Recently stayed here having visited the site a number of times but never having stayed. Was a little disappointed with the facilities in the Laburnum Grove camping section. The toilet block has no where to hang anything and was dirty on more than one occasion. We even had cause to phone reception and complain. The site was not even busy, so there really was no excuse. The toilet block has automatic taps and hand dryers that frequently activate as you use the narrow facilities which is very annoying as you either end up wet or wind swept.

We have just returned from 3 days at the site in flaming June. It felt like a hurricane hit the site with the eye of the storm around our tent. We woke up to find our next door neighbours tent literally flat on the ground and abandoned.
Good points:
1. Excellent swimming pool. Heated and actually warm.
2. Lots of play areas for the kids
3. A nice clubhouse that was clean and appeared newly refurbished.
4. No issues with electrics
5. No noise (other than the wind)
6. Staff
7. Clean. No rubbish on the ground, showers everything.
Bad Points:
1. The pitch we were originally given (40). This is situated directly opposite a bin area that is at the rear of a shower block. Who wants their outlook to be a bin area? This is a big site with decent spaces between pitches to maintain a fire break. They can afford to lose pitches like this or have them as a 'take it or leave it' type option for people who just turn up. Fortunately, and possibly due to the weather it was not a problem moving us.
2. Hooks / Shelving. These must be really expensive because I couldn't find one for love nor money in the shower block near us. You want to brush you teeth and put you shower bag down or hang up your towel. You have the option of. The floor. Having said this there is a new shower block near the diner 'Laburnham Grove'. This was excellent with hotter showers and hooks (i do not have a thing for hooks).
The area:
We know the area reasonably well.
- Margate needs lots of money spent on it but the local council seem to have got hung up on trying to rescue the long since burned down theme park Dream Land. We visited the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery. Our 4yr old ran amok with a blue crayon (supplied by the Art Gallery). If your into Tracy Emin or Turner then its worth a visit. Our daughter couldn't get her head around the fact that there's a bed with a stick on it.
- Ramsgate has a great beach and very pretty harbour.
- Hornby visitors Centre - A family ticket was £10. Its only something that will last an hour tops but the kids get to play with a Scalectrix and look at lots of trains. You then get to spend lots of money in the shop.

Just got back from possibly the wettest windiest 3 day camping trip ever. Been to this site before in 2010. Since then an additional shower/toilet block have been put up.
We always found them to be clean, most showers are push button, but if you use the family shower block near the laundrette they are normal showers that you can control the temp which is helpful as my younger kids didn't like the other showers as they got too warm for them.
They have at least 3 playgrounds for the kids, as the weather was so yuk my kids spent most of their time in the pool.
We only went to the bar once very expensive (but there was 9 of us). Shop was well equiped prices aren't too bad. But you have at least 3 main supermarkets within a 10 min drive.

The site:
The site is quite large, Ramsgate is quite close and there is a large Tesco about 5 minutes away.
The pitches:
The pitches are a good size with the electric hook up right behind the caravan/tent.
The showers / toilets:
On the field that we were on there were lots of pitches but only 3 toilets and 4 showers. I'm sure that in low season this isn't a problem but in the summer I can see there being lots of queues for the facilities and the showers do get cold after one shower so I wouldn't like to queue. There is no seating/bench area in the shower so don't take in what you don't need to and maybe take a stool if you are showering young children with you.
The swimming pool:
The pool is good, there is a pool for swimming, a baby pool and a hot tub. There is only 1 changing room, one shower and one toilet which were often very wet so you have to get changed at your caravan/tent. There are rules in the swimming pool, you know the sort of thing, No bombing, No diving etc. All of these rules were not adhered to at all and the amount of people that are allowed in was far too many for one lifeguard to keep an eye on.
The evening entertainment:
We only went once in the week that we were there. On the night that we went it was a magic night. The man doing the magic didn't really gel with the audience, he looked very nervous and didn't seem to be enjoying being there.
In conclusion:
The site is ok but 4/5 days is enough. We would not return to this site as we have seen all that it can offer.

We love Two Chimneys for when you want more than the wilder campsites have to offer.
The swimming pool is a big plus as can be open or closed and is always very warm, with a sun deck type area outside when hot.
There are three playgrounds for the kids and a large green space for them to play football/cricket etc or to ride their bikes around, (which a lot of kids do around the caravans)
If you like a clubhouse, you have one. We don't so didn't go in!
The showers are usually warm but can get rather grassy towards the end of the day.
The location of this site is perfect for the Thanet beaches. Our favourite is Minnis Bay but we love Broadstairs too.
The kids love this site-we aren't so keen as prefer places like Forgewood and Merry Lands. Good if you have younger kids, (say 4 and under) as there is a launderette to get things clean and dry and stuff for them to do.
Worth a visit but quite commercial. No fires allowed which is a downside for us as is an integral part of our usual camping experience.

