Well arrived at this site at midday, this is the earliest check-in, to a very busy carpark of people arriving and leaving. Walked to reception to check in and upon arrival all looked very nice, swimming pool was busy and looked nice, shop well stocked.
Given our pitch, electric one, and found it but was rather on the small side as it was in a corner surrounded by other caravans and mobile homes so went back to reception who had no problems at all in moving us. Eventually found new pitch, area names could be larger :), and what a lovely pitch it was and area. Sun was shining and we got our tent up.
Didn't fancy cooking so went to the on site food van and had 2 kids meals, £2.50 each, chips £1 and cheesy chips £1.50 (these were very nice with proper cheddar!).
Facilities are very good, hot showers, nice clean toilet areas apart from muddy floors but to be expected when walking around with shoes on, lots of open space and play areas for children and entertainment on in the clubhouse in the day and evening.

Great site, well kept and very clean, toilet and shower blocks cleaned several times a day. Nice small pool that was Adults only between 9&10am each day.
Great location for anyone wishing to visit this part of the country, some lovely small beaches in the area, can recommend Joss Bay for beginner surfers!
Short drive gets you to Ramsgate / Whitstable / Herne Bay / Margate / Minnis Bay / Minster / Canterbury.
Would definitely return!

Just returned after 4 days at two chimney and the only thing that put a dampener on things was the weather. The site was brilliant, we took 5 kids 3 under 5, a 10yr old and 2 15yr olds they all meet other kids on the park and had a great time.
The only thing I would say is take bottled water, it may of just been my lot but we all thought the drinking water tasted yuk! my son said the swimming pool water tasted better and he should know he spent most of his free time there.
The staff are helpful and friendly and the warders are around at night to check the noise level. Shop is basic, if you can get there asdas and tescos are 10 mins up the road. Take cash as the is nowhere to get cash from

1st time visit to this site, found it to be average. Pitches were narrow, not possible to leave a 3m firebreak between pitches as requested. Swimming pool was a joke (for the adults anyway) as the kids don't care about water quality. It was very cloudy and tasted of salt water ! The main wc/showerblock showers are too small, you have to change in a communal area and then get into the cubicle to shower, leaving your clothes/valuables out of sight. One hook on back of shower door for clothes, towel/wash bag etc not enough if you decide to undress in privacy. Water was warm enough though. Biggest problem is that the showers(mens)are in the same building as the urinal and the toilets (traps) so all you can smell is. Well you get the idea. Came out of the shower feeling a bit smelly ! The family shower block near to the fountain were spot on though. Some lower urinals and sinks for kids would be a nice touch.
Washing up area was big enough but the sinks are too small, the taps interfere with the washing area, the water is so hot it scalds you and the draining racks are above you (about 6ft high) so all the water drips down onto you, can't understand the logic there. I am being a bit picky, I know, but at 27 pounds a night I would expect better. The area is the real bonus for this site, loads to do and see. 2 co ops in the village and plenty of bakers/pubs. Manston has some great aircraft sights and Minnis Bay is great. Would recommend Crazy Golf in Broadstairs (Victoria Parade)

Stayed on a decent sized electric pitch in a tent. Long walk to the toilet block. Fairly clean showers but hot water was a bit hit & miss! swimming pool was small but not too crowded although the changing facilities were inadequate. Small shop on site but quite expensive and not a lot of choice. Large tesco only a few miles down the road anyway so not too much of a problem. Wardens patrol in the evening to ensure noise is kept to a minimum but there were quite a lot of unruly teenagers who thought warden dodging was a great game! Wverall we had a good time but I would probably not go back.

This is the second year we've visited this site due to the facilities available for our Grandson, 3 playing areas with climbing frames and an indoor / outdoor pool with an adult hot tub for the over 18's If you want a peaceful break forget this site.
It's very child friendly and constantly noisy. The pitches are a suitable size with larger pitches available if required. Please be aware if your in a Tent, although the site is well secluded it's situated in the middle of open farmland and the wind may play a big part when pitching.
The people who run this site are on top of everything, especially keeping the Shower/Toilet blocks clean. The only downside of this site is the prices at the Bar. If you have a couple of kids, 'it aint gonna be cheap'! and the entertainment isn't that great.
That said, a great place to stay if you wish to explore different places.I.E Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Canterbury, all within easy reach.

