Good, often cleaned toilet blocks, though hot water runs out at peak times. Large pitches with plenty of room plus play areas for kids. Small shop but runs out of basics bread, papers etc at busy times. Clean but busy pool. Good local facilities Ramsgate etc though Margate rather run down these days. Reception staff a little aloof as said they were very busy but we had paddock to ourselves! Also asked us to phone if we were going to be later than 5pm checking in, which we did but as the phone was answered by a 'young' adult the message didn't get through

Two Chimneys is a very pleasant and appealing caravan/touring park. On arrival the entrance is very clean with beautiful flower borders all kept up together. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Each day there were grounds staff emptying bins and generally keeping the site lovely and clean. The clubhouse was very good, the noise was kept to a minimum so as not to disturb early sleepers. The swimming pool was impressive, lovely and clean with a little pool for tots. The on site shop is well equipped and reasonably priced too. The toilet block was sufficient for the numbers of campers there at the time but if site was fully booked then I think you would struggle to get a shower when you wanted one. They were kept very clean. One small detail that was really needed was to have some soap at the sinks, there wasn't any, and if you wanted just to nip to the loo it became a chore. The actual touring park was spacious. The pitches were a good size with plenty of room for children to play. Quite alot of the pitches had electric hook ups and the water taps were easy to find. The play park was sufficient for what our children wanted but it would have been nice to have a few more play things for the under 5s. The location was very good, not too far off the beaten track. Birchington itself is not far away and is very pleasant, there are a couple of small supermarkets. Beaches are ok. The one we liked the best was called Minnis Bay, very easy to park, toilet facilities and a small cafe. Margate is close by but we were not at all impressed by it. We were disappointed with how run down it looked and it was very grubby. Ramsgate is worth a visit, a very pretty place. Dover wasn't far, only about 40 mins, worth going to if you want to visit Dover Castle or take a trip across to France. Howletts Zoo is definitely worth a visit and not too expensive either. All in all we enjoyed our holiday in Kent and especially at Two Chimneys, we would definitely stay at this park again and would recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from ten days at Two Chimneys. Great site with spotless shower and toilet block facilities ( as mentioned the main shower block sometimes runs out of hot water at peak times so we used the showers in the smaller blocks and never had any problem ), good playground and pool facilities , entertainment on in the bar every night , we have a small baby but noise was never an issue although it's worth noting that a busier than expected road runs along one side of the main field, nothing problematic in our view but if you are very easily disturbed would be worth requesting a pitch in a different area. A great base from which we were able to visit Broadstairs , Margate, Caterbury, Dover etc etc We would recommend to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights and this is a very well thought out site with excellent facilities. However, I didn't manage to have a hot shower during my two days stay. Although there are signs saying that hot water runs out at busy times, I think there must be a problem with the hot water to the showers as I went one morning at 6.30am, and if the hot water had run out by this time then they need to increase the capacity of the hot water tank - also the hot water to the sinks at this point was scalding! This would be a great site for families as it is pretty all inclusive and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is quite pricey though - £22 for a tent - the most I've ever paid! I probably would stay again though as it is close to my family and probably one of the best sites in the area.

