We only live round the corner but we love camping, we thought we would try it out as we have a 7 year old and a 2 year old and the youngest hasn't camped before so we thought we would see how she would find it and if she didn't like it I could go home with her. I agree with the comments about the clubhouse being 'clicky' so we quickly made an exit from that area. None of the machines worked properly in the amusements section and we lost a few pounds in them. The pool was lovely we went when it just opened so it wasn't madness, and the pitches were spacious and the park and grounds were nice. However, my biggest disgruntle was the fact that in the new section you have around 100 pitches and the toilet block has 3 toilets and 5 showers. Not good queuing for the toilet with a 2 year old! They needed another two of these blocks on site at least. People were washing in the toilet using the sink as all the showers were busy, which then made queuing for the toilet even worse. Sort the toilet and shower facilities out and this will be a lovely place to stay. Especially when it is expensive at £24 per night for a basic pitch.

Have stayed Here before as campers in a large group and caravaners alone, and have never been disappointed before, the toilets were not as clean, unwanted belongings staying in the showers for days!, these were previously excellent and were closed daily for thorough cleaning. (? Time of year as not very busy)The swimming pool, although lovely has a large element of dive bombing and mouthy youngsters, who are never told off as we have seen in previous years over a loud speaker- excellent! ( the hot tub needs a decent shot of defoamer in it as the foam was quite thick- oil from peoples skin etc!) but this was clean and well maintained. Play areas excellent, food fantastic and good value at little 'hut'. We have been aware of the clicky atmosphere in the site club, as mentioned by others, but have not been bothered by it, saying that it does restrict your stay there!
However, we would return as it is a nice large, clean and safe site, undergoing a lot of redevelopment, the staff have always been cheerful and helpful, and although it is expensive if you don't use all the facilities, we have recommended it to many who in turn have enjoyed their stays!

We stayed here for a long weekend at the end of July with mixed reviews. We had stayed here a couple of years ago but never in high season. Again the pitches are large with lots of room for the kids to play, park was very close by and so were the toilets.
The children had a fantastic time in the swimming pool, this is definitely a pool for children and teenagers so be prepared to get splashed!
We thought we would like a go in the hot tub but after seeing the murkey foam on top we thought better of it! Our main complaints were the toilets, very cramped in high season and really not very clean!
They seemed to get destroyed in the evening when the clubhouse got going. I saw a wet tissue fight going on with the toilet cubicle left wrecked, I went in the following morning only to find two toilets working as the rest had been blocked up with toilet roll.
The other problem was every morning we were woken up at 6:30 am with children outside playing and shouting.
It's such a shame about these two things as it is such a lovely site and brilliant for children, it's central to attractions and beaches such as the lovely Joss Bay!
A couple of years ago the clubhouse wasn't the big attraction like it is now and to be honest I don't think it has done any favours for the site, just seems to cause trouble on the site instead. We would like to go back but these problems definitely put us off!

I have only stayed one night so not a too in-depth review. Facilities are good, swimming pool looked lovely and not busy. Showers very clean. Site very quiet after about 9.
Children loved the play area's. Will be visiting again.
Only thing to moan about is not being able to get telly signal when I normally can. Shame the weather wasn't better, but that's England for you.
I didn't find any hot food places open but maybe I was too early or looking in the wrong place? McDonalds was fairly local luckily.

Just returned from weekend at 2 chimneys.
Overall a good experience on a very windy weekend. The weather didn't spoil the kid's fun, but set a few challenges in pitching and striking. Apparently it's windy there most of the time even though it's not right on the coast.
Good, level EHU pitch close to the main reception/swimming pool etc. Facilities were plentiful as mentioned previous.
The showers are certainly clean enough and so are the washing up facilities.
The kids really enjoyed staying here as they had plenty of space to explore, lots of other kids around and it was very safe.
The site has a good balance for them of letting them have freedom to roam and cycle etc. As long as they behave and finish by 9pm, which is fair.
The only reservation I have is with regards to the resident static unit owners. They seemed to be the ones who were policing the kids, sometimes a bit heavy-handedly in my view, and they made the clubhouse very 'clicky'. I used the clubhouse to watch the England vs Switzerland football match in the evening and ended up having a fairly pointless confrontation with one of them which made me think that I would keep away from the clubhouse if I was ever to return.
Explaining my experience to my campsite neighbour, she said that they had a similar view of the clubhouse and static owners there.
I would return as the kids have put this site in our 'top 5 campsites' and afterall it's the kids that I like to please on our travels.