This site was over priced for its facilities. The small pool was murkey and the larger one far too small for the amount of pitches on the site.
The facilities were over-stretched all day long and in consequence always appeared unclean. The shop was basically full of sweets (one fridge crammed) and pop. Very little staples in stock.
Would not use the site again. Really is for families who do not mind roughing it. The site is not far from main shopping centre but a car /transport is required.
Lots of static vans all very nicely kept with shower blocks hardly used. Field went back a long way, glad we did not get a place at very back as it got worse the further away your were. No facilities at all beyond the electric hook up points apart from a tap on motor home service point.

My partner, sister, brother in law and myself took our children here from Friday until Sunday, there were 6 children all in all ranging from 2years old up to 12years.
Like you I read the reviews as my sister had been here 5years ago but, we wanted to make sure it hadn't gone 'down hill'. Firstly if you haven't got children this campsite probably isn't the one for you as its very child based.
The reviews that I had read to be honest didn't make it sound over appealing but, due to my partner wanting to give it ago I went along with it. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised please don't listen to half of these reviews as they sound like people expecting the ritz when to be honest its camping and should be just fun.
We phoned ahead as the park booking in system stopped at 7pm and we was going to be slightly late to which the lady we spoke to was very helpful and very polite saying not to worry and they waited for us to arrive which was a worry off of my mind as I'm nearly always on time and hate being late, we was given a well detailed map and told where to go and where to pitch up. The ground was big and we even had room to park of course your going to be put near other tents I mean come on I looked on some of these reviews and people were moaning about being close to someone else's tent your not on-top of your neighbour anything but to be honest.
The showers were fine, I walked in with my two daughters 6 and 9, it was warm. There was a shared changing area but the showers were hot and clean. As we are all girls my girls were happy to get changed then pop into the shower. There is a notice on the wall and door stating that during peak hours there will be a short supply in hot water but it just needs to warm back up again so will be ready to use in 5mins not a massive problem. Its just like having a bath at home and using all the hot water before my partner has one lol
The shop does sell milk, bread etc but take cash. On some reviews the pool has been stated to have to much chlorine but my girls and nieces and nephew loved it, they didn't want to come out so it can't be that bad. My daughter doesn't know how to swim and a little boy asked her if she would like to borrow his goggles and another little girl asked her if she would like to use her float - it was so sweet. There was even a kids disco held on sat night.
The park was right next to us. There was a security guard walking around at night, there was another who drove around asking if we had any rubbish which saved us a journey lol and a gentleman who owned a local farm who popped in twice during the day with strawberrys for 70p and had cream cakes, meat, eggs etc it was just so nice.
I suggest you go to the two chimneys and experience it for yourself your children will love it and so will you :). Oh and a heads up take a few 20p's as you do get charged a tiny fee for using the hairdryier but it does let you have 5mins and to be honest 20p is next to nothing x

We found it 'ok'. The pitches were flat and big enough but given that the site was only 1/4 full the shower and washing up facilities are limited.
The on site shop doesn't take any form of Card payment and there isn't a cash machine within 1 mile which was a little disappointing.
Being from the area and only going back to visit friends we didn't sample the bar or swimming pool on site.
We will return as its very convenient for us.

Just returned from a lovely week at 2 chimneys. We camped at the far end of the site and it was a little windy at times but didn't spoil our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our week with our two Grandsons and although we are of the older generation(60+) they found plenty to occupy themselves. Everyone so friendly children join in football and cricket games and wardens make sure they don't get too noisy at night. Showers better than some we have encountered although maybe a few more needed. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable week. Thank you 2 chimneys staff.