Second camping expedition what an excellent site I think we are being spoilt by UKcampsite.co.uk. At about 4pm on Friday evening I phoned Two Chimneys on the off chance for any vacancies I was told there was available space we arrived at about 7pm the very helpful staff booked us in and showed us where to pitch (£67 for 2 adults, 1 car, 1 tent inc. Hook up for 3 nights June 2007). The first impression of the site was that it is so clean, so on with the job of pitching the tent as it’s the second time it was easier… the ground was soft so no trouble putting the pegs in. We did forgot which way the tent went around and in effect put it up with the main door facing the fence still we had another entrance so it wasn’t really a problem.Used the bar on Friday evening and just caught the last half of an England game on the large screen TV. I was told they had the free-view channels if you are into other sports…Saturday was nice and hot, the swimming pool was in constant use there were a few sun loungers near the pool. I think it would get very busy at peak times. The pool area was kept clean and the pool itself looked clean and well maintained, although not tested by us. The bar opened at 7pm until midnight. Bingo was at 7.30pm on the Friday and Saturday evening of our stay if that’s your thing. The prices in the bar were reasonable less than the local pub. The bar didn’t open on Sunday or Thursdays. The toilets were very clean as were the washing up facilities, I saw a member of staff clean both thoroughly after the peak usage. The showers were hot and also spotless, for those with hair a hairdryer was available f. O.c.The small site shop sold essentials and there was also a small games/amusement room available for use.The site was quiet after 10:30pm although you could hear the disco until 11pm not to inconvenient or noisy though just worth a mention. We were able to pitch near the toilet and shower block I think if the site is busy during peak times it could be a bit of a distance from some pitches. The food snack bar opens at 9am till 2pm then again about 6pm until 10pm maybe later during peak times the Thai Chicken Curry (Sourced by a genuine Indian restaurant in nearby Broadstairs) (£4.50) well worth it, they even have Kobe burgers at £15 (not tested or tasted by us.)The Jolly Farmer Pub about 3 miles from the site in Manston good food and very pleasant staff. There’s a large supermarket (Tesco extra) about a 10 minute drive away and there’s a 24 hour petrol station with a shop about a 5 minute drive away for those forgotten essentials and the early morning paper! I would defiantly recommend The Two Chimneys site and will most certainly be going back!

We spent a wet bank holiday weekend here as part of a group of campers. The pitches are large, clean, flat and laid out well, the ball area is large and the playground looked nice. Even with a lot of rain it was only on the last day that the pitches started to puddle which is a positive. There are notices on the showers to warn you that the hot water will run out at peak times when the site is full and it does but if the site is not full the showers are lovely. The "games room" was overshadowed by too many slot machines. We used the swimming pool on the last day as it had been very busy but it is a bonus in wet weather as it is covered. The bar was warm and had activities on several nights. There are electricity pylons running straight through the site. We visited Whitstable which is nice. Canterbury is also interesting and has loads of shops as well as historic things to see. Margate has seen better days but on a nice day has a lovely beach. Broadstairs is lovely to walk round and Deal, Dover and Hever Castles are well within reach. There are some good pubs locally and a Spitfire Museum. We were lucky enough to see the Spitfire fly while we were there. A good site for exploring locally if you don't want to be in the car all day.

We stayed for the bank hols for a few days. A nice clean site with helpful staff. A nice pool area thats kept nice. The bar was handy being near the pool. The food in Smokeys Diner was really nice if you dont fancy cooking, which we dont a lot and the menu had lots of choice, try the authentic Thai curry, simply delicious. We will return and hope the weathers as nice as it was this weekend. Here's hoping and happy camping.

Having brought our "mobile Timeshare" at the end of the season we wanted to test it out before the season ended so we booked our last possible weekend at two chimneys. The site was very quiet at this time of year but we were impressed by the cleanliness of the club house with a nice bar, pool table and a few coin operated machines. Unfortunately the heated pool was out of order but it was too cold to try it out anyway. The snack bar was shut as it was late in the season. There was a small playground for children but I understand that there is a second 1 that we did not see on site. The location is good for a trip to Hewlett's zoo although Birchington town centre is a bit too far to walk to in order to get your fish and chips back before they get cold. All in all we liked the site but look forward to visiting when the weather is warmer and all the facility's are open. It was a good weekend to test the weather resistance of the camper.

What a strange site! We actually saw NO site staff from the moment we got there and paid - so I actually joked "why did we bother paying at all as no-one knows we are here!" (not that I'm advocating you sneak on - but you know what I mean.).
The site is pretty big and not overly cramped - plenty of amenities but wash-up was busy but nicely designed (just love those butlers sinks!). Snack bar ok. Pool 'average' but no lifeguard.
Good green site - plenty of room for the kids to escape and play, roads nearby are a touch 'race track' and we can recommend a visit to the nearby Aircraft museums (2 of them) while also admiring the planes at the airport.
The site is well placed to get to places - Margate (needs regeneration badly!), Ramsgate and Dover, etc, all within driving distance - though we recommend Broadstairs and Cliftonville which are a lot less commercialised.
Oh - Tesco's is nearby for all your shopping and fuel needs.
Not a site we would rush back to - but definitely one to consider if you're heading for Dover and want a one-night stop over.
