat eve for a good price, including a glass of wine. Only downside was the downhill pitch we were given, spent most of the 1st night clinging onto the edge of the blow up bed to stop rolling off. A good roller to flatten the ground out of season?
Lots of kids and a few barking dogs, but the wardens patrolled often to check up on noise etc.
Would use the site again.

This is our second visit to the site and was nice to see familiar faces. We were pitched in the second field this time (EHU). Our tent is about 7m and there was plenty of space for our table and chairs and even a splash pool for our son (6yrs)on mostly level ground.
The toilet/shower block was kept very clean and were even cleaned late at night ready for the morning rush! There was always plenty of hot water even though the site was practically full. (Though a bit more water pressure would be nice!). A new toilet/shower block in the first field has been built since last year and is lovely. It comes complete with combination locks.
This field has been landscaped and has pitches on several different levels with all weather pitches.
A small playground is compensated by a huge village green area adjacent to the site equipt with a larger play area and lots of open space for ball games and kite flying.
There is a choice of woodland walks on the estate along with 10 fishing lakes. There is a charge for the walks of £1 per person which you put into a 'Honesty Box'. But you could spend hours through the woods with a picnic so was worth it. The dog enjoyed it too.
A short walk to the village shops and a lovely fish and chip shop (freshly cooked on order). Only a 5min drive to Heathfield and there is a Sainsbury's store and Tesco Express.
We are planning on returning again next summer and have recommended this site to friends.

Returned again to this site in just under a month as found it very convenient, friendly staff and the we were impressed with the recent renovation work they have carried out.
We have stayed at Horam several times over the years, historically under canvas, but have always enjoyed our stay there.
Not a lot to do in Horam but we find this site is ideal for a weekend getaway. Good price, easy to get to, helpful staff and excellent facilities.
Massive play fields and a playground for the kids to run around.
Impressed with this years revamp of the first field, ideal for caravans and motorhomes alike.