We have just come back from a 4 night stay. We had a very enjoyable time. The pitch size was great as we have a large family tent.
The showers and toilets were always clean and tidy and had good disabled facilities if needed, We didn't need to queue at all for showers, but I don't know what it would be like in the busier periods as there were 3 showers and 1 disabled shower in a block. But there were 2 other blocks to shower but didn't go in these.
The play areas and Swimming pool was fantastic, the children had great fun. Washing up area was good and we liked the draining racks that were there.
My Husband managed to get a newspaper every morning he just needed to order it at reception the day before. The staff were always polite and helpful.
We went to the hurricane and spitfire museum at manston which was free and was very intresting and there was an RAF museum opposite which was cheap to go in as well.
We would return to this site again in the future.

We have Just visited, Nice site but badly managed. 1 caravan 4 tents and a camper van. The problem we had is the electrics for part of the site we were on kept blowing almost every hour at least and could be out for an hour or so, as we had a baby this was a problem. As we were in a caravan at least we had battery power to fall back on but our friends didn't.
There are not enough toilets for the size of the site, they also were not very clean and there was no mop in there which you normally find on a site so you can mop after use so the floor was dirty.
Being a large group we did not have a problem with the club house being cliquey but I could see how it could be if you were just one family visiting.
We had a good time because of the friends we were with not the site.
We would not go back which is a shame because this could be a really nice site and spacious pitches but there are just too many other things going against it.

This was our first trip away with our new caravan, and from the booking process this site is definitely very good.
Despite reviews we found the club house to be fine and not 'clicky' as mentioned before, the toilets were always very clean and hot water available when needed.
The site seemed very clean and we never saw any rubbish anywhere.
The swimming pool was a nice addition for the kids and the hot tub for the adults,
The shop had a good amount of supplies although no newspapers.
We visited a few places near by, manston airport is within 5 minutes drive, as are most places very close by, although it seems like you are in the middle of the country you are close to places like westwood cross shopping.
There is also a bus that comes into the park to take you in to margate, but if you don't want to cook or go off site there is a kind of burger van offering things like pie and mash etc (mash was a supprise to see on the menu as well as the normal chips)
There are 2 play parks which also cater well for all ages and coming 2012 is a 9 hole golf course
If I was to say 1 bad thing it would be the price of the wireless internet £9 for 4 hours I think it was, I think this should be free at all parks.
All being well we will definitely return to this park

We made a last minute decision to camp here for a night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The site itself was very spacious, and generous pitch sizes meant our 8-man tent fitted in without any problems.
Our pitch was in sight of two play areas which were both well-equipped to keep both our 1 and 5 year olds occupied. The toilets and showers were clean with plenty of hot water, and the swimming pool was fantastic, with a main pool, teaching pool and spa to keep the whole family occupied!
The beach was only a short drive away, and the site is also close to the Westwood Cross shopping centre.
A great stay, and definitely one to add to our favourites!

Have just returned from a 5 night stay at Two Chimneys. This was our first visit to Two Chimneys and our first visit to Kent.
The campsite was good (well run, most facilities were good, great on-site shop etc). There is a swimming pool that looked good, we didn't try it though.
The pitches are spacious and flat and the campsite is generally relaxing and pleasant to stay on.
The only slight negative was that out of my three showers during my stay none of them were warm. Not great especially when the weather is cold-ish and you want to warm up!
The toilet areas apart from this are fine though; lots of toilets and they are kept clean. It costs 20p to use the hairdryer and it stays on for about 10 minutes.
The campsite has a take away which we used twice and we enjoyed our food from there, and it was also very reasonable in price. We didn't go to the evening entrainment but it seemed popular with other campers, and it was only noisy on the bank holiday weekend.
As for supermarkets there is a very large sainsburys and tescos about 10 minute drive away in Manston. There are quite a few large shops and superstores here. There is also a vue cinema and a Toby Carvery which we used.
We thought the Thanet area (Margate, ramsgate and broadstairs) looked very appealing from our internet research, however in reality it failed to impress us and as such we spent a lot of our holiday travelling to nicer areas in the kent area.
This included Canterbury, Folkstone, Herne Bay and Whitstable (I would recommend visiting those places). Margate and Ramsgate seem quite run down; crowded housing areas on route to the beach, closed down shops near the beach area etc etc.
We didn't really get that lovely holiday feeling when visiting these places. The beaches at broadstairs also disappointed. Small, poor sea quality, lots of flies and foamy sand. It was a great shame because it looked so lovely on the tourism website.
We were planning on cycling the Viking coastal trail but changed our mind based on the fact the thanet area wasn't very pleasing in appearance.
Overall, the campsite is good, very good for children as it has good play areas. We wouldn't stay again, but that isn't because of the campsite, it is just because the area wasn't nice enough in our opinion to go for a long holiday.