We visited this site for the first time on a bank holiday weekend. We were checked in at reception and given a map showing our pitch. The reception staff very very helpful and friendly.
Our pitch was spacious on what I would describe as a relatively new area of the site. The new toilet and shower block wasn't quite finished but was open and clean.
The wardens were very visible in the evenings patrolling the site and enforcing that the rules were abided by. We had been given a mobile number for the wardens should we incur a problem when reception was closed.
The play areas were great and the whole site was very clean and tidy.
The pool was a bit disappointing as the lifeguards didn't really enforce the safety rules and so children were jumping in and causing havoc.I imagine that off peak the pool would have been quite enjoyable.
One of the real plus points for us was the proximity to Manston Airport as our 5 year old enjoyed the coming and going of the many planes and helicopters and we were lucky enough to see the Red Arrows flying in and out. The RAF Museum at Manston is a hidden gem on a colder/wetter day.
Would definitely go back.

Royal Wedding weekend and our first camping trip of the year saw us going back to Two Chimneys for my 4th time, taking with us this time a couple experiencing camping for the first time. We chose to stay in the small top field which is more secluded and quieter. The shower block here looked as if it had been recently decorated and was always clean with plenty of hot water. Pitches are large and flat with room for the kids to play ball games in middle of field, although quite a way from any of the 3 playgrounds (but my kids are old enough to go off on their own.) We used and enjoyed the pool and the hot tub that has been added since my last stay. They are currently developing the field behind for further camping with new shower block and playground which looks like it will be good.
We all had a lovely time here and no doubt we will be back some time.

Went to the Two Chimneys for the weekend before the kids went back to school. Haven't been there since I was a child. I took my family boy age6 girl 3. We had a great weekend.
Shower block could have been cleaner but still ok. Glad we didn't go at the hight of the season as only 3 showers in the block close to our tent and the other one was quite a walk away.
Swimming pool was lovely. Pitch could have been a bit bigger, but we do have a large tent. All in all will go back for another weekend at some point. Fish and chip shop not far in Birchington. Large Tesco and Asda with loads of big stores not far too. We go to Joss bay beach. If you park on the road its free to park all day.

We stayed on the site over the very busy August bank holiday weekend. We arrived on site and found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful. The pitches were very spacious and the campsite was very accommodative of our request to pitch so we were facing our friends in the next pitch.
The campsite was very clean and tidy with no rubbish at all. The same goes for the facilities such as the toilet block. These were basic but clean and with hot showers what more do you need.
The shop was quite basic but you are only few minutes away from a massive tesco and asda near the Westwood cross shopping centre.
The swimming pool was a bit of a let down as was very cold and the water don't appear to be that clean and the chlorine in there was very strong. The Hot tub was nice when it was working which was only once over the weekend.
Overall a nice site and certainly one I would return to although possibly a bit pricey for what it actually offers.

We stayed here for the August bank holiday weekend to try out our new tent.
The site was extremely busy and the pitches felt crowded.
Both toilets and showers were filthy by lunchtime everyday and didn't seem to be cleaned again until the following morning.
Playground is good for small children, my 6 yr old enjoyed it in there.
Swimming pool was extremely disappointing, it was so crowded that there was no room to swim or play with kids bombing in and no parents in sight looking after some of them. The water was so cloudy you couldn't see your feet!
The clubhouse was quite 'clicky' with the residents of the static vans making campers feel quite unwelcome so we only had one drink and left to the amusement arcade which was very hot.
When I complained (by letter) about the weekend to the campsite the following Monday I was told and I quote 'I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, fortunately we have many happy customers who do and will be back to visit us regularly'. Well I certainly hope they do have loyal customers, I, however, will not be one of them!
