21st July 2004 Our first ever camping trip in our new trailer tent.Lovely campsite. Very quiet as holiday season hadn't started yet but can imagine it would be very noisy in the height of the season. Every thing was very clean. Only 2 faults I had was reception was closed from 12.30 - 1.30pm and we got there at 12-35 so had to wait round but the security man did let us onto the pitch as I knew what one i had been given. If I hadnt known i would have had to wait round for an hour which would have been a pain. The other fault was no soap anywhere in any of the toilets. But as we are new campers we were told that you have to take your own into the toilets which was ok. Then we went to the bar in the evening and went to the loo and no soap in there either. Nothing on walls ie. soap dispensers and no soap anywhere to be seen. I thought this a bit bad as the bar sold chocolate and crisps so surely they should provide soap in the toilet? Are you expected to carry your own soap to the bar as well? Other than that everything was very nice. They had a Smokey Joes diner takeaway and the food was lovely, couldn't fault it and everyone in our party complemented the owner and the prices were reasonable too considering it is a holiday place. Our electric hook up pitch Tentspace was fine. Didn' find any problems as we didn' have anyone near us. The new toilet block is now open and was 50 metres away from us and was always empty when I eeded a shower. The showers were free in here and were always hot but did have notice saying that they may go cold first thing in morning and early evening but if anything they were too hot at times. May be different when it' the height of the season. If you want constantly hot water at these times in the height of the season there are 2 other shower blocks that charge you 10p. Couldnt really fault anything else as everything was clean and people were helpful. There is cctv on site. The pool area is nice although pool a little small but lovely and warm and could get overcrowded in the height of the season but we had no problems. We were near the road but heard no noise from traffic in the night. A lovely site and i would return in the low/mid season as i think it would get too packed in the high season for me.

3 July 2004 Lovely site, really clean showers toilets etc, all round park. Small, but quite well stocked shop, (no papers or magazines etc though). Park area was great for the kids. There are 2 tent fields, one is more sheltered than the other, the non- sheltered field is also under electricity pylons, and right next to road. Take your own food, as on site take-away wasn't fantastic. Had a great stay, and look forward to a return visit. Recommend happily!

June 2004 A lovely well equipped campsite with all you need for a great stay. There is a very nice outside pool, amusement arcade, bar and shop on site and it has a real holiday camp feel. Nice friendly owners and plenty of room in the touring field. The facilities are very clean, however there are no draining boards in the washing up room only sinks with wooden shelves so it would be an idea to take some sort of draining rack with you. We will definately return to the site but will stay longer next time to enjoy the pool.

Late May Bank Holiday 2004 The campsite is clean and tidy, we didn't book and they were happy to give us a tent pitch for one night with no hookup, paid £2.00 each for 2 dogs £18 for pitch. The playgrounds are good for kids and the pool is small but central, kids must have adult supervision whatever level of swimming ability. Field was very dry and hard to peg, places small, tripped over wires etc. There are no clear instructions as to where to pitch and it is not well marked. The showers were clean but not always hot.

July 2003 I took myself and my 2 kids for a weekend here in that hot summer of 2003. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the play area in the camp field and the heated outdoor swimming pool. The entertainment was good in the clubhouse with something different every night. My only gripes were that the shop on site didn't seem to have much in provision. The other gripe was that although the camping field was flat the ground was absolutely rock solid and dry and it took me more than 1/2 the day trying to peg the tent. So if you go in summer, make sure you take some extra pegs just in case. Other than that the facilities were very good in the washrooms and toilets and were clean and spacious. Good base for exploring the south coast, but not for a quiet life, I dont think!

august 2003 Good clean site with a new shower and toilet block. There was a big area to play games. The tents were close together but you could get a car next to your tent. The pool was small but the site is close to beaches and the coast.
There is limited hot food available so take a b-b-que. Birchington has lots of take aways if needed and overall this is a very good site and would use again.
It is worth a visit to Manston Air and Spitfire Museum which is close by even if you are not an avid fan.

July 2003 Lovely facilities and the children loved the pool although it was quite full even when we went. Not much in the way of food laid on but a BBQ sorts that out. We went slightly out of season and it was smashing. It is very well set up for the local beaches etc.

July 2003 Very nice clean and friendly site. Pool not as big as it seems in the picture, clubhouse just like a pub, no entertainment as such although they did have a pub quiz! But saying that it was a very nice site and i would visit again.Ideal for a quite, relaxing holiday.

June 2003 I visited Two Chimneys with my wife three children (5,5,1) and two dogs. Reception was efficient. The tent field is very large with about half mapped out with pitches. In this field it was possible to play football, cricket and also make good use of the adventure playground which was good fun for the children. We made good use of the facilities - shower, washing up and chemical disposal - which were clean and maintained to a good standard. We also made good use of the on site swimming pool. We walked the dogs on the adjacent farmers field which was close and offered them a reasonable stretch. Overall we enjoyed the stay. The facilities were good quality and the location is just outside of Margate. The only thing I would consider before going back would be that if we were to book at a busier time that the existing facilities might struggle to cope with the numbers. In the current shower block there were a couple of showers, and there was a wait to wash up. We visited the pool twice and in the afternoon it was hectic. Allowing for the fact that the site wasn't that busy this might show that it could deteriorate if there were more people on site. There is a new shower/toilet/washing up block which had yet to open which will increase the facilities available and no doubt ease the pressure somewhat

May 2003 A well situated camp site. Site staff were helpful on every occasion. Extremely clean toilet/shower facilities. The pool area was clean, although could become crowded during summer months. The bar area was a little small for the size of the site and became quite smokey when full.
The children's play areas were of a good standard and well used by the children on our visit.
We camped in the largest field which, if full, would be overcrowded. There would be insufficient space between you and those camping in front/behind for cars to pass up and down the lines. Having said that we visited on a bank holiday weekend and there was more than enough room for rounders, football and frisbee (at the same time)!
Don't miss a visit to the Powell-Cotton Museum.
